Brest was lucky even though they achieved a draw against Nantes but Lille failed to take advantage of that moment to overtake Brest in 3rd place because the difference between the two clubs was only 2 points. If Lille could beat Lyon then they could occupy the Champions League zone with 1 point more than Brest but it turned out Lille had to suffer defeat at home so they failed to overtake Brest. Lyon scored the 4th goal in the extra minute of added time with the defeat. Monaco is slightly safe in 2nd place with a difference of 4 points from Brest and 6 points from Lille with 2 more matches remaining. If Monaco wins the match against Montpellier in the next match, then they will win it is certain that Monaco will finish in second place and Brest must win the remaining matches to ensure its position in 3rd place to get a Champions League ticket next season.

Lille must win the remaining matches too so that Nice doesn't overtake him in 4th place, maybe by winning 1 more match Lille will safely be in 4th position and he will enter the Champions League qualifying round while Nice will end up in the Europa League qualifying. Lyon looks like he will continue to improve he is currently in 7th place thanks to winning the match against Lille.

It doesn't matter how long both teams have to rest before they clash horns together in the champions league but one thing is certain, PSG are on the losing side and I believe this is the end for them in the UCL. The first leg was awful I mean from the Ligue 1 champions (PSG) and they couldn't do what they normally do in their domestic league against Dortmund and I don't think that is also the cause of short term preparation, is it? No, is just how they play in the CL.


From how both teams played in the first leg you'd agree with me that Dortmund played better than PSG, the way and manner the German side took control in that encounter wasn't what I expected. No desperate kind of play all positions was operating perfectly fine till they got the goal and I believe if they (Dortmund) continue the way they did in the first leg and even add more fire power I believe the final is theirs with PSG going back home as usual.

This round wasn't good for Brest since they got a draw against Nantes but also for their close follower, Lille, which was defeated by Lyon by four goals to three.. So Brest are still in the third place with only two points difference between them and Lille.
For Monaco, as you said they established the second spot and they almost confirmed their participation in UEFA Champions League next season regardless of the other teams results.

Both teams will come with their best morale and with the look of things, the match will be very hard to predict the winner of this game. I have also realised that PSG are good at comebacks and if Dortmund are not careful, their journey in the champions league competition will come to an end tomorrow after the match. The best they can do to be on a safer side is to use their defense wisely to not allow any goal from the opponent while taking advantage of any attack that comes during the match. If they can maintain this strategy for the whole full time of the game, they’ll come out victorious. Any goal encountered from this match against the other team will be a lost hope in their in the others persons side. I look forward to a very competitive match between this two teams tomorrow evening.

I'm not sure how it's set up, but expecting teams to be able to play as many as 3 games in 7 days is terrible. PSG gets 7 days of preparation time before playing Dortmund, while Dortmund has 5 days. In terms of rest time, Dortmund certainly doesn't have much time to make better team preparations, but 5 days seems reasonable.

The PSG vs Dortmund match will be played tomorrow or in 21 hours 18 minutes. Both teams have prepared and I hope they both entertain throughout the match. Dortmund, who holds the aggregate advantage, is not the favorite to win, while PSG is the favorite to win and qualify for the final.

It looks like the French League administrators are giving PSG all the support they need. They have always ensured that the Ligue One champions have enough time to rest before any Champions League match. The last time PSG played a match was on 1st May when they played the first semi-finals leg. Meanwhile,. Borussia Dortmund played their last game against Augsburg three days after they met PSG. Edin Terzić was smart enough to rest some of his key players in preparation for the game with PSG


Borussia Dortmund has a one-goal advantage and will like to defend well and also use the counter-attacking style with some of their fast strikers. But PSG is also a good attacking side and I don't forget how Mbappé hit the poll twice. The match is still open to both teams and we expect to see a very entertaining match tomorrow.

Today's match was really interesting and I don't regret watching the Lille and Lyon match because both clubs showed a very good match in 90 minutes.

In the first half Lyon didn't do much to trouble Lille but in the second half, especially in the 10 minutes of normal time, apart from Lille's performance, Lyon also played very well in this match.

4 goals in the last 10 minutes made the situation very pleasant as a spectator and the final result was a victory for Lyon which I did not expect because I initially felt that after the first half seeing Lille's superiority then they would win quite feasibly but the second half was really the difference and Lille had to be willing to lose points in their home match in today's match.
Obviously this is a loss because after all, apart from losing by 3 goals in the last 10 minutes they also failed to overtake Brest when the opportunity was in sight.

PSG don't have a game for this week and that really works for them ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Dortmund. PSG, who have to overcome a 1 goal deficit from Dortmund, have prepared themselves well to host their opponents at home, while Dortmund, who won 5-1 over Augsburg, will come with their best morale.

The match is expected to be very close from the first half, but I would not be surprised to see Dortmund focus on defense while taking advantage of opportunities to build counter-attacks. Dortmund have a good defense as they proved in the first leg, but I'm sure PSG will score from the first half. I'm looking forward to that.

It is quite interesting to have a short week like this where only a few teams play, but if it is something the French like to do then that is their own decision and I can't judge them for it. I believe that it is quite obvious that we are talking about a situation where it is going to be a little bit complicated and I think it is not going to be all that crazy, just assume that you are going to end up with a result that won't be entertaining for the fans.

