He is completely right about it undoubtedly. Brighton destroyed them away by 3-1 today. I'm saying it again. They need to rebuild the team for real. The current squad isn't good enough. This is the sad truth.

The attacking line is horrible. Please just sign a decent striker. It won't happen with either Zirkzee or Hojlund. If they have a real scorer then they can at least increase their win rate. For the defense, please get rid of Maguire.
Today was a huge blow in their face and I dint want to believe they aren't aware they performed really poorly, in the first half they did looked like they were going to do something better by second half but sadly it turned out really different. Manchester United is in dare need of a good striker actually, I saw earlier they trying to get on with Osimhen but I doubt if that's the kind of striker Manchester United will be needing, and the defence they needed a replacement for yoro as he's not doing exactly what is required of him, except he improves.
In my opinion, the entire Manchester United squad is great. But they can't sell all the players and buy others in a short space of time, so the Manchester United coach needs to start buying players by sectors and buying players by sectors. For example, starting with the players who are in defense and attack, and in the next transfer window he would sell the average players and buy others. In 2 years he could have a strong team.
No doubt, you have a point here, focusing on section by section would have been very much ok, but just know that it easier said than done, most of this players that aren't doing well in this Manchester united squad aren't getting suitors, in such a scenario that a player isn't getting suitors, what are you going to do when the player still has a very long contract at the club?
Though the ideal approach would have been this one you suggested, selling of the dead and average players out of Manchester united but who is going to be the buyers? Or are they going to cancel the contract? No I don't really think so because the lose would be too much for any club in the world to bear.
So in my own opinion, the best way Manchester united can return back to the club they are known as, they needs to purge the system just as you suggested but it should be done gradually in like four transfer windows, not one of two transfer window, but doing it in a hurry is going to cause the team more harm than good.
