PSG's squad may not have any big-name star players. But the bonding between the players in PSG's squad is very strong. So if the players of PSG can continue this kind of performance then there is a possibility of this team performing well in the Champions League as well. Due to the good understanding between the players, the team played well in all three matches in Ligue 1 and managed to win each match by a big margin. PSG got an experienced coach like Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique is also an experienced coach for the Champions League platform. So I think PSG has a great chance to do well in Champions League matches this season.

I don't really want to speculate too far, because we only have three matches that we have just watched. Although their performance is quite impressive, we don't know for sure their next performance. However, we agree that PSG is much more solid this season. The gameplay that Enrique implemented went very well. Although there were no mega star players, they performed impressively in their three matches. Let's just assume that PSG players are able to be consistent with their performance, it's just that they are not necessarily able to do the same thing in the Champions League. The problem is, some players have not been properly tested on a bigger stage. What I mean is the recruitment of young players, such as Barcola and others. Even so, Paris Saint-Germains is still a team to be reckoned with in the Champions League. Although, the chance to become a candidate for champion seems not yet time for them.

Not only now the PSG be favorite to win Ligue 1 even before the league starts, they have become a strong candidate to become champions this season, so I think there is nothing surprising about their current statistics including consecutive wins at the start of the season, PSG has a squad that is very capable and they are still better than the current rival teams, the quality of the squad and also the financial differences have been a strength for PSG to be able  their to easily win Ligue 1, but unfortunately the greatness that PSG have in Ligue 1 is not comparable to their performance and mentality in the Champions League which very bad so far, to be honest if we talk about Ligue 1 of course we can't deny that they are the strongest candidate to be champhionsip, while other teams are currently only competing for a place in the UCL, but for this season Champions League, I personally don't expect much from PSG.
I get what you're saying about PSG being favorites to win Ligue 1, they definitely got a strong squad and all that. But you know, their performance in the Champions League hasn't been all that great, so I ain't expecting much from them this season. Gotta see how it plays out though, never know what could happen in football, am I right?

Many doubted after Mbappe left. "Oh, they're done," they said. "They'll never be the same." You know what? They're proving everyone wrong. Big league. Keeping their core players is huge. Chemistry is key in soccer, and these guys have it. They rule Ligue 1, which is impressive.

Luis Enrique is the real deal, too. He knows how to win, and he's building a team thats tough as nails. They're not going to back down from anyone, not even Man City or Bayern. Now they constantly aim for the Champions League. PSG has a chance if they maintain playing with discipline and commitment. The group stage will reveal plenty. Can they replicate their Ligue 1 success in Europe? We'll see. One thing's for sure: PSG is worth watching.

It is still very early to talk about the bonding among the PSG players when we know what happened between Mbappe, Messi, Ramos and Naymer when they had the opportunity of playing together, PSG were seen as the team that would have won the champions league competition with the squad they had then but they were playing more of individual football because of the lack of bond in the team but now that Mbappe and the rest of the names are out of the team and the club now has a new coach and less big names, the coach should work on the performance of the team as well as the relationship among his players because I can't see that yet even though they have had an excellent performance in the beginning of the season so far.

PSG is playing good football and they still have what it takes to win the domestic league even without having big names in the team but the coach should focus the performance of his players on winning the Champions League this season because that's what the team needs right now since they are sure of winning the Ligue1.
They shouldn't have really expect those four to have that kind of great relationship though. Ramos and Mbappe are two players who one played for Madrid many years with Ronaldo, and the other can't wait to join Madrid soon following his idol Ronaldo, and Ramos was a little old too, and that meant those were the franco side, whereas the other two were Barcelona friends who played together and won together. So that four did not had the chemistry build to last, it was obvious it wouldn't work.

Even without any of that, getting three players who are that old, and injury prone as well, means that Mbappe was left so many times all alone. I think it looks like we are seeing them do better without any of them right now, they have no issues in the team.

Paris Saint-Germain is a superior club in Ligue 1, so it is natural that almost everyone predicts that they will be able to become champions in Ligue 1 again. The percentage is not 100%, but when compared to other clubs, their chances of becoming champions are very high.
While in the Champions League they always have difficulty becoming champions, even their best achievement was only being runner-up and if I'm not mistaken they have only done it once. This new format will also be more troublesome, because to be in the last 16, 16 teams must go through the play-off round and only 8 clubs can automatically qualify. I don't know yet whether this benefits them or not, because in the next round it will be as usual, while they also often fail in the knockout round.

PSG is always the favorite team to win Ligue 1 every season, but the truth is that they can never be 100%. It is football, and anything is possible at any time. We have seen different cases in various leagues, like in the Premier League, Serie A, and Bundesliga, when unexpected teams won their league.

In the Premier League, when Leicester City won the Premier League trophy, it was unexpected because, looking at their squad that season, I don't think anybody thought they would be the winner of the Premier League. But in the end, they were able to win it.

