PSG did the right thing by extending his contract as that'll make him expensive if other teams wants to come and buy him. Allowing his contract to reduce in years will make him become a target to other clubs and if he decides to leave, it'll be a lost to PSG. As PSG has extended his contract it'll make him more focused in the game as he won't have to worry about his contract discussion. Donnarumma has been a very goalkeeper for PSG, He has made many great saves that have kept his team in the game and seeing him get rewarded for his brilliance feels good. PSG faces Arsenal in the champions league, I hope I see him get features and perform brilliantly too.
With the extension of the contract, the goalkeeper can focus more on improving his performance because this season they will face a much more competitive competition. PSG must have learned from their previous failures in the Champions League and even though they lost Mbappe, it does not mean that they have lost hope of achieving their target in the Champions League. We will see PSG face Arsenal in the Champions League and it will be interesting to see Donnarumma's best saves.

This will be a crucial match as both teams will definitely play aggressively to get the win and the coach's tactics will determine how the final result will be for both. In terms of experience I am more optimistic that PSG will win the match but they should not underestimate the strength of Arsenal which is getting stronger.
I saw a lot of posts mentioning Donnarumma contract extension at PSG, has he indeed extended his current contract?
Because so far Donnarumma has been one of the players who is indeed very far from rumors and even before I thought that if he had a very long contract at PSG, so that there was no team linked to him in the last few transfer markets, Donnarumma was a player who was recruited when PSG was still obsessed with many former star players such as Neymar and Messi,  But apart from Donnarumma, of course, the star players who were recruited in the past have left PSG currently including Mbappe.

In a few days they will face a crucial match in the UCL by facing Arsenal, one way for them to keep their chances of qualifying for the round of 16 of course must be able to beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium later, but if we want to see Donnarumma toughness in the match it seems that it will not happen, because I see in the 3 matches has played by PSG he is actually absent and PSG prefers to play Safonov in three The match.

In this case, Donnarumma clearly made PSG fans amazed with himself who has become a starter since coming to Paris and competing with other best goalkeepers, this Italian goalkeeper is clearly one of the best goalkeepers today with the advantage of reflexes and also his ideal body is good for a goalkeeper in my opinion in this negotiation PSG must find a place for him so that he can last long because he is quite good under the crossbar, this player who once defended Milan clearly has good and quite impressive technique and in my opinion he deserves appreciation from management with a salary increase so that he feels appreciated there.
A good goalkeeper does need to be appreciated by the team management because it is a form of management's liking for a goalkeeper. Because for this season PSG must have good players in every line in order to be able to compete fiercely in the UCL and also in Ligue 1 where PSG is generally still quite strong. In addition to the goalkeeper, PSG also needs to pay attention to the defenders before they compete at Arsenal's home in two days because that is a match in the UCL where PSG must be able to win at their opponent's home.

Marseille somehow can't beat Strasbourg away for a couple of years and the streak still continues.  Grin  But I must also admit that it wasn't a lucky win. They played even better than Marseille mostly.

Now Marseille got 3 points behind PSG and Monaco. But no problem, it is very beginning. Besides probably many people are keenly waiting for the games among top 3 in later weeks of the season.  Smiley

I expected the final result to be like this, because the odds given by the bookies were doubtful for Marseille. Playing away against Strasbourg, De zerbi's team had to swallow a bitter pill with defeat. The reason is, Strasbourg is not a strong team, and last night's match was Strasbourg's second win in the 6 matches they played. Even though Marseille was superior based on ball possession, the home team had more opportunities. Marseille only had 1 big chance, while the opposing team had 4 big chances. Likewise with other opportunities, Strasbourg was slightly superior to Marseille. With this result, Marseille was unable to defeat Strasbourg in their five meetings in Lique 1. Well, Marseille lost three points to equal points with the two teams above them in the rankings. The next match, Angers and Montpellier are not strong opponents. They must get full points before facing the giant French League team, Paris Saint-Germain.

With the defeat to Strasbourg, Marseille was retaken from the top of the table by rival PSG. Marseille's aim is not only to finish in the top three but also to challenge PSG for the title and bring Marseille their first major trophy in 15 years. But after this match, De Zerbi's team is now losing the faith of the fans. Olympique Marseille's unbeaten streak has truly ended.

