Borussia Dortmund managed to secure a win this week when they hosted St Pauli. However, they almost couldn't get 3 points after ST Pauli was able to equalize, but they managed to score a goal which was the winning goal for them.
In terms of play, Borussia Dortmund dominated the game, which is natural because they are also one of the strong teams in the Bundesliga, while their opponents are only promoted teams. However, I also appreciate St Pauli's game, even though they lost, they can actually provide a kind of threat with their strength that is not comparable to their opponents.
Dortmund dominated the game, with 75% ball possession and 7 shots on target, two of them were converted into goals. Borussia Dortmund is one of the strongest teams in the Bundesliga, so, surprisingly, they struggled to win the majority of their league games this season, I expected them to score at least 5 goals against this team considering they were just promoted to the league this season. Dortmund nearly lost all of their points after Smith equalized in the 78th minute, but Guirassy scored the winning goal in the 83 minutes to secure all three points at home. I hope Dortmund injured players return before the next Champions League game against Real Madrid.
The Leverkusen vs Frankfurt match I thought would be a draw. Because the Frankfurt team is in a very strong position this season. Even in the previous match, the Frankfurt team shared points with the mighty Bayern Munich. Frankfurt was able to draw the match 3-3. This is why I thought the Frankfurt team would not lose against Leverkusen.
However, Leverkusen showed great dominance in their home match today. However, Boniface failed to score from the penalty in the first 9 minutes of the match. Leverkusen's players might have been more confident if they had scored this goal. However, Frankfurt scored the first goal of the match in the 16th minute. However, at the end of the first half, the match was tied at 1-1. And in the second half, Boniface's goal saw Levekusen eventually win 2-1. Leverkusen is now fourth in the points table. Leverkusen is 3 points behind Leipzig.
Leverkusen showed an amazing performance, and I agree that I wasn't expecting Leverkusen to win the game at home because Bayern Munich had trouble playing against Frankfurt. Leverkusen had nine shots on goal compared to Stuttgart two, but they shocked us by winning the match. However, can we claim that Leverkusen is outperforming Bayern Munich this season? This is the same team that Bayern Munich was unable to beat last week. They have yet to play against Leipzig, who defeated Leverkusen this season.
