There's no guarantee that the new president will be friendly with Messi and other club members. Mind you, Messi was not the only person that complains about Bartomeu's leadership Messi only makes his own criticism public cause he was the club captain and I am sure the person who will be the new president and his board won't want to make the same mistake done by Bartomeu.

That's right. He was the only one who went public about it, given how big his position at the club is. I'm sure lots of others weren't happy with how things were going, but it's silly to speak up when you obviously don't really have any influence, unlike Messi.

Anyway, I'm happy whatever the outcome, as long as the ship starts to stabilize and we get back to footballing as we should.

There is no guarantee that new president will be friends with Messi neither, nobody assumed this president would have such a big fight with Messi neither but it happened and now he is gone, nobod would want to work with a president who is having a fight with arguably one of the best players in history, so it was an obvious outcome when the fight happened but beforehand nobody expected that.

Maybe new president will have a fight with Messi as well? Maybe he won't be kind to what happened to this one and will want to prevent same thing happening to him so he could potentially lower Messi's influence over Barcelona or at least try to do that but may fail like this one too, who knows?

I do not see a guarantee Messi staying at the end of the season, he could be gone at any time.

Barca president Bartomeu retired.

This is was fun guys, now Messi can stay at Barca till the end of his carrier.
Messi is not comfortable enough to stay and playing as energetic before at Barca. This is a good news that President Maria Bartomeu reports the resignation of the FC Barcelona Board but this doesn't mean from now Messi and entire team can start performing well and conquer the world of football. Actually we've been waiting for this for so long, let's see if there make any difference.

coinlocket is right in my mind. I do not know Barca or Messi well but this is exactly what Messi asked for and he got what he wanted. I mean to me as an outsider this is all it boiled down to, a rotten piece of the top level board,,, and now it is gone they can rebuild. Messi and others in the team at least can feel that evil eye gone from above.

Barcelona is actually in great chaos, both in terms of management and finances and needs urgent and fundamental changes.
These changes will not happen overnight and a new president and board will be elected in a few months.
This season is most likely lost for Barcelona and I’m not sure how much longer Messi can or wants to wait for something to change.
He is aware that his career is coming to an end and wants to win new trophies and not wait for a new beginning with a new management.
My bet is that Messi will go to Manchester City next season, for free, to join Pep  Grin

It looks like the contract negotiations between David Alaba and FC Bayern remain very difficult. Alaba has rejected another offer from FC Bayern. He continues to demand a higher salary (comparable to the salary of Lewandowski, Müller or Neuer). The German newspaper Bild reported the following today:

A third round of negotiations between Bayern and David Alaba's Agent Pini Zahavi took place in Munich on Friday, but still without agreement. Bayern have offered a 5-year contract instead of 4, but didn't increase their wage offer (€11m + 6). Offer was rejected.

For Alaba's camp, the fixed salary is still too low. The Austrian wants to be on a par with the top earners Lewandowski, Neuer and Müller. The Alaba camp also consider that Bayern didn't fulfill the promise made in 2016 to move the player to midfield.

The new contract negotiations have now become even tougher and the player can sign a pre-contract with another club as early as January [@SPORTBILD]

It was clear that the president would not be president much longer, if I remember correctly his work would have expired in 2021.
He just anticipated what would happen in 6-10 months, now I don't remember when exactly it expired.

Yes, president just a position that can be change anytimes, but he always say will stay, his disharmony with Messi maybe give another pressure for him behind. Barcelona investors and fans doesn't want Messi leave from barcelona, even his contracts just remain till next summer. At least, with this news maybe from 90% chance for Messi to Leave now become more lower such as 50:50.

Does Messi will stay? I'm not so sure even if the decision seems simple now.
I remember to anyone here that if he wants in 2021 he can free himself for zero.
I think he will still leave come 2021. He has won it all in Barcelona and has nothing new to offer there. If he leaves Barcelona, it will benefit both him, and the club. From what I see, Barcelona needs to rebuild from scratch with the youngster. The Old generation of Barca which was centered around Messi is no more any he isn't growing any younger.

I agree Barcelona must start over again to build a team, changing senior players must be done by Barcelona. One of the ways is letting Messi
go is the best decision, after all, currently Messi's performance is decreasing. So letting Messi go can reduce the salary burden, because as we
all know Barcelona is experiencing financial difficulties due to the pandemic.

Haha, of course this is very funny when board have a decision to keep their players working with him, but messi have an ability to make club president retired. President follow the players rules because he is the club brands

if Ozil is willing to go to AC Milan, it is likely that Hakan Calhanoglu will actually be released by AC Milan. based on rumors, AC Milan and Hakan still have not agreed to extend the contract. Hakan reportedly asked for a double salary increase, this is what made AC Milan delay the renewal process until he found a salary value agreement.

I am not sure about that. Considering the age between these players, ozil is 6 years older than calhanoglu.
Also calhanoglu stats last season is not that bad, 11 goals and 9 assists in 38 matches.
And currently he collects 4 goals and 4 assists this season (8 matches).
Milan should keep him for another 2-3 years. However, anything is possible. Covid19 makes financial of some club looks bad, so let see.

think Arsenal club did not like it. I'm glad he left Arsenal. I heard a Rumor, MIlan is ready to take him to the team. Hopefully he will play better at Milan. Best wishes for him.

That's interesting, I think Mesut Ozil will go around with the same salary maybe a bit higher than Hakan Calhanoglu even after Milan agrees to his double salary demands (considering Mesut Ozil isn't fine with pay cut). I think Milan will go for Hakan Calhanoglu, he has got age and is playing fine and crucial role.

The best thing for Ozil would be to finally shut up. He got what he deserved based on his performances, he is dead weight for a few seasons already.

It shocked me that they gave him that huge contract in 2018, I felt he did not do enough to earn it. It is really funny to see him blaming others, considering he's been utter shit every time he played in the past few years.

A technically good player, but lazy and drastically overrated. I'm glad Arteta had the balls to cut him from the team - it was the right call.

I don't think so, Ozil is a great player. He wanted to always play, Arsenal needed him badly but they were forced by circumstances. We know that ozil is a good person, he often talks about violence against humanity in other parts of the world. Maybe the club doesn't like that and it will have a bad effect on the club. Several times the arsenal talked about why Ozil was not in the arsenal's main squad, but all answered that it was not true. If you see this
https://twitter.com/MesutOzil1088/status/1318874490646953984?s=19
then Ozil is actually a loyal person to the club. I heard that Milan are ready to host him for the next transfer window.

If he really has the ambition to play all the time, why did he stay in London, even though they communicated to him that he won't be needed anymore?! It's because he wants the money they pledged to him when he signed the contract! Just as a club can insist on fulfilling a contract, so can a player. It's Özil right that he wants to fullfil his contract and I am sure most of us here wouldn't want to waive away that huge chunk of money. But that has nothing to do with loyalty to Arsenal imho.
