The stress reduction aspect of gambling depends on the mentality of each person, after all something that can be incredibly stressful for you can be something relaxing for me and vice versa, however it is true that if someone does not gamble in moderation and they are abusing it then it is very unlikely they are going to get any stress reduction as there is not really a single person that likes to lose money they cannot afford to lose in a consistent basis.

Not only in consistent basis which I agree everyone get stressed after they lose the money but even if you overdo it like a couple of times.I never thought I would get sad because I lost some money that I can afford to lose but yesterday I thought to myself today I am going to play with a high bet and see in a short amount of time if I will be a winner or not,I play slot machines, and sadly I lost everything in less than 5 minutes.I thought to myself that I tried to hit it big and should not be worried, however my wife directly noticed that I was not in the normal mood I am always,so deep inside me I was stressed even when losing money I can afford to lose.
That is an interesting observation, even if you lose some money that you had already planned on using to gamble if the speed at which you do so is too fast then you may still get some lingering regrets about it, this is something that I think it has happened to everyone and I include myself as well, as I remember that once I decide to use the martingale strategy and I got busted in less than 10 minutes when the chances of that happening that fast were very low, it was a bad loss but I learned a lot from it.

Very good summary of benefits people have through gambling. I agree with all the points of your list, except the stress reduction part. Losing money can be a very stressful experience that can affect us for a long period of time. Gambling is a very exciting experience that leads for me to a lot of what if thoughts. Whenever I lose a big bet my brain keeps asking me why I didn't stop at the right time. And I am trying to look at ways how I could have prevented that loss. Losing is part of gambling and we need to learn to deal with it. Learning new skills is a very important part for me in gambling, I would put it on top of your list. Through gambling I learned to take better care of my money, keep track of my income and expenses and have fixed budgets. It also helped me to deal with emotions and evaluate risks better and more quickly.

It's normal to be sad over losing money that you can afford to lose. I guess it's our body's natural response. After all, we have emotions and even though we try hard to control it and don't let it affect us in our everyday routine, there will be times that it will took over unconsciously. Just like being in an attitude for the day or out of energy.

I guess it's really a matter of mind conditioning and at the same time moderation in gambling. Despite the pros of gambling, we can't really say it will outweigh the cons most especially if you frequent lose bets. Self-discipline is really a must so you won't get caught up betting over and over after a win or loss.

I really like the way various people see gambling and what they can do about it, how they take it, what it produces for them, and how day by day they can improve their strategies? however, I think that I have always characterized myself by seeing gambling as a way of having fun, and at the same time I do not feel shielded, since seeing it that way, I would not see it as a job because it is very easy to lose money and fall into addiction and that is something delicate, therefore everything that OP says is very useful, especially for novice people who enter gambling looking for impossible goals or who only give in to luck.

Yeah, gambling should be fun, we have several strategies in our sleeves and says that this might be the day that it will eventually work. But then again, we lose that day and think of another one. But if we won, they we will continue to do it the next day until it doesn't work anymore.

So that is the beauty, sometimes you think that you are one step of the game and then you are in good mood and that you are lucky. But in the end, still boils down to moderation, as it is the key to extend our playing days and so we will have enjoyment.

I stand with Ukraine.
~ It's a fact that negative emotions can weaken your overall health. Even your immune system is affected by stress big time. If done in moderation, each session of gambling can be improving your mood, thus making you healthier. And if you are less stressed, you can work better, so you can improve your financial situation too.
Gambling could only hit us negatively if we're not handling it the right way to the extent that we're abusing even our health for too much playing. Everything that's being done in moderation isn't a bad thing. We should know our limits and control when it comes to gambling so it will not harm or even affect our lives the wrong way.

Right, and gambling is not something unique in this regard. Hundreds of thousands people die from overeating annually.  But we are not saying "Eating is bad for you", right? Overeating is bad, that's right, but eating in moderation is good.

I'm not trying to say that gambling is as necessary for a human being as eating. We can live without gambling, in fact, we can live without many things we use for entertainment. It's just, life is less fun without them.

Only remember of moderation. Don't be killing yourself with your entertainment.

The last part I strongly agree with it. It doesn't give financial benefit even in moderation but worst, it will make you spend money. When put in together all that "moderated time and money spent" it will be a lot of waste.
About the fun part, it is half stress reduction and half making gamblers happy. It gives pleasure to your drive to win but that is momentarily. After you calm your endorphins down, you will be back to reality with not much memories of the win after a week or more. Even if you do remember it, it's not that much fun unlike other activities where memories are kept.
It's a biased article, no doubt as it only points out to the pros.
It does give financial benefit in moderation because when you play in moderation, you will stop after you had enough so you won't bust all you got including some of your winnings. Not only financial but also the benefit of having fun and to relieve your stress. These two can change if you gamble the opposite way like you are too aggressive or addicted.

You will only lose more money in the game and this can also make you more stressed instead of being happy so I totally I agree on the article. On the part you said memories. That's true if we are gambling in moderation because the win will only be small or considered to be normal. Same goes for the fun. We are used to them already.

