Bookmakers see quite some potential in Hamburg, I would have thought that Hertha is the favorite in this duel by a larger margin. In the past most of the time the relegation games were won by the Bundesliga team. I also think that Hertha has an edge in this fight. Sure Hamburg is looking at a pretty successful season, but there is still a class difference between them.

I also think that Hamburg has a better chance than Hertha. Hamburg is very bad when the other team takes the initiative and attacks the ball early. But Hertha don't play like that.
When it comes to terms of statistics, they are the worst team. On average, they take the ball away from the opponent in his half 8.09 times per game.
Hamburg plays a lot through its outfield players, Hertha is weak in defensive there.
Only after free kicks Hertha is good. But is that enough?

I just saw the odds for the first leg Hertha vs Hamburg: 2.3 / 3.6 / 3.0

Odds for the winner of both legs are:
Hertha 1.7
Hamburg 2.05

why the hell do the relegation games only start at 8:30 pm in the evening.
why not at 7 pm? if you want to see such a game live you are not home until the next morning.
and then on mondays? why not tuesday and saturday a week later. i think the TV money is probably responsible for that.
but it has been like this for the last few years

tickets can still be bought on eventim

The matches are going to start at the time when it is going to be the most profitable for everybody. And they will certainly not think about the people who are going to watch the match on TV. They are going to think about the people who come to the stadium. but I do think that timing is a little neither here nor there. TV money is also probably responsible. otherwise, I don't see why the time is like that.

Hertha is no better than Hamburger SV. Hamburger SV has won more games. Scored more goals. They have much more self-confidence than Hertha.

but that's logical, otherwise hertha wouldn't be in 16th place in the table Wink
in every regelation games, on paper and over the entire season, the club from the 2nd bundesliga is always on the upswing or has more victories etc. to show than the club from the 1st bundesliga, which has to fight to stay in the 1st league due to its defeats and very poor season.
At least with their good performance in the 2nd bundesliga, their confidence will rise for now, in contrast to those who are indeed in the 16th position of the 1st bundesliga but play down because they definitely affect the mentality of the players.
I personally would probably be on the side of Hamburger this time if it were compared to Hertha

Sherlock Holmes?  Cheesy

But I wonder what the reason for that is? Is it because the team from the 1st Bundesliga has more to lose and is therefore fighting with all its power once again? So far, it has only been 3 times when a team has been promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga through relegation matches.

By the way. Congratulations to the directly promotion. Do you still see everything in green and white?  Cheesy

To be honest, I also expect Hertha to win against HSV. Because I believe they are the better teams and with the performance, they have shown in Bundesliga I do expect them to play better compared to hamburgers.
It's been a long time for me since I have seen Schalke playing this good and I really have high hopes for them in the Bundesliga next season. I hope they will be at least able to finish in the top 10 in Bundesliga.

I pretty much watched all the relegation games sinces they were introduced back a few years ago and if i remember correctly the team of the first Bundesliga won in most cases. Which also makes sense to me. I mean you have a way higher budget in the first Bundesliga than in the second and therefore the overall quality of the players should be higher in the team of the first Bundesliga. This is even more true in this case as Hertha has an investor now for a few years which has already pumped more than 370 Million € into the club. Even though Hertha has played an horrendous season given the fact that they have invested so much money, they still should be able to get it together at least for those 2 matches.

At least that is the theory, and according to it, the team from the 2nd Bundesliga should actually be promoted. But in the past it was not like that. Most of the time both clubs stayed in their league. I have never understood why. Maybe because the club from the 1st Bundesliga can lose the most?

Darmstadts stays in the second Bundesliga, that must be very frustrating. They are only 1 point, or 8 goals behind they be in the relegation for the 1 Bundesliga. They did win 3:0 today, but that is not enough. Hamburg wins in Rostock and stays on 3rd place.

I think it will be a little more exciting considering that currently Hamburger are playing very well and even 5 games they have gone through with a win.
Hertha is currently still experiencing problems in their poor defense which makes it a little difficult for them to control the game.
Besides that, the flow of the ball they play is also always interrupted in the middle because there is still a lack of supply to the attack line.

And now that we are on the last matchday for the 2nd Bundesliga,

Here are my picks for the Last Matchday highlighted in green are picks
Currently your picks are correct except Hamburg which is behind 0-1 in Rostock. Darmstadt is ahead 3-0 and has practically won already. Bremen and Schalke are ahead 1-0 and will probably take the 3 points home.
So the big question now is whether Hamburg will be able to come back and turn their game around or if they will finish the season again on the 4th rank and play another year in the 2nd league.

I think Hamburg has bounced back up again, and if we look at the game stats Hamburger pretty much has a lot of advantage in the game, Hansa has 13 fouls than the 7 fouls of Hamburg that I think made a big factor in the game,

Now here are the results for my picks, and pretty much I got it all,

FC Nuremberg VS FC Schalke 04 GOAL 1 - 2 - WIN

Nuremberg is not a pushover team, but the Schalke has found a way to defeat them, pretty much Nuremberg has the advantage towards the game stat, but Simon Terodde has still managed to get back another goal that the Nuremberg have taken, so Congrats to Schalke in coming back to the 1st division of the Bundesliga,

Werder Bremen VS SSV Jahn Regensburg GOAL 2 - 0 - WIN

Jahn Regensburg has many advantages when we look at the game stats, but Werder Bremen is lucky enough or pretty much on target in getting those 2 goals, so congrats to Werder Bremen in coming back to the 1st division Bundesliga,

FC Hansa Rostock VS Hamburger SV GOAL 2 - 3 - WIN

pretty much I thought that Hansa would win this because they have quickly made a goal, but the Hamburger  SV is pretty much determined to win this game, and looking at the game stats, there are a lot of advantages for them than with Hansa, and Hansa got 13 fouls than with Hamburg's 7 fouls,

SV Darmstadt 1898 VS SC Paderborn 07 GOAL 3 - 0 - WIN

I really don't know what happen but Paderborn is doing fine until Darmstadt have made their goals, and Paderborn was really hesitant, and even though Darmstadt has many fouls of 18 while Paderborn got only 9 Darmstadt still manage in winning this game,

Hansa Rostock : Hamburger SV 2:3

congratulations to schalke and bremen
Pretty dramatic finish by Hamburg, but this time with a happier end compared to the last years! Already next week we will see the two legs of the relegation games between Hertha and Hamburg. I couldn't find any odds yet, but Hertha likely goes as the favorite into those games. I would see the chances for Hamburg at 25% to beat Hertha and advance into the Bundesliga.

Yea congrats to Schalke and Bremen, after their relegation from the Bundesliga last year they both managed to come back only 1 year after!

To be honest, I also expect Hertha to win against HSV. Because I believe they are the better teams and with the performance, they have shown in Bundesliga I do expect them to play better compared to hamburgers.

Hansa Rostock : Hamburger SV 2:3

relegation 2022 hertha bsc berlin vs. hamburger sv.
hsv won the game in rostock with 3:2 and is now allowed to play 2 more games.
hansa played a really good game. but hamburg mercilessly exploited its few chances.

congratulations to schalke and bremen

Hansa did hold on to the last minute trying to salvage something from the match but they could not do it.
HSV played really well and won the match. And to be honest it was expected by the majority of people.

Schalke and Werder Bremen are going to be really happy to be able to get promoted directly to the Bundesliga.
It will be really interesting to see how they perform in the bigger stages. I really have high hopes for Schalke.

Thanks

And now that we are on the last matchday for the 2nd Bundesliga,

Here are my picks for the Last Matchday highlighted in green are picks

FC Nuremberg VS FC Schalke 04

Stake odds for this game are 3.05 for Nuremberg 3.80 for Draw and 2.12 for Schalke, Right now Felix Lohkemper has hip problems injury while Christopher Schindler, Johannes Geis, and Nikola Dovedan are at risk of getting suspended, for the Nuremberg, while Dong-gyeong Lee, has injuries, while Malick Thiaw and Danny Latza is suspended, and right now Marcin Kaminski, Darko Churlinov, Florian Flick and Rodrigo Zalazar is at risk of getting suspended, I really think this is a real problem for Nuremberg's Nikola Dovedan for getting 4 yellow cards and he is at risk of getting suspended for the game so Schalke 04 still has an extremely good condition team, so my pick will be Schalke,

Werder Bremen VS SSV Jahn Regensburg

Stake odds for this game are 1.24 for Bremen, and 6.80 for Draw while 9.40 for Jahn Regensburg, Right now Jean Manuel Mbom has an injury, and Kyu-hyun Park is suspended, for Bremen, while Marco Friedl, Christian Groß, Marvin Ducksch, Milos Veljkovic, and Ilia Gruev is at risk of getting suspended, while Sarpreet Singh, Alexander Meyer, and Leon Guwara has injuries while Benedikt Saller is at risk of getting suspended, I really think the injuries and suspension is not really important for these match, it is the last match and I think Bremen has some advantage here even though Marvin Ducksch is at risk of getting suspended, Bremen still has Niclas Füllkrug and right now Werder Bremen needed that win and still has the chance in getting that 1st place from the Schalke, and with this match, Werder Bremen will win,

FC Hansa Rostock VS Hamburger SV

Stake odds for this game are 5.20 for Hansa, 4.80 for a draw while 1.53 for Hamburger SV, I really think Hamburger SV will be needing that win to secure the 3rd place for them, while Hansa will be needing to be up the 11th position, but I guess Hamburger SV will be winning this match I think their determination will be out there and they will secure that position like their life is on the line, but my pick is Hamburger winning this,

SV Darmstadt 1898 VS SC Paderborn 07

Stake odd for this game are 1.46 for Darmstadt and 5.20 for a draw while 5.60 for Paderborn, right now Darmstadt's two key players are at risk of getting suspended, and that is Luca Pfeiffer, and Phillip Tietz, while Paderborn has no injuries at all, but even though Luca and Phillip has problems with getting suspended, I think Darmstadt will win this tomorrow,

I don't know how Werder Bremen is going to perform in the Bundesliga but I have good expectations from Schalke. they have actually impressed me a lot and I hope they can continue the good work in the Bundesliga also.
But obviously, the experience in the first division is going to be a lot different than in the second division. they will have to improve and play a lot better if they want to finish at least in the top 10.
In this case I agree, who would have thought that they would perform this well in the game towards the end of the season because from the start they were only under especially during the dominance of St Pauli and Darmstadt and Bremen. but in the last few games they seem to show who the boss is and now they are safe and can prepare themselves to move up to the first caste again

There is no ranking like at the beginning of the league. In the last weeks, the rankings of the teams that will finish the league first and second have changed. When we look at the first weeks, we see a very different ranking than now, but the important thing was to perform well throughout the season.
Schalke and Werder Bremen seem to have been the teams that succeeded Smiley
