To be clear the fork needed to happen ASAP, and exchanges were looking for a solution. We knew that doing the update so quickly was not ideal, this was not something we had wanted. However, given the options and the state of the network it was the best way forward to provide stability and allow products and applications to continue functioning normally. Especially given that exchanges were looking for updates.

That's too bad anyway that you let this situation happen and eventually were in position of emergency hard fork.

You should think in advance how to improve network stability and act proactively.

Today I lost another 19 GAME in game.poolto.be pool. The admin updated the new wallet and all of my coins (confirmed & unconfirmed too) are lost (or stolen)! I mining more than 3 years but never happened this situation like these two 2 mining pools.

I'm very dissapointed in this Gamecredits coins and the amateurish admin of mastermining.net & poolto.be!
Very well Guys now you lost some new and old user too!   Shocked

it's not the pool-admins fault to solve an unresolveable problem of this communication-disaster.

announcing a hard fork after 24h of releasing a git-commit (not a tested version) is a to short to react.

now the pools have to decide:

- follow the old chain with currently a working exchange on it (but loosing all new created coins after forking block if chainswitch is done)
or
- update to new chain with no working exchange and loose all new created coins after forking block instantly

there is no good solution for pool-operators

ps: an average GAME pool need 120 confirmations for block validate the game.poolto.be need 240 confirmations.

Are window wallets expected today?
Unfortunately no. The windows wallet is taking the longest to complete after sufficient testing. However, we expect to have all the wallets released in the next couple of days.

There will of course be no penalty for not updating immediately. It does however mean that users can't send for the Core/QT wallets for a couple days.
Wouldn't this be a golden opportunity after the hard fork to make it ASIC resistant and more GPU compatible? I mean, games are played on GPUs right? Isn't that an irony?  Many things wrong with this coin, it should be a coin for gamers first of all.

That being said, the Windows GC client is okay but it doesnt handle more than a single GPU.

First of all, with this fork passed we will be preparing for future updates to the client. It is our intention of making the network as scalable as possible. Also, we will release multiple GPU support for the client. That wasn't out yet simply because the application was released in early January. We've been developing and testing deployment of advanced mining features, and they will be out soon.

okay thanks for the reply, wish this coin the best 'cos I am a gamer. But the fact that it's not very GPU friendly so to speak, is a no go for me as of now, despite the fact of loving the idea behind this coin....

Well the idea isn't to mine GAME directly. Why? If we mine GPU coins like ZCash, we then sell these coins on exchanges and purchase GAME which we automatically give to our users. We're scaling up quickly, and it's our goal to get to a point where our system is literally buying thousands of GAME off the market daily. In my eyes that benefits everyone, gamers and investors.

G'day!
iSpace pool is still on 0.9.4.4 and their mining has been wedged for days. Someone should politely nudge them in the ribs and wake them up.

The idea of the coin itself is very pleasing. If the organizers will be able to translate the idea into reality, the project will be exciting, and gamers will support, there are a lot of them now.

Game credits wasnt an ico, it is mined by pow scrypt algo.  If you are talking about mobilego then yeah thats been over for awhile now

It seems that only spammers who want to increase the number of post or otherwise just lazy and do not want to read.

Seriously, who releases new code and a fork within 24 hours of the code release?  I pulled the code and built on March 6.  New code was pushed March 7 with a fork within a day of release?  This doesn't give time for any exchanges or pools to update properly.  I'd be surprised if you aren't delisted from a bunch of exchanges that were still on the original code and had orders go through that they'd already completed for coins that are no longer valid on your new chain.

Our network was having problems that needed immediate fixing. This wasn't an ideal situation. We began communicating with exchanges about a week and a half prior to the fork, filling them in on the situation. On a whole exchanges and pools understood the need for the update having seen what was going on. Our network suddenly wasn't following the 90s emission schedule, and blocks were coming at random intervals which opened the network up to some serious consequences. Updating ASAP, although inconvenient, was the best option.

H2C pool loses all GAME mined after fork (goes to the wrong chain after block although I update wallet at 07.03). The miners are ecstatic. This fork made in a hurry brought a lot of losses to the exchangers and pools and seems not to have solved the problems that had to be solved. All that is very strange. Few days peoples lose GAME because of selfish mining attack then this fussy hardrork.
You talk you communicating with pools but I don't see it. I updated wallet when saw the commit with fork code but anyway I let down pool users.

P.S. Why discord? Why don't you update coin announce and/or coin homepage post as all other coin developers do?

The last 5 blocks was orphan. This is normal?

Dear Mr. Gamecredits - Jack Kuveke
Why don't do anything because it seems gamecredits have global problems: wallet..(server) sync, block (or network) confirmations...etc
My miners are running and eating a lots of electricity but no profit.
Where is the new windows wallet?
Best regards,

I would guess you haven't updated to the client version, but would need more information to be able to help. Would you mind joining our discord server? That's the easiest place to get help from us: https://discord.gg/TWpF2ar

Also as we announced in the past newsletter, the windows, linux, and mac local wallets will be released this week.

Problem is with most exchanges inundated with new customers and support requests it really didn't give them time.  I know at least cryptopia lost some on this because they were off on the old network still after the fork and still allowed trades to go through.  DGW will still have the same random intervals for the coin as long as multipools are hashing your coin as well, it will probably help some, but when a large multipool hashes the diff up high you'll notice a few hours between blocks if you don't have enough hash via dedicated miners to compensate.  Giving pools and exchanges at least a week to look over the code changes and get wallets up and functional prior to a fork would have been more beneficial.  Exchanges lost money on this fork, I'm sure cryptopia wasn't the only one that had issues, communicating with them early is the right thing to do, but you have to have the code for them to pull, and that wasn't on github until a day before the fork, just seem irresponsible to me.

Communication and Gnation is clearly a mismatch

Mining Pool Hub has updated their GameCredits wallets to 0.9.6 following the $GAME fork today!

You can safely begin mining using their pool.

https://gamecredits.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Today, I mine new GMC and then send it into the exchange wallet which does not support new wallet yet(poloniex). Is it mean that I will be lost my coin? Can I get I back if the exchange supports new wallet in the future?

Thanks