Also, let's look at the cases when Napoli and Leverkusen won their league trophies. I think they were not the teams everyone expected to win the trophy. So in football, it just happens once in a while that an unexpected team will perform well and, at the end, achieve their aim.

I know that PSG's squad can never be compared to any team currently in the French leagues. PSG has the best squad, but I can't say 100% that they will win Ligue 1. They are the number one favorite to win it, but I don't think there is 100% assurance in football predictions.

Although not 100% but 99% PSG can hold the title again this season without having to doubt it because as long as no team has made a big transfer to bring in professional players with high quality talent, I am sure PSG can dominate league 1. And related to competing in the UCL, with the current new system even weak teams have the opportunity to get lucky to qualify for the last 16. While PSG still has a good enough performance to try their luck in this new system as long as Enrique is able to implement the right strategy. Dembele and Kolo Muani are very productive and very reliable.

On the one hand, it's actually quite boring to talk about Mbappe's move to Real Madrid, but on the other hand, it's also very interesting when we fry Paris Saint Germain because they watched their favorite player win his first trophy with Real Madrid. Lol

https://x.com/realmadrid/status/1824000576071299544

Look at the man who was defended tooth and nail by Paris Saint Germain last season, now he's wearing a Real Madrid uniform and has also won a trophy in his debut match with his new team. I don't mean to belittle Paris Saint Germain, but looking at what Real Madrid has, then at Real Madrid Mbappe's chances of winning more prestigious titles are even greater. Paris Saint Germain must share in the joy that Mbappe is feeling right now, I think that's the best way for them. After all, they have to be willing to see their mainstay player succeed with another team.
It’s normal in football, the PSG fans will get used to it very soon because that’s how Monaco fans do when PSG signed Mbappe from them, and they get used to it after a while.
I don’t think PSG fans will not be happy for him because of the records he has already set for the team, they should be happy for him since he has helped the team achieve greatness and he is among the players that make PSG great and famous to several people that only come just to watch him.
I think it’s time for Mbappe to lift the Champions League title since he has already won the UEF super cup.
No player is permanent at any club, each club and each club's supporters must accept that once a player has signed a contract with their team, that player may later terminate their contract and move to another club. Mbappé broke ties with PSG and moved to Real Madrid and has already won a major title in the first match of his career, and he is now doing well in the La Liga tournament.

PSG needs to work on the players they have now and how to get better performance out of those players. The players they have in the club are not enough for psg so psg need to recruit more quality players to the club so that they can compete well in all kinds of tournaments with every team.

That's true because most humans can't predict how a team will go in any league, but for the Ligue 1 title I think everyone would agree that PSG are the strongest candidates for that this season. But for the Champions League which has been accompanied by a new format, it will certainly be quite difficult for any team, not just PSG. Because every team must have players who are physically fit and have a better mentality to play with a fitter condition because the new format in the UCL now is a format that is a bit physically draining for the players.

PSG is still able to play high quality football because they didn't sell most of their key players. They lost Mbappe on free transfer and sold Manuel Ugarte (Manchester United), Hugo Ekitiké (Frankfurt) and Danilo Pereira (Al-Ittihad Club). All other key players were maintained. I guess this is the reason why they are still coordinated, unlike others that are trying to find rhythm due to the introduction of new players. PSG gives priority to the Champions League and I am sure Luis Enrique will be doing all he can to make the club make an impact in the competition. I am not sure that Qatar Sports Investments headed by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will be patient with Luis if he fails to win the competition this season.
and another reason is because there is no other team in Ligue 1 that can match PSG's performance so that the departure of several players and even Mbappe does not affect anything for the results obtained by PSG in the domestic league.
Maybe later in the Champions League will be the real proof whether PSG can be better without Mbappe or not.

Currently Luis Enrique is building a process with the PSG team and it has not been seen that there has been good development in his second season and also for changes not much has happened for those who are targeting to be able to win the CL title, I think it will be difficult for PSG.

There are two teams with 0 points in the league right now. These are Angers and St Etienne which have just promoted to the Ligue 1. Auxerre made a better start than them honestly. They are able to score at least even though they have defensive problems. But we don't see any good defensive or offensive performance from the other two. For now, they are the biggest candidates for relegation.  Sad

In that case, I hope the last team to relegate wouldn't be Lyon. Because their game isn't convincing at all. I don't know how they managed to return to the point they started last season...

For Angers it's just a bad start and I'm pretty sure they'll bounce back in the next game. Maybe not immediately but at least they know that getting relegated will only wear them out. We know they were relegated two seasons ago and then they were back in Ligue 1 one season later and I hope they learn from their mistakes.

