Heres the black window connector-
Its goes U|SQUARE|SQUARE|U
            SQAURE|U|U|SQAURE

The first U shaped hole on the black widow female wont let me plug a SQUARE into it that is on the corsair male plug

I accidentally plugged my CPU 8 pin plug into it and it went in just fine.  Then I couldn't figure out why my PCI-e ones wouldn't fit.  I think the female plug is actually a CPU 8 pin plug and not a PCI-e

Hi

can anybody please help me I have just received my fury today but no zencontroller yet. I have no idea how to run it with cgminer3.1.1 I have the right driver installed but I do not know how to build a miner. when I had gridseeds I just watched some youtube tutorials and downloaded cgminer and it was ready to use. can anybody please help it will be much appreciated

create a miner.bat file in inside the cgminer folder. Copy the code below into the .bat file and change the pool address, user name and password to match where you want to mine. Open device manager and find the com port of the fury, change the COM port in .bat file to match.

Save and double click the miner.bat file.

example:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333 -u 1KQxLLQNxgn2upd4TtGbtiRdm3f5UWC9k8 -p x --nocheck-golden --chips-count 6 --ltc-clk 328 -S //./COM4

If your on win 7 you will also need to download and install silicone labs CP210 drivers you might see an unknown device under device manager.

Yes, you can download them here. Make sure to uninstall the current drivers and click delete driver from device manager first.

Got my Widow today, how excited I was until I realized it is DOA.... F***!

I am sure GAW will make it right for you. Just a thought what PSU are you trying to run it on?

Brand new Corsair CX750M, I also gave it a try on a RM750.  But PSUs are confirmed to be working... I gave both a try in one of my GPU rig to make sure I didn't get a bad one after the Widow wouldn't start.  As soon as I plug the Widow the PSU refuses to start, if I unplug the Widow the PSU operates as intended (did that with both PSUs), on the positive side the PSU can power the ZenController no problem LOL.
Are you jumping the green and black wire on the 24pin connector? Cause theres no motherboard you need to make the psu power on.

Yes, I'm jumping the PSU, as I said I can run the Pi just fine, I can also run any other hardware device on it (tried HDD and gridseed 5 chip without issues), but if the Widow is plugged into it it refuses to start.. this points to a short with the miner since every other piece of hardware I plug into it works as expected (including a GPU rig).

Im hooking up my black widow and it seems like the 2 8 pin connectors the are on the unit for the 8pin cpu connector not an 8pin pcie connector. I cant connect my cx750 pcie 6+2pin connector into the 8 pin connector on the black widow. Anyone else have this problem?

I just used 2 6 pin.  Worked great.

I got my Black Widow up and running with zenminer today.  I had a brand new in box EVGA 1300w PSU I was going to use but it was DOA.  Luckily I had an 850w Corsair lying around so I used that instead.  Zenminer will take some getting used to, and I've seen hash rates from 10-25MH/s which is bizarre.  I have only had it connected for about 30 minutes or so.

Here's my link to my blog with the review on it.http://ryangrim.es/BlackWidowReview

There's a surprise at the end of my review in case you want to save a bit of $$$ on a GawMiner purchase.

Thanks!
This looks great, would be even better in HD, might even use it as a signature  Cool

Sorry, there is a window right behind that miner and the sky went black with an incoming storm so the light sucked.  It took me long enough to get the kill-a-watt screen to actually show up on my phone.

I did this in a super hurry to get it up and people could see.  It's not the quietest of devices ever, but it's going in our back utility room and then to our datacenter later once I get my other 2 in.

is there a zen miner Q&A  anywhere. I connected my miner and was getting 500+ KHS  when connected to them. When running free willey on my laptop 1300KHS then some.

Not an uncommon issue, but usually easy to fix! Shoot us an email at [email protected] with the details of your issue and we'll get right on it.

and once it is resolved, if it is something a user can fix through configuration, etc., could you post it on the zen discussion thread?  this'll help anyone else who may run into the issue and can ease support.  maybe zen gets a wiki or something for this type of stuff so eric doesn't have to sit on bitcointalk after we compile some good ones. Smiley

But I enjoy you guys! Why do you want to see me go, Reactor? Smiley Just kidding... yes, of course we are simultaneously working on compiling a FAQ / troubleshooting wiki for our users to simplify resolution of simple issues. In the meantime, I am here to offer the same world class support that you'd expect from our friends at GAW!

Hopefully the new forum that Josh mentioned last night will support both GAW equipment and their partner, zenMINER...

Guessing we will hear more about that in the coming days.

Gaw, can you look into my recent orders and provide a tracking number for my Week 1 Fury's? Called and opened a ticket, but no answer yet what is going on.

ORDER #5812 & #6252

Thanks,

When DHL finally quits bouncing my shipment all over north america and I get my gear, can I do either one of the following options:

  • flash the raspberry pi o/s and GAW cgminer software to another card and hook the furys to that and run them off of wifi?

OR

  • hook everything to the linux system currently running my 3 gridseeds via wifi, download/compile/install the GAW cgminer, and run everything using wifi off of that?

And, most important, if I do either of those 2 options can I expect any support from GAW or is the zenminer route the only one GAW is going to be supporting?

Again, thanks to everyone who offers help and suggestions.  I really will feel better once my shi....  uhhh...  stuff gets here and I can finally get this going.

Regards,

Chris

There is no reason you can't burn your favorite Linux distro on an SDHC card and replace the zenminer one.  That is all the "personality" the PI has.  I run two PIs on a custom Gentoo Distribution I built.  No issues.

I would suggest you burn a new SDHC so you have the zenminer one to fall back to.

Quote from: reactor

Everything is brand new and things have been a little bumpy...

That's the understatement of the year, reactor!   Wink   Grin

I'm not going to get into a litany of all the foul-ups there's been with my order cuz that's all water under the bridge.  All I want is for my miners to arrive so I can hook them up and get started mining.  My initial plan was to use a wifi dongle as reactor pointed me to.  Now it seems I can't do that if I use the free, included (thanks again GAW!) rapsberry pi controller and zenminer.  Frankly, that's ok by me because I never knew I was getting a free (thanks yet again GAW!) raspberry pi or knew zenminer existed until 2 days ago.

So, I'll ask again...

When DHL finally quits bouncing my shipment all over north america and I get my gear, can I do either one of the following options:

Actually, could you include at least the coin being mined?  I know performance can change based on these things and I definitely want to know if it is picky like the Gridseed chips (i.e., my blades like LTC but hate DOGE, meanwhile my 5chips are happy on any old multipool).  Compiling a list of the friendliest 'Coins, or even pools, for the chips performance-wise would be a good thing.

FYI - I'm pretty happy with both my Gridseeds and Fury over at www.multicoinpool.org.  Daniel, the sysop, has been coding like crazy to turn his site into the "Burger King" of pools - you can do it your way!  He has normal userid/password mining, profit switching mining, exploratory coins (assign your miners to work just certain coins), BCT address no-account mining, autotrading via Cryptsy (with Poloniex support coming soon).  In any case, I'm obviously a fan and enjoy seeing him improve his site.
