Last season there were riots at the match between St. Pauli and Rostock. Fans of Hansa Rostock had destroyed the two toilets facilities from St. Pauli and set them on fire. In addition, they threw pieces of ceramics from the toilets at St. Pauli fans and the stewards. The DFB has now pronounced the penalty. 150,000 euros. In addition, Rostock have to take 6 extra stewards with them for all away games to protect the toilet facilities of the opponents.

Hamburger SV has signed the next new player. Dennis Hadzikadunic last played for RCD Mallorca and is expected to strengthen the hamburger defence in the coming season.
Daniel Elfadli is also expected to join Hamburger SV. but Magdeburg does not want to sell the player cheaply. the two clubs still have to agree on the transfer fee.

and

Marius Bülter leaves Schalke 04 and moves to Hoffenheim . Bülter gets a contract there until 2026 .... and more money  Wink

That is a loss for Schalke. Bülter was an important striker and scored many goals for Schalke. It will not be easy for Schalke now. They also had to let Marvin Pieringer leave. I amm curious to see if they can replace these two players.

And Hamburger SV really seems to be bringing a lot of new players into the team.  I am curious to see who will make it into the team at the end.

But it seems, it still won't be easy for Schalke to get full points on the first matchday later. Although indeed, I personally may always be confident that Schalke will probably still have a chance to be in the upper zone in the Bundesliga 2 standings. So yes, then this factor can make Schalke have a good chance to be promoted back to the Bundesliga later. Although indeed, some players have left in this transfer window but for competition in the 2. Bundesliga, I think Schalke still has the ability to maximize the players in the squad. So, hopefully Thomas Reis can really maintain a good performance for Schalke throughout the season.

I think it will notbe easy for Schalke this time. Before they managed to go straight back up after relegation. But this time it will be more difficult. As you wrote, important players have left to direct competitors. I think they would not have done that if they were sure that Schalke would be promoted again. The risk that Schalke will stay in Bundesliga 2 for several years just like Hamburger SV is greater this time.

today the match schedule for the complete new season 2023/24 has been published. and right at the beginning there is a clash between last season's third placed hamburger sv and the 1st league relegated schalke 04.

This is really a great first game. Both teams have the goal of promotion and they can show what they can do right at the first matchday. Hamburger SV is now trying the promotion for the sixth time and has to play against the other relegated team on matchday number 3. But then away in Berlin against Hertha Berlin.
It is great that Bundesliga 2 is about to start again.

yes. but we still have to wait almost 23 days before the match starts. that's another 23 hard days. and maybe schalke will be missing rodrigo zalazar.
the media are reporting today that he is leaving schalke 04 and will be earning more than a million at a new club.
we'll be able to read in the media in the next few days whether that's true.
and .... robin meißner is leaving hamburger sv and moving to dynamo dresden in the 3rd bundesliga in the coming season.

and now it's official: jonny kittel is leaving hamburger sv. hsv has not made jonny kittel a new offer .
kittel has played 136 games for hsv in the last 4 years and has scored 36 goals. it is not known to which club kittel is moving.
Yes, a little surprising, Kittel is one of Hamburg's key players and was the top scorer at the club. However, it turns out that he moved officially. It's not a big thing, but it seems that Hamburg will have to work even harder to find a suitable and more talented replacement if they want to reach even higher positions in the Bundesliga. This is a homework that is quite troublesome.

hamburger sv has signed the next player.

It shows that Hamburger SV has a lot of money for new players. Although the transfer window has not yet opene, they are buying new players very early. They will certainly buy a few more players from 01 July onwards and they will certainly cost more money than the previous transfers. I am curious to see how many new players will be on the field at the first matchday.

It looks like Hamburger is just tired of bundesliga 2 and just wants to make that extra step towards bundesliga 1. They were so unlucky in previous year it looks like with so many new signings that they might become the favorites for promotion. But this season will probobly be the hardest to get promoted with so many good teams in the league this season.

And the next player goes to Hamburger SV. The grandson of Hamburger SV icon Uwe Seeler is coming back to the Elbe. Midfielder Levin Öztunali. He has played 2011-2013 for Hamburger SV in the youth team  and now moves from Union Berlin on a free transfer. He previously played for Leverkusen, Werder Bremen and Mainz 05. His contract runs until 2026.

Well, it's worth saying that Hamburg was definitely unlucky this year with promotion to the Bundesliga, because their competitors turned the course of their match in the time added by the referee in the right direction for themselves, although the whole match score was in favor of Hamburg. Therefore, I perfectly understand the chagrin of the Hamburg fans, who joyfully ran onto the field after the Hamburg match, and then it turned out that Hamburg would have to fight for promotion further, which the club then successfully failed. Although, of course, with such a budget, Hamburg had to solve its problems much earlier and not bring everything to such a deplorable finish.
the last time a third-placed team in the 2.bundesliga had 66 points and didn't get promoted was in the 2016 / 2017 season.
braunschweig also had 66 points then and only came third. and braunschweig didn't get promoted then either.
they lost the two relegation matches 1:0 to wolfsburg in each case. since 2017, every club with 66 points has been promoted to the first bundesliga ....
only hamburger sv didn't make it because 2 teams were better. and next saison they are trying again. and again with a very good budget  Wink

Hamburger is a good team and I actually have good hope for them in the next season. They were very close to qualifying for the Bundesliga. But it was bad luck and also inconsistency. If they were a little more consistent, I think they’re good at actually getting promoted without even playing the relegation playoff match. That would have been the best case scenario for them.

I think they need to make some changes in the team. They are able to score quite often but at the same time, they are also very prone to conceding goals. They will have to make some changes in the defense. That is going to make the team a more balanced one.

But many other clubs will also try it. And from Bundesliga 1 comes Schalke and Hertha Berlin. And in Bundesliga 2 there are many candidates who will fight for promotion next season. St. Pauli, Paderborn, Kaiserslautern, Nürnberg, Hannover. I think it will be an exciting season.

True, Hamburg was the most costly team in Bundesliga 2 last year but they were unsuccessful in getting promoted. They are set to once again create one of the most expensive teams in the league thanks to the substantial investment of 30 million euros from investor Kühne. The cost of a team however cannot be the only factor used to determine success. The intricate process of promotion is influenced by a number of variables such as the performance of their rivals and the chemistry of the team. Although having financial support is advantageous it does not ensure automatic promotion. Given their recent failures Hamburg administration and supporters definitely feel a sense of urgency. It is crucial to keep in mind that there is a chance of not getting promoted again. Hamburg must analyse their past performances pinpoint their areas for growth and make the necessary adjustments to strengthen their chances of winning the upcoming season.

Do not understand this. Kittel was an important player in Hamburg last season. But maybe he wanted too much money and the club was not willing to pay it.

yes. jonny kittel has played very well in the last few weeks. but before that he was often injured and sometimes not in top form.
maybe that was also a reason not to offer jonny more money. and maybe immanuel pherai is a good replacement for kittel.
let's see how the first test matches go. then we'll see if walter changes his playing system a bit 4:4:2 ?

other news :
Daouda Beleme extends his contract until 2025  > > very good

Indeed. Many factors determine success and money is not everything. But one of the most important. That was seen very well at Hoffenheim.
