I don't want to argue that gambling is good or bad but it would be more accurate to interpret whether gambling is good or bad as it varies from person to person. Gambling is an activity that can provide a person with entertainment and excitement only if it is played for entertainment purposes. It is possible to say that gambling is not a bad thing if a person can prevent his/her own emotions when gambling and continues to play in a disciplined manner. On the contrary, if the individual is addicted to gambling, gambling is a bad habit for this person because due to addiction this individual can't control himself/herself, can't maintain discipline and constantly loses money. Of course, as the level of addiction, other personal losses such as losing relationships with the people around him/her also occur.

For this reason, I think gambling should be evaluated as good or bad which will literally vary from person to person. If a person has reached the level of addiction it is very important for this person to control himself in a disciplined manner and stay away from gambling. However, if the person can control himself with a certain discipline and gambles only for entertainment purposes it would not be correct to interpret gambling as bad in such a case.

Gambling most definitely can be fun, it's when people approach it with the wrong or unrealistic expectations that they fall into trouble. It has been been a game of varying forms that has been played between people since the beginning of time. Gambling is as bad as drinking and smoking. Do enough of these you will also ruin yourself. We can’t avoid every harmful habit out there because sometimes harmful&dangerous is fun. Driving high speed is dangerous too but probably every male driver did it at least once in their life time. I was fishing on the dock earlier in the day and some old fuckfaced lady came by and buzzed into my ear: “you can’t fish here it is forbidden.” Thank you mother fucking party pooper I was just about to leave anyway. Even though she was right (There were people swimming in the sea but they weren’t near), I was doing it for a reason because it was more fun to do it there. Gambling is good for a lot of people OP, and they are doing good with gambling because they can control their urge to make large amount of money from gambling. To many addicted gamblers out in the world today, they don't have a safe strategy for gambling, they use any money they get their hands on, either from their salary or money that was meant for something else, such people are called irresponsible gamblers.

Gambling isn't this bad OP, some people are making good amount of money from sports bets and casino games, they are just doing it using their senses, there is no point chasing fortune with gambling, do it as a responsible fella and it won't ruined your life, it's not a must for everyone to gamble every day, do it only when you have money you don't need.

This is unfortunate but since you admit that gambling ruins your life, you are on your way to recovery, we hope for your full recovery and your family, there are big risks in gambling this is why this section of this forum is all about fighting addiction we have so many guide and tutorials about how to prevent addiction.

Those who are easily addicted or prone to addiction should stay away from gambling until such time they can handle it and they have full control of their gambling activities, The community promotes responsible gambling, and it advice all people to play money what they can afford to lose and never chase losses.