In the end, a few games were quite good, Brest failing to win and Monaco getting an easy win made Monaco establish their second place even further, which is definitely something they really wanted. I can see that unless something major happens, Monaco will end the season as second place easily.

Referring to the statistics of the match between Brest vs Nantes, in fact it is Nantes who has the biggest chance.  they had 3 big chances, while the home team only had 1 big chance. although in fact, in this match Brest almost didn't let Nantes control more ball possession. Brest controlled 72% ball possession, but only had 2 accurate shots from 9 attempts. Nantes doesn't have much ball possession, but they have dangerous opportunities based on statistics.

But, this is just a scenario that may or may not happen. However, this means that Brest's position is not safe if Nice wipes out the remaining matches and Brest experiences another decline. well, a little interesting.

^ Brest has definitely been surprising. To be specific, surprisingly good. But towards the end of the season, I agree that the performance has not been the best from them. And better performance could have been given by them by the standards they have set for themselves in this season. But I think that is not going to matter too much if they are just able to finish on the first three positions of the table. Because that is going to give them a chance to perform in the Champions League competition.

Right now they are in the third position and they are being threatened by the team that is below them. But I think if they are able to win the remaining two matches, they will be able to stay in the third position. Of course, they will have to pray that Losc loses or at least drops points in a match. let’s see what happens. But the third position is currently there for anyone to take.

Lille have one game in hand. They will get third place if they are able to win it. Brest have relatively easy opponents in their remaining 2 matches. Lille will have to face Nice in their final match. They will also face Lyon tonight. Lille should not underestimate Lyon because Lyon is able to beat several big teams. Lille has an advantage of 1 match more than Brest but Brest has relatively easier matches than Lillle. This will be an interesting rivalry to watch. Lille must win tonight's match to shift Brest from third place in the standings.

It is indeed a difficult fight to predict. Lyon won the last match between them. If Lyon wins again, they will surpass both teams in the rankings. While they were in a very bad situation, they are in a good situation now, it is promising. The match will get underway soon, if Lyon manages to win they will be moving in a better direction, their moves in the January transfer window have borne fruit.

With the draw experienced by Brest when they hosted Nantes, this will open up opportunities for Lille to get into the top three if Lille can win at home in today's match. Most of the big players that were expected to help Bayern Munich win the league are almost all out of the club but they still have the services of Kylian Mbappe for the rest of the current season before he'll leave the club in the summer.
If there's anytime they can win the Champions League title, then it must be this particular season but for them to do that, they'll have to overturn a 1:0 deficit in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi final game at Borussia Dortmund when they host the German club tomorrow. I think they have all it takes to win that particular tie

But with Lille's current condition which is still quite good and with their situation which is still able to get the top 3 positions and the Champions League zone, indeed at this time Lille's big chance is clearly very much there to be able to win in this match, especially when they play home, it is not wrong for them to be the favorite now.

Lyon towards the end of the current season began to develop in a slightly better direction because at least they did not have bad results in the last few matches and could take them out of an uncomfortable zone like the beginning of last season so surely the resistance remains only I am still quite optimistic about Lille for this match especially this could be a pretty good event for Lille in their revenge considering that previously at the first meeting in Ligue 1 Lille lost with a score of 2-1 in Lyon so indeed this could be a good event for them to avenge their revenge.

Barcelona? I assume you wanted to mention the Lille - Lyon game tonight.    Lyon are really on the rise after starting the season horrible. Even though they are the away side here they might be able to make difficulties for Lille. However I believe Lille would be the winner one way or another. They shouldn't waste their big advantage over Nice in the last two weeks.

I agree about Brest and Lille. They both deserve it. In the first times of the season Nice were also doing really good but their consistency was broken at one point. They lost a lot of points in a row that they won't make it to the Champions League most probably.

Currently only PSG had managed to secure the Ligue 1 trophy and Champions League slot next season, while for Monaco and also Brest of course still have fierce competition to be able to get one Champions League slot next season, currently Monaco is ranked second with a difference of 4 points from Brest who are ranked third at this time,  I think the two can still swap positions at the end of the table if indeed Monaco is not able to continue their positive trend in the remaining two games of the season, for now Monaco has a greater chance of being able to win the Champions League ticket because indeed they only need one more win to be sure,  But I think Monacomentality will be tested by Montpellier next week because Montpellier has been a difficult opponent for Monaco to beat.

If we talk about brest, aren't they a pretty surprising team this season?
After experiencing a difficult journey to stay in Ligue 1 last season, Brest surprised us all with their ability to compete in the top 4 this season, even before they were able to put pressure on PSG in the second rank but it was tragic when they were comfortable enough to be ranked second in Ligue 1, but thier  were unable to maintain their performance towards the end of the season.

Despite Lyon having a bad season, They are currently having a good form. Lyon succeeded to win the game against Monaco, and this shows that they have ability to beat a team. Lille is under pressure to win this game, while Lyon have nothing to lose. This situation makes things complicated, because the pressure could make Lille hard to perform at their best.

Lille have to capitalize this chance to climb up third position to secure an automatic ticket to play in Champions League group stage. Finishing fourth means they have to go through qualification that makes their chance to play in Champions League group stage harder because there is chance they will face a tough team from a better league. Playing at home should be a advantage for them, but they need to ba cautious to play against a team that has nothing to lose.
