The United States?
New Zealand, Brazil, Canada?
For me it was the USA. The world champion team had a very haughty posture, and that was noticeable on the field. Each game that passed, they showed less, convinced that they would win the games.
And that can be clearly seen in the game against Portugal, where they did just enough to draw. Noting that they were convinced they were going to win. It is true that they ended up drawing. But with minutes to go, they could have nearly lost. They didn't lose in that game, they lost in the next game.
I do not think this is so important that we discuss it. Also, why don't we check the reaction of the Spanish girl after kissing? She was equally involved in it and also when the kiss and hug was over, the Spanish girl did not show any embarrassment or something like that.
I don't want to get into issues of harassment, sexism or anything else here.
The only thing I can say is that the attitude was not adequate for the situation. For me, it was only validated if they came to say they had the romantic affair. And since that hasn't happened so far, it's clear proof that it was something inappropriate.
The player, that same night, made it clear that she didn't like it, saying later "but what could I do?"
They can say what they want, it was not appropriate, even if they had a romantic affair, because that is an official event and people must behave appropriately to the situation they are experiencing. And he is a representative of a country, he must have a dignified and respectful attitude. Which he clearly didn't have.
