For now, I have one very profitable match between Marseille and Angers.
Without using deeper analysis, we can already know who the winner is in this match and we can see the score results in this match. Angers is just a mediocre team currently at the bottom of the standings without a win and having conceded 12 goals in 6 matches. Meanwhile, Marseille is currently in top form after Greenwood joined De Zerbi's team; everything seems to be getting better.
So I bet on over @3.5 with very enticing odds. [...]

From the performance of both teams, we can be sure that Marseille will win this match. But the question is, can this match make more than 3.5 goals? because we can only expect the goals to come from Marseille, while Angers, who are also playing away, will likely have difficulty scoring goals. I think you are taking too much risk by betting over 3.5 goals. Although over 2.5 goals has less odds, it is the most reasonable thing to happen in this match. I think there will only be a maximum of 3 goals in this match.

PSG did not have a striker capable of breaking the deadlock in that match and how in the second half they dominated still no goals were scored. Regardless of the strength of the opponent I still think enrique's squad has a chance to win, and honestly I question enrique why not include asensio? he just sat on the bench
And the only drawback PSG does not have the mentality when facing a team outside league 1 that is equally strong they always seem to struggle,
Another thing related to playing against Nice in the domestic league PSG should have been able to win even though they acted as a guest team Nice's strength is below PSG.
I've noticed this too about big clubs being unable to shine outside of their domestic leagues and I feel maybe they get so comfortable building themselves to be able to beat the opponents in their league that they forget  that there are other competitions they need to feature in. Well it's always been like that for PSG; they rarely make it to semi's and we've not gotten there yet but their performance is already lagging.
Although they can dominate Ligue 1, but in terms of level they still can't compete tightly when facing clubs from outside Ligue 1. I feel that the level of competition that is not competitive in Ligue 1 is one of the reasons they can't compete, because as you said, when a club feels comfortable in a more regular domestic league, then they may never improve and that is the problem that ultimately makes them always fail in the Champions League. Their best achievement in the Champions League was when they were able to penetrate the final in several seasons ago, but before or after that they no longer showed that they could compete. Maybe they could qualify from the group stage, but when they were in the knockout stages they always had difficulties.

Everyone knows about PSG dominating the whole French League but there is a difference between this season and the other season in this league. PSG always tried to spend too much money and dominate the French League by hiring more superstar players which made this team much stronger than all other teams and there is no team to race with PSG anymore but now they didn't buy superstar players and instead of buying these players they just have a coach like Enrique in PSG who can help them to have better teamwork.

So far we don't know what is really the main problem between Enrique and Dembele, but indeed it is reported that the disciplinary violation committed by Dembele is the beginning of his dispute with Enrique at this time, but what happened to Dembele and Enrique happened at the wrong time and directly benefited Arsenal in the match,  in the match against Arsenal it is clear that PSG was actually able to dominate the match and even they were able to create more scoring opportunities than Arsenal, but indeed the absence of a qualified striker clearly made every attack of them deadlocked in the match and I think it was also the impact of Dembele absence in the match, so far we know how Dembele quality is in every match, Although he may be a selfish player, he can always be the difference in every PSG game with his quality in scoring goals and also providing passes from various positions so far.
Dembele is indeed a very good player at PSG with a clear difference when he plays and when he does not play in the match, but that does not mean we should judge Arsenal as weaker than PSG because Arsenal is also a team that is very used to facing big strong teams in any competition. So even if there is Dembele in the match, I think PSG will not find it easy to win because Arsenal also has the strength to put up resistance to any opponent. And now PSG must also have sufficient preparation when returning to the Champions League by hosting PSV later.

Leaving Dembele out of squad is going to have positive and negative sides for PSG.

The positive side: Maybe Dembele would learn not to act in an undisciplined way and be more obedient with his manager's calls.

