your contributions are very much welcome as we learn together the many demerits of gambling addiction to inform both those currently addicted and intending addicts of the dangers of that irrational lifestyle.

Gambling addiction has led to a lot of failed marriages. When gambling addicts spend more than they should on gambling it might affect the family's finances negatively and the other spouse might become offended. When a spouse is subjecting the entire family to lack and want because of uncontrollable gambling habits, this behaviour might not be tolerated for too long. This can cause disagreement and in some extreme cases, it could lead to divorce.

People suffering from gambling disorders might suffer from social stigma. The community might see them as good for nothing because they don't have control over gambling. Such stigma can lead to denying them business, employment or even political opportunities.

Gambling addiction could also make an individual engage in criminal activities. When these addicts don't have money to satisfy their gambling urges, they can engage in illegal activities to raise funds for gambling.

Another thread about gambling addictions and their resultant effects on the addict's finances and physical well-being,  this is why we have always been making constant commitments and contributions to this kind of topic,  and as a way of warning others to stay off possible addictions, it is very much important also to place everything on it right proportion as to make a clear stance of what we should take gambling to be.

Gambling is a way of entertainment,  and anyone who takes it otherwise may have him or herself to blame for every resultant negative outcome from it to be on the safer side,  one should only gamble with an amount of money that one can easily let go of if anything goes wrong.

Addiction is not good for gamblers, similar to financial loss. The later leads to addiction. Lack of control pushes gamblers to get addicted to gambling due to loss of money. However, lots of gamblers deal with financial loss, and abandon addiction. Yet that doesn't erase the chances of addiction in the gambler's life. Whatever threat the financial loss pose on the gambler, he'd have to deal with tempting urge of gaining his funds. So, if a gambler is able to restrict himself from being compulsive, his financial loss wouldn't mean a thing compared to the addicts. Gamblers who are addicted suffer from both financial loss and mental disorder. Which is dangerous to his health than what financial loss could cause him. No body will be happy recalling he, at some point in his life, was aggressive to his loved ones and caused his family pains. Such thought is harmful to the brain and could get a gambler depressed. In a nutshell, being on a safe side of financial loss is quite better than losing control and getting addicted.

An addiction to anything is flagged as an error and then when it's narrowed down to gambling or drug addiction just makes it the worse of it kind. The above listed facts are all true about when someone is a gambling addict and this just shows some damaging the effects are and still yet so many persons out there still don't know what's involved in getting too fancy with a particular habit. Addiction is what every gambler avoids and that what's also paints the image of gambling as a bad activity in the society because of the side effects seen from most gamblers who have turned mental.

What OP is saying is of course true and we don't even have to go into details like what influence on children it has and such. All we need to say is that a financial loss can be a one-time event and can end up being temporary. An addiction will lead to a financial loss that can be permanent, meaning that you will never regain what you had. You will have your ups and downs but at the end you'll always be at the bottom because you won't even know what to do with the money you win. The only idea you'll have is to spend it at a casino again.

The only one I consider as caused by gambling addiction that's not related to financial losses is the health challenges. The other three are still tied to it. There are gamblers who wins but still lacks sleep from hours spent on playing. Sleep deprivation is dangerous if it happens regularly.

They both work in hands, if you're the addicted type, then you're likely to loose more money to gambling because you do that often even without being careful about how you're gambling being an addict type, there's no much difference and the implications as well will also go similar, you gamble too often and you loose more money on gambling and that is already a sign of being an addicted gambler.

Negative impression on children/ dependents: His addiction can corrupt the good intentions of the younger generation looking up to him for inspiration, they may grow up to see gambling as a way of life and follow the wrong footprints.

So it goes back to where it started and maybe it's all in the family or someone he knew when he was a kid. And most probably the violence as well is learned during his younger days hearing some arguments and heated discussions of couples about money.