Strasbourg's forwards seemed unable to make any impression in the match. Emanuel Emegha missed three good chances and received a lot of criticism. During the 89 minutes on the pitch, he only touched the ball 28 times. Luckily, Diego Moreira helped Emanuel Emegha correct the mistake. As the only player to score, Diego Moreira deserved to be named man of the match. Diego Moreira was active on the left wing, ready to penetrate the penalty area whenever the opportunity arose. He also did a good job of blocking Mason Greenwood.

It seems that the atmosphere is not good between Ousmane Dembélé and PSG coach Luis Enrique. I don't know exactly what caused the conflict between them, but in my opinion a player, no matter how good he is, should not disrespect the coach. Ousmane Dembélé is performing well, and by having this kind of bad behavior, he is destroying everything good that he is doing this season.

Ousmane Dembélé has been dropped by Luis Enrique for the game against Arsenal!

The decision made by PSG manager is due to disciplinary reasons.

Ousmane and Luis Enrique had an argument after Rennes game and Spanish coach decided to drop Ousmane — as
@FabriceHawkins called.

In the photo we can see all the players who were called up for the game against Arsenal, and Dembélé was not called up. This shows how angry the PSG coach is with him and this is the worst path for Dembélé, because the coach will decide not to put Dembélé to play and Dembélé will be forced to leave PSG, and will probably go to some small team. He is destroying his career, I hope he fixes this. before it's too late. Because it's hard for a coach to exclude a player on purpose, but if the PSG coach did it, then it's because the PSG coach is disappointed with Dembélé's bad behavior and is already thinking about removing him from the team. Coaches hardly ever go back on their word in these scenarios.

A very brilliant performance from Strasbourg. They won with a narrow score against Marseille. I was very disappointed. They could have scored more than 1 goal. Their number 10, Emegha, was selfish in this game. They could have scored 3 goals if he weren't so selfish. He missed some great chances by trying to do it all himself.

Strasbourg's offense looked so awesome in this game; they properly built up from deep. Their player, Nanasi, showed outstanding performance. And i think it's likely Chelsea may take him  to go to the EPL if he performs at the current rate.

In the end, they showed they were a solid club. Their striker was too selfish, but they secured a vital point.

Don't you think the Ligue 1 is more fun this year? These trio are making it more competitive. If things go like this until the end it will be the most thrilling season in many years. Because you know how much boring PSG domination has been...

Well I wouldn't call that selfish really because he made an attempt at some point tho he held the ball for too long whereby he had options of giving an assist, sometimes it could be he felt he's attempt was going to give them a goal so it wasn't necessary enough to go ahead making too many passes. But a complete  look at the game and I will agree with you that Strasbourg did absolutely beautifully in that game,  I was surprised Marseille whom I had taught to be a better side couldn't contend brilliantly tho they made the little effort they could but weren't absolutely good enough, I just hope Strasbourg are able to maintain this form long enough through the season.

During all these three years, Donnarumma had a good performance and he was effective in PSG the result they got because of saving his team many times in the games we saw from this goalkeeper so far, the contract of Donnarumma is going to end in 2026 but PSG doesn't want to take any risk and they decide to extend the contract of this 25-year-old goalkeeper since they start negotiations for it.

Today we will witness an important match especially for Marseille, currently de Zerbi's squad has 13 points minus 3 points to catch up with the leader of the standings, namely PSG with 16 points and the temporary runner-up Monaco with the same points, if Marseille is able to achieve positive results, of course the competition in the standings for the time being will be more interesting in week 6.
Visiting Strasbourg's headquarters, I think the target of 3 points can be achieved by de Zerbi's troops, although it is undeniable that Strasbourg is a difficult opponent, because they have only suffered 1 defeat, 1 win, and 3 draws, this shows that a draw can happen again, in this case Marseille must work harder.
Let's just see the match that will start soon
The closing match of the 6th week seems to be fierce, where both teams are ambitious to get three additional points, especially Marseille who do not want to lose the momentum of sticking to PSG and Monaco at the top of the standings. On paper, even though Strasbourg acts as the host, Marseille is slightly more favored. The appointment of De Zerbi as the new manager has really changed many things, especially their style of play. Even in the previous match, Marseille managed to win over Lyon even though one of their players received a red card. The mentality that Marseille now has looks very ready to put pressure on PSG. Although this match cannot be said to be easy for Marseille, I personally predict that Mason Greenwood and his colleagues will be able to steal 3 points. Strasbourg has only managed to win one so far, maybe the best result they could get today is 1 point. We'll see if Marseille steps will stumble, with Strasbourg managing to create a surprise.

Donnarumma the Italian goalkeeper of PSG joined this team back in 2021 after leaving AC Milan once his contract was ended in Serie A and he decided to play for PSG until now.

Donnarumma was not in the squad for the match against Rennes for the same reason, he still hasn't recovered from an injury, the injury is not very serious and I hope he will return to the game soon. Both goalkeepers are the same age, they are 25 years old, but I have no doubt that for Enrique Donnarumma remains a priority goalkeeper and I hope that he will be able to play in the upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal, so far I have not seen information about how long Donnarumma may remain out of the game.

AC Milan must regret losing their young player for nothing and not extending his contract even though he is a good goalkeeper and has shown his greatness in making many saves. PSG is lucky to get this young player with free agent status and until now he has become a good goalkeeper and can be relied on I think PSG will continue to maintain him because if looking for a new goalkeeper it will not necessarily be the same moreover his age can still be maintained for the long term maybe PSG will add a clause to his contract until 2028/2029.
If Donnarumma does not want to leave the team, he can easily extend his contract. Because he is a very high-quality goalkeeper and Paris Saint-Germain can only buy another goalkeeper by paying a large transfer fee. This will be a big cost. I think they should give their current goalkeeper a high contract and ensure that he stays on the team for many years. However, there is an obstacle in front of them, and that is the success that Paris Saint-Germain has not achieved in international tournaments. Maybe Donnarumma wants to go to a more successful team. For example, if Real Madrid wants him, maybe he can transfer there from Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint Germaine have dominated the French league for far too long and must extend their dominance to Europe now before they can be considered as an European heavyweight. A win for the French champions at the Emirates will help improve the mentality and confidence of PSG but I strongly doubt they'll be able to beat Mikel Arteta's men.
And now they are still doing it, still dominating the French League very well. But there are some interesting things, namely Monaco who are trying to catch up.

There is also Marseille. It's just that, unfortunately this time Marseille failed to get 3 points against RC Strasbourg, who eventually had to settle for 3rd place. In fact, in this match, their efforts were quite good, it's just that their attacks could really be broken by RC Strasbourg players more effectively. Moreira's only goal became the winning goal. However, RC Strasbourg is a middle team there so they were able to provide a very good resistance for Marseille.

PSG 1 -0 Rennes

Luis Enrique is more worried about the Champions League match at the moment. PSG will play against the powerful Arsenal in the next Champions League match. Arsenal team is strong, also the match is Arsenal's home match. So it is challenging to perform well in this Champions League match against PSG. Even so, Luis Enrique will do his best to beat Arsenal.
Defeating Rennes 3:1 at home I think was a good preparatory performance for Paris Saint Germaine who'll travel to London in the midweek to face English Premier League club Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League competition. Like you rightly said, Arsenal is a very strong team that's very capable of beating any of the top teams in Europe but I believe that Luis Enrique has all it takes to fight them.

Paris Saint Germaine have dominated the French league for far too long and must extend their dominance to Europe now before they can be considered as an European heavyweight. The extension of the contract hasn't been confirmed just yet but they are still in the process according to the new made available to the media most recent although I don't know if there's a recent development about this, but this happens to be a very key and important personality for PSG to guard with all they have gat as they are not sure of getting any of same quality almost immediately of they loose him and it may affect them and cause them some form of set back which they may not be able to keep up with. Since his arrival he hasn't given PSG any reason to regret his deal so keeping him is going to be an important move for PSG.