The negative side: He was still contributing in a really good way. He got like 4 goals and 4 assists in 7 games. This would be a really important loss for PSG in the attacking line.  Sad

Some time ago, you would remember Mbappe was also left out of squad but it didn't take him a long time to be added in. The same thing might happen to Dembele as well.
It is just a disciplinary matter. It shouldn’t take too long before Dembele returns to the squad again. I am positive the message is now clear to Dembele that he cannot behave in a certain manner that is not acceptable by the club. His absence will affect the team’s performance but it is also good to maintain order and build players respect for the club values, Dembele is one of PSG’s best winger and Luis Enrique is well aware of the pros and cons for the club. I think the manager is more concerned about teaching Dembele that no player is bigger than the club.

https://dailypost.ng/2024/10/02/champions-league-psg-winger-apologises-to-luis-enrique-after-2-0-defeat-to-arsenal/

There are some important games that coaches shouldn't joke with. I don't know the gravity of the offense Dembele committed but he is a key player that shouldn't have been dropped in such an important match. His suspension should have been moved to a game in the Ligue One not against an European power house like Arsenal. According to some newspapers, the French player have apologized to Luis Enrique and have been brought back to the team. Hopefully, both Dembele and Enrique have learned some lessons from the sanction and loss.

Yeah I also found out about it later on but still thanks for the information.  Smiley  The same thing happened when Mbappe also was left out of squad. It didn't take Luis Enrique too long to have him back in.

Dembele is a crucial part of the team like I said before. They shouldn't move on without him especially in tougher games. Maybe he isn't the most inconsistent player in his career but his current contribution is very valuable.

Today we have Marseille - Angers as the opening game of the new week. It is like the easiest game for them in the league technically. Angers are at the bottom with 2 points. As Marseille win pays out only 1.26, I would rather try my luck with handicap Marseille 0:1 @1.71.  Grin

I agree with you. I think PSG doesn't have a good mentality in European competitions. I don't mean they are a bad team. As far as I remember they managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of UCL last season so there is no doubt they are a solid team. But now we are talking about the condition of each important match in a difficult situation. Besides tactics I think mentality will also determine the outcome of the match. Some teams will experience a down mentality when in a losing situation but some teams with a champion mentality can create miracles by catching up on goals or even turning the score into a win. Honestly I haven't seen that kind of mentality in PSG. Some teams with a champion mentality last season were Real Madrid, Atalanta and Leverkusen who managed to get out of difficult situations in important matches several times.
PSG's defeat at Arsenal's home in the Champions League match is proof that PSG still has to be better outside Ligue 1 because being strong in Ligue 1 alone will not guarantee PSG to be able to become champions outside there. Even though Arsenal and PSG are two teams that have never won the Champions League during their careers, it must be admitted that Arsenal is a team that is much more consistent when playing at home so that they were able to beat PSG in that important match without any goals being scored in return from PSG.
I have said before that PSG players do not have a strong mentality to play in European competitions, especially since Mbappe is no longer there, so PSG's quality of play in the Champions League has decreased slightly. Unlike in League 1 PSG is still the strongest club even though Mbappe is not there, so I don't think PSG will go further like last season, maybe PSG can only qualify for the last 16, after that I'm not sure they can reach a higher level. I can already guess that PSG will definitely be defeated by Arsenal in terms of squad depth, clearly EPL club has a stronger quality of play compared to League 1 clubs.

Paris Saint Germaine have dominated the French league for far too long and must extend their dominance to Europe now before they can be considered as an European heavyweight. A win for the French champions at the Emirates will help improve the mentality and confidence of PSG but I strongly doubt they'll be able to beat Mikel Arteta's men.
Yes, that what fans have always wanted by seeing PSG able to create their own dominance in European competition, they are only kings in the domestic league and are always team that does not show stable strength in European competitions such as the UCL.
If this season with the new format can provide an opportunity for PSG to compete for the championship title, then they must be able to make the most of it because that way PSG will slowly adapt to learn how to become team with champion mentality and be feared when participating in the UCL competition.
Upcoming match will not be an easy match for PSG because they have to play away against Arsenal who are currently strong team, they could even beat PSG even though in the first UCL match they had to fail and accept draw when playing away against Atalanta.
I curious about this match, whether PSG can play well or just like usual who have difficulty when playing against big team in every UCL match.
This time PSG is lucky because they can finally have better performance in the Champions League after years of failing it. PSG this time got a coach like Enrique who can help this team a lot because of the experience he has from Barcelona. But other than this PSG is going to play against Arsnela today and this match won't be hard for PSG because Arsenal also had bad performances usually in the Champions League games and this can make a far better situation for PSG in this match however I don't think if Arteta and his players will let PSG take points easily in this match.
In the end I was very disappointed with PSG performance in the UCL yesterday when they played against Arsenal and had to suffer defeat, this was serious defeat because PSG had to lose when Arsenal was also in imperfect condition, it was valuable lesson for Enrique so that in the future he could prepare his players better.
I have seen all of PSG remaining schedules in the UCL competition and several big team will face PSG so it will be very burdensome for PSG to be able to perform better in every UCL competition in the future, I doubt PSG can get comfortable place without having to go through the play-off round.
But this is only two matches and it is still very early, what is clear is that in the future there will be Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City who will be PSG opponents in the UCL match schedule that PSG will undergo and all three can put pressure on PSG, haha this is test for Enrique because the opponents he must face are even much stronger than Arsenal.