It is a wonder how some adults who have no background in gambling found their way to addiction though.  It could be the newfound wealth also, they got filthy rich they don't know how to spend it.
We as parents would really be having that huge factor affecting on how our children would really be ending up on which that seeing things on what you've been doing or the things that they've been grown up with would really be a huge determining factor on how they would really be able to make themselves look like in near future. If they are someone whose really that been exposed to gambling activity
neither they've been able to see it on their parents or surroundings then they would really be also ending up on being a gambler. This is why it would really be that important that if you are someone
whose really that involved with gambling, then you should be at least responsible on trying out to hide it as much as possible. We do know the repercussions on what gambling could give.

From looking at people who have become addicts to gambling and other habits, there is barely ever any good it has to them and then to people around them. Anyone who has not had anyone to observe or have not seen anyone who is addicted must have heard or read stories, and also warnings from others in this forum an outside about the general dangers of addictions.

VIOLENCE!

Might not really that too common
When a violent person starts gambling, and then become addicted, they can show and display violence which was already a problem they had before they started gambling. Gambling and loosing may just become the trigger.

VIOLENCE!

Might not really that too common or often but this is one of the most known things that make someone do able to commit out on which they would really be that making themselves that
getting violent person on the time that they are on such extreme addiction on which if they do want or likes to play but they cant really be able to do so because of inability to play
due to lack of funds, then this is where that kind of criminal thinking would be thinking. Addicted people wont really be that already into the good state that they would
be thinking on which thing is good and bad.

This is why as much as possible it would really be that best on trying out to avoid yourself on doing gambling if you do find yourself that being too impulsive
or doesnt really like on losing money in the first place.

I think in order to be an addiction it would have to cause negative effects beyond just losing money as that is to be expected if you aren’t bad at math.

I would agree though that gambling has many potential negative side effects if you abuse it. This is why I always say to consider gambling like paying for entertainment. If you win money, that’s a side perk. It shouldn’t be the only goal or you will be disappointed more than satisfied.

The addiction is the common one in the trading and the gambling.Because the loss causes the addiction to the user, the user keep try to recover the loss money from the gambling site.If the gamblers use the money which is essential for the real life, then he need to get back the money. So he get the money from the other sources to play the game again to retrieve the loss. But until the gambler create their own strategy,he never retrieve the money from the gambling site. The gamblers who had the potential alone choose to play again the same game.If they fail to get the money back, the better option is to quit the game by accepting the previous losses in the gambling site.Accepting loss also help you to get away from the big loss.

Yes, gambling addiction can do a lot of damage to the lives of people who choose to become addicted. Some people have doubt that gambling addiction cannot cause violence, such as domestic violence, but I can confirm that it has caused domestic violence in some families. The husband will steal the wife's money and gamble with it; he ends up losing the money and returning home with empty pockets, when the wife asks about their money, they get aggressive. There have been different true stories like that in my location.

There was this man from my community; he was a fan of a football club I don't know, so one day his club had a match, and as the match was going on, the man was watching live in his house, but when the game ended and his team had lost, he angrily pulled his TV from the wall and smashed it on the ground. I wonder what people with this kind of mind can do if they are gambling addicts.

I have also talked about the story where the father of one of my female friends used his daughter's money to gamble, while the money was supposed to be used to acquire a plot of land.

There are many bad experiences that I have witnessed with people who are gambling addicts, and it is not very appealing at all. I can't help in some situations, but only to wonder how people can allow themselves to get wallow in a habit that they know will be harmful to their affairs in life.

This may be true but I did not experienced it when I was a gambling addict. Although hardly will you notice anything like mood swing from me. But to easily know an addict, you can noticed the gambler mood just change from good to moody all of a sudden.

It is true that gambling addiction can lead to serious funds loss, bankruptcy, unsettled loan involvements, properties auctioning and other irritable financial behaviors that depicts frustration and depression.

We have said it on this forum countless number of times that we should gamble with the money that we can afford to lose.

A little more observation shows clearly other effects of such addiction to just not the addict alone, but those around them, be it friends, family or neighbors. Here are a few of them:
