Klose is probably the oldest player to actually play in the World Cup ever. Oldest player to play the World Cup from Germany for sure if not the oldest to play in the World Cup in the whole world.  we can easily say that he has a lot of experience. It is probably expected from him to bring in good results with so much experience. But it is going to be really hard to get a team that has finished in the 12th position in the Bundesliga 2 to get them promoted. it is going to be a long and tiring journey. Let’s see if he has what it takes to actually get his club promoted to the Bundesliga.
LOL, not even close.
Klose retired from the German team in 2014 when he was like 37 or something. Countless other international players with a higher age competed in world cups. There have also been several older German national players by the way. I don't know why you even came up with this statement since it can't be more wrong, haha.

Anyway, very surprised to see close to join Nürnberg. I thought if I ever see him coach somewhere it would be Kaiserslautern.

Klose has played his last World Cup at 36 years of age. We generally do not see that. And especially at that time when Klose did play for his country in the World Cup at 36 years of age, it was not very common if I am not wrong. The oldest player who has played in the World Cup is probably from Egypt.

Yes, there are countless players who have probably played in the World Cup being much older than him. But Klose is the name that comes to the top of my mind when I think about really old players playing in the World Cup. Maybe it just stuck to my mind because it is not a regular thing to see a 36 year old being the main striker of a team like Germany.

The decision for him being the coach of Nurnberg has already been made. I just wish the best for him.

Since retired from national teams and football career, Miroslav Klose have been assistant manager Germany national teams in 2016 to 2018 and becoming head coach for Bayern Munich U18 and season 2020/21 promote become Bayern Munich senior teams assistant. Klose has much experienced as assistant manager and he learn more tactician from several top manager make him confidence accepting offer become FC Nürnberg head coach for next season.

Actually FC Nürnberg performance in this season not really quit well, finished on 12th standings position place and appointing Miroslav Klose has target promote to Bundesliga next season.
Its not easy challenge because have fight with 18 teams participants and FC Nürnberg must finish on 1st or 2nd place get automatically promotion ticket to Bundesliga and seems difficult if finish on 3rd place because have to face with third bottom standings team of Bundesliga participants.

It is definitely true that it will be better for them if they can actually get promoted without having to go through the promotion playoffs. Because it is definitely not going to be easy for them to win against a club that has played in the Bundesliga. I think getting promoted is going to be hard for them in general. They have a long way to go and the improvement will have to be big for them to get promoted.

what nobody expected to happen yesterday did happen!
düsseldorf won't be promoted to the 1st bundesliga after all and didn't have the chance to score at least one goal yesterday after a 3-0 away win in bochum (last week) Shocked
fortuna düsseldorf lost 5-6 on penalties and will stay/play in the 2nd bundesliga next season

I just followed the game online and one it reached the penalty shootout I tuned in.
That game really was special, who would have though Bochum would get their sxxt together after losing their home game 0:3. It must be one of or even the biggest comeback in German relegation history for them to turn this around.

Still, I don't like relegation. A bad team for the whole season in the Bundesliga gets a final straw and a good team in the 2nd league might lose their whole season just because of 2 games.
In the past it was so easy, 3 go up and 3 go down. Bringing relegation just to get more revenue through 2 more games on tv is just sad and kind of unfair.

yesterday fortuna düsseldorf took a very big step towards promotion to the 1st bundesliga!
with a clear and convincing 3-0 away win against vfl bochum, (16th in the 1st bundesliga table), it will be a devil's bargain on monday if fortuna don't manage promotion

Düsseldorf will have one last chance in the Bundesliga. They have qualified for the play-offs.
✂️

since yesterday it is also clear who will be fortuna düsseldorf's opponent in the play-off...
the first match between vfl bochum and düsseldorf will take place this thursday. the second leg will be played on may 27 in düsseldorf

two clubs have now been promoted from the third division: ssv ulm and preußen münster - the special thing about these two clubs is that they were only promoted to the third division this season

Düsseldorf vs Magdeburg
Düsseldorf will have one last chance in the Bundesliga. They have qualified for the play-offs. They will want to complete Bundesliga 2 with their unbeaten streak. Against Holstein Kiel they also played a resilient football. Magdeburg, on the other hand, have picked up crucial points in the final weeks of the league. They have only suffered one defeat in their last six league games. I think this match will start fast and furious, both teams are on a good streak and it could end in a draw.

Judging from the performance of Bayer Leverkusen's match, it can be seen that they have quite a strong defense, especially in the current season showing progress with Bayer Leverkusen's match with VPL Bochum 5-0, which proves that their team is quite compact in game strategy and has mastered it. Leverkusen has scored a total of 13 goals in all competitions.bllesing  to their coach and his team, they were very good, making seven goals out of 13 goals decisive in winning. Can Leverkusen win the Europa League title, we will see the continued development of this team.

Wrong thread! This thread is about the 2nd tier Bundesliga, not the 1st tier.

Back to topic. Almost everything is decided in this year's 2nd Bundesliga, the 2 teams going up re set, the team fighting for relegation to the Bundesliga is also set.
Osnabrück is gone and back down to the 3rd BL, only Rostock (31 points) and Wiesbaden (32 points) are still fighting for the remaining relegation spot at the bottom of the table.
Wiesbaden, even though being up 1 point has a tough task since they are facing top ranked team St.Pauli while Rostock faces upper midfield team Paderborn. Both play at home but Rostock MUST win to keep their chances alive, a draw would not be enough cause Wiesbaden has the much better scored goals advantage.

I hope Rostock can somehow manage do move up to 16th and face Regensburg oder Münster in the relegation to stay in.

congratulations to kiel
it's been official for 10 minutes now. holstein kiel are promoted to the 1st bundesliga for the first time. the match between holstein kiel and fortuna düsseldorf ended in a 1:1 draw.
the german football champion of 1912 from kiel can celebrate tonight with the fans at home . honestly ! the team from kiel deserved the victory 100% !

should fc köln also be relegated from the 1st bundesliga (which looks very likely), the 2nd bundesliga will be more attractive next season than ever before... with numerous supposedly 'big' clubs that can also boast various titles in their history. i like that Wink

Hmmm: 1.FC Köln : Union Berlin 3:2  > > Köln still has the chance to stay in the first bundesliga

It's a bout time to see another first timer in the Bundesliga, great season from Kiel and well deserved!!!
Hopefully they can hold their own next season and get some surprise wins against big teams that underestimate them.
It will be tough to stay in but with a bit of luck and great games they can manage this hopefully.

Today there is also a deciding game for relegation since Braunschweig (15th) is facing Wehen Wiesbaden (16th). If Braunschweig can win this it's done and they are salved, together with Kaiserslautern.
If they draw there are still some ways for Kaiserslautern to fall to the 16th position and if Wiesbaden wins it's all wide open going into the last game day.
So I hope Braunschweig wins and Kaiserslautern can celebrate and focus on the cup final which is coming soon.