To be fair while Strasbourg could be strong, Marseille is much more strong and this is why everyone assumed that they would win. I am not saying they were a bad team, they are good at home, and this resulted with a win obviously as we can see.

However, Marseille spent so  much money and did so well until this game so everyone assumed maybe there was a chance Marseille could win with ease, or even if they would have hard time, get a win barely. None happened, Strasbourg ended up getting the win which is shocking to me but I hope things get better with time and Marseille could close the gap once again, losing these unexpected games hurt their chances to be second. Nobody other then PSG will be first of course, I always think like that, even without Mbappe.
We have had a lot of shocking results in all Europe competitions this season, football has never been this unpredictable. The teams with higher probability of winning matches tend to be the losers. Who would have thought Strasbourg would come out victorious in the game against Marseille. I placed my stake on Marseille to win or get a draw but it didn’t turn out as I predicted and I lost the bet.
Somehow, I'm beginning to see it resulting from the fact that its been a series of tight game schedule for these teams and they are trying to see how well they can mange the situation even with all of the busy schedules and al they could do is to just play and hope they get lucky somehow but the players may actually be fatigued and now they are mostly playing based off priority because that may turn out the best way to get the kind of results they may want to get as much as they want it because you see them playing some game with more determination and strength than the other and that could be only due to priority.

PSG still shows their small mentality so far in the Champions League and it can be seen from the two matches they have played, against Girona they were able to win but we can't deny that it is just luck after the stalemate until the 90th minute, yes although they continued to field their best squad in the match PSG had difficulty breaking into the Girona goal and an own goal from the Girona goalkeeper actually made PSG win the match,  the defeat to Arsenal further shows how their current performance and mentality, although actually PSG was able to dominate the match but we can see how bad their defense and attack line are which Arsenal are actually able to make good use of, what happened to PSG this season is still the same as what happened last season, so I think we will only be able to favorite them in Ligue 1 and the Champions League trophy  of course still will be a dream for them Grin.

Have you not realized that the same thing always happens to PSG in the UCL? I remember that when there was that terrible trident like Messi + Mbappé + Ney it was the same, they never managed to win a UCL, I don't know what's happening to them, now that there is no star like them, their performance is clearly not the same, they try to play very well with their team, they include the players and everything, but it is not enough, I personally think that they have to invest in players, a worthy player for this team would be an Osimhen, and a good defender would make the difference for this team, that way they would have more solidity.

Every team that plays at home must be more confident with being watched by many of their supporters and that happened to Strasbourg even though they knew that their opponent was quite tough for them but they did not lose their spirit and tried hard not to lose points and in the end they were smart enough to take advantage of the situation and scored the only goal in the match until the opposing club could not equalize and that was the first defeat for Marseille this season.
However, Marseille can still compete tightly to occupy the top ranking but it seems not for the first champion because I think Marseille can compete tightly to become the runner-up champion I don't think other clubs will beat PSG in the hunt for the League 1 title.
Yeah, but we see Marseille have away games they win, so that means there are some teams that loses to Marseille on their own home. Marseille doesn't go 17 home wins and 17 away losses all season long (which would be 51 points and good for 7th place last season) they end up being good enough to go to other teams homes and beat them there too. Strasbourg should have been one of them, just because they ended up with a loss there, doesn't mean strasbourg is great at home, at the same time doesn't mean Marseille is bad, it just means there was one bad game and we should not find any excuse for it.

Simply put, Marseile sucked that game and they should have been better. They don't really have many other games neither, they finished 8th last season so they are not in any European competition neither. So they spent so much money to be near the top as much as they can, and they need to win these games to make sure they are doing fine, without that there is nothing that can be good at all.