To be fair Lyon was terrible at the start of last season as well, and they ended up being a lot better later on and finished fine. I am not saying that they will do the exactly same thing, but they did have a better start this time around, so it's possible that they could potentially have something that will benefit them and finish better, the potential is there and I think it will be fine without a doubt. I know that this looks like it is not a big deal for the time being because they are not at the bottom because they were literally at the very bottom last year for a few games, and then they started to do better.
Yes, that's what happened last season, and this season again their inconsistency has started.
Last season, I did support Lyon because of some players in the squad, but injuries to some of their main players caused them some poor performances last season which they corrected and had a better performance towards the end of last season. This season again, they have started with another inconsistent performance which the coach need to address early before they go far because the team don't look like an average team in the French League one, they are supposed to be competing along side PSG and other teams.

Quote
I believe that financial troubles could be causing a lot of internal turmoil for them, there are rumours that they are not even capable of paying for salaries on time, they are having some big issues and if this keeps up then someone may have to take over the team, someone who would not even pay for the team, just accept the deal in exchange of taking on the debt, it's going that way. I think if this keeps going then we are going to end up with something that will not be all that easy to ignore, but for now Lyon isn't looking as bad as people make them out to be at all.
Financial problems has been one the main trouble among several teams, and the only fast solution yo it is when the team change ownership so that the new owners can bring in money to get new players that will help the team to get back to limelight. I think if the owners don't have money to spend on the team to sign players, they should consider selling the team because it is a good team that has made name in the past.

There are some good matches in the French Ligue 1. But I am interested in Toulouse vs Lyon, especially Lyon. They managed to turn into a good team in the second half of last season. But they started this season badly. They also started the first half of last season badly. And they finished the first half of last season badly. This season they have only one win. They only managed to beat Strasbourg. They conceded goals in all their league games. On the other hand, Toulouse, just like Lyon, have had bad results in Ligue 1 this season. Both teams are of equal strength if we make a comparison according to their results. I'm going to bet on both teams to score in this match. I think it will be a game with a lot of surprises.
The matches between these two are going to be very tough and I have high hopes for Lyon.  But in the match between these two, Toulouse has won the match by 1 goal.  I expect Lyon to turn the match but they fail to score 1 goal due to some weakness and lost the match.  However Lyon is a strong team and could have won the match.  I have seen many teams go bad or good in the first season and become good and bad in the second season.  Those who see good perform should remain the same in the next season as well.  But they later become weak and waste their hard work.  Toulouse is strong than Lyon and I expect them to go ahead and like every match Lyon will destroy themselves in the next matches and join the weaker teams in this league.  If they bring themselves to be strong it is best, but they have neither the effort nor the courage to change sides in a match.

Strasbourg vs Marseille.

This match will be held in less than an hour, Marseille will play away against Strasbourg. The match confuses me a little, because the odds of both teams are not that significant. Although Strasbourg acts as the home team, they are not actually a strong team. In the 5 matches they played, Strasbourg was only able to win 1 match, 3 draws and 1 loss. On the other hand, Marseille only experienced 1 draw and 4 matches with full points. However, the odds of these two teams do not have a big difference, even though both teams have a gap in the standings. Strasbourg with odds @3.20, while Marseille with @2.17. The choice is clearly ideal to bet on Marseille, even though there are Marseille players who are absent and one player is punished for a red card. At least, De Zerbi's team wants full points to equal points with Paris Saint-Germain who are at the top of the standings. My guess is, because based on H2H the last 4 meetings the match always ended in a draw, that's why the bookies present odds with a small difference even though Marseille is still slightly more favored. but I'm pretty sure that De Zerbi's team will win this match.

That's true, but one thing you should also realize about Strasbourg is that Strasbourg is not completely weak if I consider the five matches played so far in Ligue 1. Although Strasbourg previously played against Rennes, Lyon and Lille but in fact Strasbourg still managed to provide very good resistance and in fact, Strasbourg is also quite fertile so far with always having a goal in every match. With Strasbourg's results in the previous five matches,  and considering the results Strasbourg has in head to head against Marseille which is more often a draw, then I think it is very reasonable if their odds difference in this match is not much different.

Although indeed, I also realize that I also still think Marseille will be able to not lose to Strasbourg, but that does not mean Marseille will get a victory too. Because I believe, Strasbourg is really capable of being able to play well in this home match, so I think a draw is still possible to happen again. Although for example Marseille managed to win, it seems that it is  not at all easy even if it only wins with a thin score, because Strasbourg is not a  completely weak team.