OP you make some valid points but in the end gambling is essentially a bad habit that will rear its ugly head at one point or another.  I mean in moderation I guess it's fine and yeah it can string together some immediate near terms pros.  But most people don't gamble in moderation and if they do, lose more than they win ultimately creating some bad MOJO in theor life.
That is very right - gambling is not a good habit - like drinking alcohol and too much porn and adultery.
These are killing habits. They bring no good to you - but you end up repenting for being indulged into these unproductive activities.
Whatever things you are getting involved into then you should really be mindful on what are the things that it could give if you do make yourself involving that much or making it as a habit.
Everything on this world and everything would be excess in terms or engagement would really do harm into someone.

Wouldnt matter if its gambling, alcohol or even as simple making decisions in life would be having particular risk on messing up everything if you arent that sensible or aware
in regarding with your actions.
Everything should be on moderation if you dont like for things to get fucked up.

Everyone has negative connotations when it comes to gambling activity but little that we know that gambling when done in moderation can offer great benefits to our mental and physical health and finance.

Engaging in gambling in moderation will greatly save us financial losses compared to engaging in entertainment outdoor.  Aside from that, recreational activities such as picnics, watching movies, and playing arcade games often have our finance in an outflow system.  The only reward is entertainment and happiness whereas, if engage in gambling there is a chance of getting back what we spent since gambling always involved a chance of getting back what we bet in a certain multiplier. Of course, we are talking about gambling in moderation.  Besides this kind of control, we are far from developing a gambling disorder.

Aside from the personal benefits, we are also contributing to our country's income by playing in their gambling infrastructure.  It is proven that the development of gambling addiction in a gambling engagement in moderation is highly unlikely.  With that, do you think it is worth moderating our gambling engagement to maximize the benefits of gambling activities?

That article brings up a lot of good points, gambling can be like most things in life - if it's done in moderation then it can be fine. In fact it can be help in many ways like those suggested, I personally love buying a lottery ticket every now and then, just to dream about how it might be possible to share the winnings - knowing full well how ridiculously unlikely you are to be the winner. Socializing like you say is another good one, if people go into a casino with a set amount in mind to spend - win or lose - then you can psychologically classify it as any other form of spending. Instead of dropping 50 bucks on a cinema ticket, drinks and popcorn you can easily have a little gamble with the same amount of money and time invested in a different form of entertainment.

Those studies seem kinda biased. Maybe some casinos paid for them, so we can't be sure about their objectivity.
Gambling cannot help for socialization, especially online gambling. I've gambled a lot in the past and it didn't make more social or talkative.
An introverted and socially awkward person will always remain socially awkward.
All this BS about gambling making you happy and reducing stress seems artificial. Many other activities can make you happy and reduce stress, like drinking alcohol, playing video games, porn, smoking weed. That doesn't mean that those activities are healthy. This is a pretty artificial way to  make you happy and less stressed out. One more thing is that gambling doesn't bring financial benefits, even if it's done in moderation.1

In fact, gamblers who advise gamblers are not necessarily the same as those who advise, and it is a fact and realize that the house always wins and the wins we get are not worth the losses they suffer.
make gambling for fun, relieve stress and also fill spare time by preparing sufficient funds, and stopping when you win is the best way and stop when you lose when the funds that have been prepared run out. Enjoy the game and play quietly.
And this way will always get lucky and stop with a firm attitude and to get full luck. It's not easy, but it's the process that makes us smart gamblers.
I am picking one clause from your statement. Gamblers who are the vice another gambler in the same thing but the only difference is that the device may go or might go based on the past experience of the other gamblers so I have not seen a situation whereby gambler advice soccer gambler or casino gambling or cricket gambler and other numerous gamblers for better solution of skipping the methods of playing gambling. The only thing that will come from them its same strategies of betting and win. That mindset is in them.

Otherwise, if he takes it as a profession, he will be degraded.
In what sense a person can be degraded if he took gambling as a profession? Isn't this too judgemental?

There's even nothing to judge to a professional gambler anyway,  coz professional means you're earning, and when you're earning you are actually responsible enough to sustain your daily necessities.
So, I don't see any sense on why he thinks professional gambling is degrading lol.
I can say being a dirty politician is way more degrading.

gamblers who lack control usually always want to get high wins and as a result he loses a lot of money, self-control issues are the most crucial for anyone who enjoys gambling activities including myself.

When these gamblers won, that fuels their excitement to bet more. It's a great winning experience for them.

Therefore, even if they win or lose, they will still end up not controlling themselves.

is this your experience? if yes, you should learn and try to control yourself by starting from the intention.

Those who win big already are even most prone to ending up worst since they know already the feeling of having a big win and they will continue to pursue it no matter what. Unlike those gamblers who will always lose that budget are limited.

well we both seem to have had the same experience, what you say I think is a personal experience.
well with what you said, I think someone has gone through many experiences and events in gambling activities regardless of winning or losing.

At the very least, a gambler should ask himself, why is he gambling? if only to pursue a bigger win than before, I make sure what you say is true.
but if a person is gambling only for relaxation, fun and entertainment i think he will not be too chasing big wins which will lead to consecutive defeats and potentially addiction.

Bigger wins mean bigger stakes. After winning by a big number the other possibility to happen is you won't go small anymore.
It's like a virus where you will pursue to win back what is lost or if you are successful in doing so you have a new bottom bet. If you won at 10 you won't go back to 1, win or lose.
It requires a ton of discipline for your mindset to be normal again and not be consumed by greed.
IMO, it had always been my stress reliever and gambling fills me with excitement. I always try to bet on different numbers to avoid that type of greed.
