Hey reactor, are things ok with your order? Because you're happily posting here, while maintaining your "possible scam" thread. What's up with that?

My order is in Ohio, well technically en route from Ohio to NJ, meaning it should be delivered today.  So my software is all built, I've got a zenBox with a disturbingly long network cable creatively running through three rooms in case I have any out-of-the-gate issues and need to plug that in, and if history is any lesson DHL will show up between 1-3, possibly knocking so hard as to wake my daughter up from her nap upstairs, and I'll be adding ~1.35M to my little whirring collection of hardware.

Right now I'm focusing on helping community members - hence the Zen thread in my signature.  Not posting in any other threads regarding GAW.  I've got pending questions that are being handled in private.  Thanks.

That's great, so if you're happy with the services and nobody was actually scammed, I'd appreciate if you could close or delete the "possible scam" thread. Thank you. Smiley

Nobody said this. Smiley  I stand by my criticisms that launch week didn't go as planned, but that was a hiccup with brand new hardware coming into the market on a brand new platform.  Now I'm focused on helping folks get hardware running + optimizing the hardware, like I did when I originally got my gridseed stuff in the tuning/performance thread over there.

I asked the mods just now to delete the scam accusation thread since the board won't let me do it.

Anything else I can assist you with, EvilPanda?
I understand and appreciate your effort, that's why I didn't mention your independent thread just the one with accusations. A bit of constructive criticism never hurt anyone.
Have a nice day   Cool

anyone in Canada know if you get charged import duties? Mine is now showing:

Awaiting authorization of/or advance duty payment from customer.

This is as far as I got:

http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/postal-postale/duty-droits-eng.html

But the page on GST reads that you owe import tax:

Any item mailed to Canada is potentially subject to duty and taxes. Although the GST was designed as a tax on the consumption of goods and services within Canada, imported goods are also subject to the GST because this ensures fair tax treatment for domestic products. Therefore, unless specifically exempted, you must pay the 5% GST on items you import into Canada by mail.

Wish I could give a more direct answer, the US has no import duties from China/HK on computer hardware so we're safe.  Hopefully the above site helps!

Thanks. I sometimes don't get hit with it but sometimes I do. Not sure why sometimes there's nothing, thought maybe it was who ws delivering it as I never had a DHL deliver before. For me they if they get me they hit me with 15% I guess since tax is 15%  where I live.

AVG: 40 watts and puts out the heat.

1.3mh/s

Using cgminer windows build from GAW site. Uptime about 1 1/2hr

Did you measure power taken from the wall outlet or is this pure the power taken by the device?
I can imagine that it will get rather hot with 40W and a hand sized heat-sink with a small fan.
There seem to be quite a lot of hardware errors, is this normal? or did you increase the clock too much?

Power is measured at the wall outlet. Running at recommended clock speed freq. of 328. Listed spec. of 1MH/s+ at 35watts so it is working as specified by GAW.
I am having trouble on some pools with a lot of rejected shares.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to apologize for how I was acting earlier over the course of the last week or so. It was very childlike on my end and I regret acting like so. I felt the need to express my personal opinions in the wrong manner and location, so for that (and my annoyance) I am sorry!

GAW, nothing is perfect but you all seem to make everything good in the end. And that's what matters.   Smiley

Happy Mining all,
WH   Wink

Good statement. So you openly admit that your previous accusations and telling everyone here that GAW is shady company were all just not true at all. Of course GAW is not perfect but from my experience they are currently the best company in this business on market, and they really worked hard to resolve every issue people have so far. I was wondering about some weird comments here calling GAW shady etc. and I am glad that you found the truth that GAW really is to be trusted.

Anyone that has received their Black Widow, can you post a link to the PSU that you ordered online? Did you really need 4 separate PCI-E power lines?

I should have mine today and will post a video, pics, tutorial, etc.

I should have my Falcon today. If BW requires 4, how many for Falcon (8 or more??) Should be fun to setup.

on that last note, my gridseeds and antminers hate my hsb3.0 ports, no worky at all

My Antminers LOVED my Anker 3.0 9-port hub with its 12V 5amp power supply... but the PI sure didn't like it!

All (10) of my gridseeds are running on the USB 2.0 hub that came as part of the 10-gridseed kit.  It is working beautifully with them.

A powered USB hub is not really necessary for the Gridseeds, they draw hardly any power from the USB port.
I have 20 of them running on 2x 10 port hubs, both not powered.

Been there, but no instructions and contacted support but no reply.

on this site go near bottom of page and download CGminer

https://gawminers.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202184744-cgminer-source-and-config?utm_source=Customer+List&utm_campaign=fe44872274-zenminer-server-status&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_610f65bd5c-fe44872274-130325241

create config file and mine. the examples are at the top of the page

cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333(change to your pool settings) -u 1KQxLLQNxgn2upd4TtGbtiRdm3f5UWC9k8(change to username for your pool) -p x(change to pass for your pool) --nocheck-golden --chips-count 128(change to type below by miner) --ltc-clk 328 -S //./COM4(change to comport of miner)

Chip Count

War Machine: 256

Falcon: 128

Black Widow: 64

Fury: 6

How do I find the com port of miner?
Windows device manager.

does not show com port number only shows Port_#0004.Hub_#0006

Did you have cgminer with gridseeds running off this machine before and is you miner showing up under ports com and lpt  or somewhere else. Do you remember installing zadig drivers.

Check this thread remember its easier to add these drivers then to remove them so please read. Thanks
http://cryptomining-blog.com/1254-how-to-mine-both-btc-and-ltc-on-gridseed-5-chip-gc3355-asic/

Also remember miners usually prefer usb 2.0 black ports and not blue 3.0 ports

on that last note, my gridseeds and antminers hate my hsb3.0 ports, no worky at all

Guys, I just had a genius idea. What if...  we open up a C2C Support Desk. Customers ask questions. Customers answer questions. Rami sits in his chair and smiles.  Grin
Let me expand on this idea...

Best case:
Maybe you could reward customers who answer questions and lighten your support load with BTC rewards based on performance (maybe per resolved issue).

Or...

Worst case:
Offer a C2C Support Desk with user paid bounty system. Users could pay a BTC bounty (they set the price) and pay the reward into escrow, then when they choose a an answer the winner is awarded the bounty.

Love it, but we are about to move off this forum. The time has finally come to have or own Smiley

I would be honored if some of you want to step up to become admins.

PM me if interested
