And this they are doing very well. Since Spain keep the defense tight and then keep possession, they will not concede a goal unless they are extremely unlucky.

I could not believe this reality, Japan won Spain, Germany won Costa Rica. Everyone expected Spain to lead, but Japan become victorious in their group with 6 points, followed by Spain with 4 points. Germany also with 4 points but Spain scored more goals. It is surprising that Germany has been disqualified from world cup so fast in group stage.
Yep..it's all over for Germany unfortunately and they need to understand that ego and fancy stuff won't win games for them.

.Germany is out in the group stage in two world cups in a row now which is a total shame for them i can imagine. This match today was also weird again from Germany. Of course they were dominating Costa Rica but at one point they were even 1-2 down against them which should never happen. It is also true though that Germany did basically everything today that they could do. They won their game with 4-2 but that was just not enough because Japan somehow managed to win 2-1 against Spain which nobody expected before i would guess.
I also have to say, that the result of Japan vs. Spain smells pretty fishy to me. Spain is probably very happy now that they only placed second in the group because now they will face Marocco in the round of the last 16 instead of Croatia, so i can imagine that Spain did not really want to score the equalizer anymore. That would be very bad sportsmanship though.

Japan played very defensively, they hardly played other than defending very well. So I think Japan was really lucky not to make a mistake in their area of defense so that Spain failed to score. Good bye Germany. Japan spoilt their big win over Costa Rica. Japan has won two big European countries topping the table. Winning tow former world cup champions in the group stage and this is so impressive. Japan deserves a public holiday. It is a pity Germany have to leave the world cup this way. My worries now is to be sure Spain isn't overhyped seeing how the couldn't get two straight wins in a group where the were favourite to stay at the top.

I didn't see this ending coming. Spain and Germany had quickly taken a 1-0 lead and then it seemed only a matter of time that many goals would be scored by both countries. The surprise was great when Japan even came to 2-1. Spain is of course through to the next round, but will still have an unpleasant aftertaste. I haven't checked the exact schedule, but Spain finished 2nd in the group and will probably play against France. And Japan can against Australia. Those are games where the level is very far apart. Golden chance for Japan.

Belgium didn't qualify for the last 16. They announced a problem within the team a few days ago. This problem was still there. They had trouble finding goals. Mertens and lukaku, with their missed chances, in a way made this draw possible. So Morocco and Croatia are out of this group. I don't think anyone could have imagined that Morocco would come out of this group as the leader. This result might have been a surprise for Morocco too.

Probably the most unpredictable day of all unpredictable days... Costa Rica beats Germany and Japan beat Spain... If you could speculate about Spain and Japan who would win, then Germany was not expected to play such an embarrassing game... Once again they can't make it to the 1/8, losing to the clear underdogs... What a sensation...

Somehow Germany have made a comeback leveling the 2-2. We don't know what's gonna happen at the last minutes. Spain could've never thought Japan in such a way. Big teams of the tournament are struggling hard, and taking position as game changers. As stated the underdogs are making the win throughout the day starting from the Belgium vs Croatia, Canada vs Morocco, now these two matches. They seem to have managed to level the score, but they are still last in the group...

This is what I always say as there is no impossible in football cause the results of the game is just what no one expected and this is really really exciting as the Spain and Germany being put on their road tonight to make sure they qualify.
