Seriously now people, the joke has gone too far! Get a sundial, how could you even consider that the earth was a globe? Kansas is flatter than a pancake and they've gone and proven this at a university. The only evidence that exists for a globe earth is badly hoaxed images.

Why this dicsussion? Are we back in middel Ages?

The discussion is quite interesting actually, he is asking for an experiment that anyone can do to prove to themselves that earth is not flat, wich might not be that easy to find.
Yes. It's very interesting. They prove their opinions about it.
How about you? Do you believe that the earth is a flat one?

I know she is flat. Density sorts everything including water (always will seek lowest point, there is no such thing as a mountain of water).

What remains to be found out is:
  • is it a endless flat plane
  • dome top
  • or hollow
the poles hold the key

Get in an aeroplane and just keep flying in the same direction, eventually you will end up in near enough the same place.

You won't see it, if its flat or not by that way
That is a very intelligent statement. If the Earth was really flat, flying in the same direction should eventually bring you to the end of the horizon (unless it is infinitely flat which is ridiculous). Actually if you look out of the window on a trans-Atlantic flight, you can sometimes see the curvature of the earth in the horizon.

I don't think that the people who believe in this nonsense are really okay.

It's quite simple and there is a lot of evidence.

Depending on temperature and air pressure, it is possible for the lower guy in the round model to see part or all of the tree due to atmospheric light refraction.

who will fly you like that? i doubt that someone would do that, and even is someone would, biggest scepticals would say that on windows there are pcs which show different view than it is "for real"

I've found an easy experiment that anybody with a telephoto lens can perform.

Nice work. Every piece of compelling content like this helps pull a few more people out of their "education" induced coma.

How as an individual can I know if the Earth is a sphere or a flat disc? What experiment can I do that doesn't involve trusting information from a 3rd party that would prove what the geometry really is?

Go to a church, ask them what they believe.  The truth is usually the opposite.

LOL, atheism at it's best. I don't believe in anything but that was the most self-centered thing i've ever seen. haha Cheesy

I've crafted the following image depicting sunset on a flat Earth after watching the Sun go down.