It is difficult to find what PSG's real problem is in the Champions League apart from their mentality which is not yet good. PSG once failed in the Champions League final and they often failed in the knockout rounds, but their performance never improved from season to season. The main problem may be due to the quality of the local players and their mercenaries. They are players whose mentality is not good.

Real Madrid is very different and the team really has a good winning mentality. It is always difficult to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League even though they can actually lose. However, Real Madrid players have a strong mentality and their main squad is not built from many local players. Only Dani Carvajal, who has a Spanish passport, was in their main line-up in the previous match against Lille, while the others were non-Spanish players.

Sad

Dembele definitely needs to learn to play better, not just his off the field shenanigans causing the trouble but he has been a player that caused so much issues for Barcelona and now doing the same thing at PSG as well. They trust him and give him the position and we know he is talented, we have seen him do talented things, we have seen him have great games, then one day he goes out and plays like he doesn't worth even 5 million let alone 50 million.

This is why he needs to figure out what's wrong with him, like maybe get some therapy or something and figure out why he has some bad games, it doesn't feel like it would be smart decision at all.

I believe we are going to see him get better, but I think it is going to be something which would be great. I think it is going to be something we can consider as important so we can definitely go check out what's going to happen, we are going to see how we can make some profits from PSG losing more games, because if Dembele returns, they will certainly lose some.

Yes a win is a win but sometimes the performance of a team that got them the win matters because sometimes that could indicate if they were just lucky or deserving nevertheless they are awarded the complete point even if they were lucky or not but for the purpose of improving it becomes important they take more of the performance that got them the win because against some other teams they my not win with same performance, and yes not all the times favourites gets to win, sometimes they do loose games.
I have no doubt about that, in fact that victory has oxygenated things well for the team because they lost against Arsenal, and now they lost 2-0 is quite a lot, for a team like PSG it is an open score and leaves much to be desired, of course we are used to seeing PSG with a bad reputation where they win and win, but seeing it from the better point of view they have to improve I think they need big-time players, famous players who are good, in this case they really need an Osimhen, players who make the difference and who have a hunger for victory.

At least PSG also did not make many purchases in the last transfer market and with results like this, of course PSG still needs some new players to be brought in of course to make player rotation to support the team's performance to remain good in all competitions. Because after all, if the team succeeds in the domestic league with good dominance in several consecutive seasons then with impressive results in the domestic league, it is a must for PSG to also succeed in the Champions League stage.

Because after all, basically PSG is a team that has advantages in many aspects including squad, coach and also financial and maybe some other things. Thus, PSG must be able to become a team that can get good results in all competitions even though they don't get a trophy,  but at least PSG can show good results in the Champions League as a representative of the best team in Ligue 1.

They are going to lose matches due to their poor effort and effort, you see why PSG can't when Arsenal can work hard.  They should have worked hard and put pressure in this match, but they couldn't.  I have said many times that companies look at their scope.  Arsenal players won this match by scoring 2 goals but PSG could not score a single goal and lost the match, while PSG is a good and strong team, they could not work hard.  Why would the company teach them when they are making a profit?  Don't bet too quickly but compare the opposing team and your team you are betting on and see which team is the best.  If I were to predict this match, I would put a lot of money on Arsenal because Arsenal looked sharp and performed well in this match.
You think PSG didn't put much effort in their game against Arsenal? Thn look well because I know that if it wasn't for the defense of the Gunners and their keeper, some wicked shots from Kolo Muani and others should have found the net. PSG performed as they should, the only thing was that they played Arsenal who are also good at what they do.
Desperation can be a deadly tool but if not handled properly, can cause big problems and in the case of PSG, if they don't act right, they can well on be beaten by Nice.
PSG did not have a striker capable of breaking the deadlock in that match and how in the second half they dominated still no goals were scored. Regardless of the strength of the opponent I still think enrique's squad has a chance to win, and honestly I question enrique why not include asensio? he just sat on the bench

Osimhen is good enough for an executor in attack and that's what PSG needs right now, I agree with you to strengthen their attack, but if you look at too many star players like before I think they can't do that either, considering they have done the same thing before and they haven't produced a champions league trophy despite having as many star players as before.
At least now it is necessary to balance and have some great attacking and assistants, because that is what is most needed for now if you want to make PSG much better, seeing the match against Arsenal who are very good at counter attacks, speed and ingenuity at the back should also be considered.