St Etienne I think are the more likely to be relegated and I don't think even if they had a chance it would be a big one at all. Lyon always have a way of finding something that's missing and they did that in the middle of last season to save themselves from the relegation zone. That could happen again and we know the bigger the problems they have the more confidence they have to win.

PSG always dominates Ligue 1, even without Mbappé. But Champions League has always existed onlu in their dream. They've choked year after year. All that money, all those stars, and they can't crack the code. Real Madrid, Bayern, the big boys from La Liga, the Premier League - PSG folds like a cheap suit against them. Tactics, mentality, who knows? But something's missing

This season? Maybe. Maybe not. They've got the talent, and the squad has more connection since Mbappé's departure. They need to adapt, evolve, and find a way to beat the best. Until they do, it's all talk. Let's see if they can finally walk the walk

Difficult to be in the main league if not financially supported to buy the players needed and most likely they will be re -degraded after the season ends. The two teams do not have a good depth of the squad and they are quite weak in terms of defense. When viewed from the second match I doubted they were able to stay in Ligue 1 because of the competition that was quite competitive and lost a lot of points would make it difficult for them to stay in the main league.

Lyon will improve slowly and I am quite optimistic that they will not be degraded because indeed statistically their abilities are above three teams that have just received promotional rations. Although their game is bad there is always an opportunity in the middle of the season where they will come out of various pressures to get points.

PSG still has a good performance in Ligue 1. Their quality is indeed better than other teams. But we'll see later how they play in the Champions League. There are strong teams that PSG must face and they must be ready to compete.
The group phase faces Girona, Arsenal, PSV, Atletico Madrid, Munich, Salzburg, Man City, and Stuttgart. It is clearly not an easy opponent for PSG. And Enrique must prepare his team well if they want to qualify for the next round.

PSG remains one of the strongest teams in Europe. They must prove it.
We agree with PSG's dominance in League 1, they are still a strong candidate for the champion this season even though some of their key players have left, but PSG's strength has not decreased so far, in fact I see PSG becoming more solid under Luis Enrique. Yes, we know that the achievement that has not been realized is winning the UCL title, but we must remember that this competition is different from League 1, the champion mentality is shown in this competition. Talking about the opponents that PSG will face in the UCL later, it is very clear that it is not an easy opponent to beat, Luis Enrique must prepare his team very carefully if he wants to qualify for the next round. And I do not underestimate PSG's strength in this competition, but if it is to lift the trophy I still doubt it until now.

Champions League has mostly been one big challenge for PSG over the years and the day they eventually win the champions league, I believe they will forever remember that season as it's been one of their biggest dreams and anticipated achievements of all times as their domestic league has never been of much challenge to them ever since they got winning and dominating their domestic league due to their level of sophistication which is second to non in the ligue 1. If they strive better, this season they may likely get a. Good chance at it but their finest will be opposing them from Madrid and that is obviously a huge threat that cannot be ignored as it's definitely going to sweep them off their feet if they eventually meet.

But in this thread, PSG's performance in UCL has nothing to do with their results in League One. They struggle in UCL, but completely overpower their competitors in League One.

I expect nothing from PSG in this competition. They will obviously win it easily. It's because they're the strongest team. However, some clubs can compete with them, like Marseille and Monaco. But believe me, it's simple to know if PSG will win the current season without put lots of effort.

It's different when you're talking about PSG's performance in UCL. You shall write it in UCL thread instead of here.

Take a look at my merits, It's lucky number
Ligue 1 always belongs to PSG and AS Monaco, that's why the average person makes AS Monaco the main challenger to PSG almost every season, although sometimes we see different competitions, for example Lille who managed to win the Ligue 1 title in the 2020/21 season. This season we have an old challenger who is worthy of being a challenger again, yes, I'm talking about Marseille here, De Zerbi + Greenwood are signings that bring good luck to the team, I don't understand why Brighton doesn't extend De Zerbi's contract, even though he's a great manager.
The problem now is that Monaco is not in a good situation, even in the last few seasons they have had a hard time breaking through the competition at the top and they have been thrown to 5th and even 6th position. Monaco is still not that consistent, so that is also the reason why I personally still doubt Monaco's progress in Ligue 1. Not to underestimate, but that's what I've seen in the last few seasons. However, it is possible that they will be able to play better and more consistently this season, so that they can provide very tight competition to Paris Saint Germain. At least they can make Paris Saint Germain not easily win the title in Ligue 1, because during the seasons they were very comfortable to become champions.

I don't think you're looking too deeply into this league, which seasons are you referring to? AS Monaco have had a good record over the past 4 seasons, they have only been out of the top 5 zone once, apart from that they have always been in the top 3 of the standings. You also said that AS Monaco are not in good condition, what are you basically saying, look at the standings, they're in fifth place with the same points as Marseille, Nantes and Lens. It's not good to draw conclusions too quickly, especially since the standings in this league still have a lot of dynamics going forward.
