Even though I am a Dortmund supporter for many many years now, actually since the 90s, I don't see them as a "big team" at the moment. They just don't have the "it factor" at the moment and they are also missing that killer instinct to put teams away. Sometimes you see a good 1st half and then they just don't show up for the 2nd half, best (or worst) example is of course the game in Madrid. Dortmund can be happy if they escape with a point from their clash with Bayern. Of course I hope that I am wrong but I just don't see them winning and even drawing will be really tough. Only thing that speaks for them is the momentum they have at the moment, hopefully this helps and will give them a small chance. After plenty of weak performances they finally got a short stretch of good games, maybe they can ride the wave to a small surprise tomorrow!!

I am not giving too much hope on this team again because they always make you feel less of them after they play poorly when expecting them to do better. They have been playing a series of game this season and most of them are not appealing to what we expect of them to showcase. They don’t have that finishing instinct and they are more business inclined than winning those records as a team. Nuri Sahin may try his best but if he’s not given the best players he needs and the team allows them to stay for a very long time to see good results, they will just waste their time without getting to achieve anything season after season. They should learn to keep their best players and focus more on winning trophies, that would be better for them for the progress of the team.

Dortmund's best moment is the 2022-2023 season, we can see how Dortmund only lost on goal difference to Munich at the end of the season. And this season doesn't seem to be much different from last season. They have conceded very often this season, and it should be a concern that they need good defenders.

If Dortmund has a serious strategy and plans to compete with Munich in the Bundesliga trophy competition. They must prepare the plan by building a team that they maintain for a long time. Selling their best players is an advantage for the club, and they must also accept the losses. They must choose a profitable business strategy or better team management.

The picture is misleading  Wink It will be Dortmund - Bayern and not the other way around. At the moment, the bookmakers' odds for this game are as follows:

4.80 - 4.10 - 1.68

Honestly, I don't know how fair they are (for me this pair is mostly random) but I see that the bet on Bayern doesn't look profitable. If I were to bet cash, it would be on Dortmund.
This is big match this weekend and Dortmund have the advantage of playing at home but Bayern Munich have the advantage on paper regarding the quality of performance which is much better than Dortmund, clearly Bayern Munich are the favorites and bookmakers are still giving odds that are still quite profitable for Bayern Munich.
But it is little doubtful if take Bayern Munich as favorite for betting because the odds are still at @1.68 and now have changed to @1.69, if the team is guaranteed to win then it will definitely show @1.20 or less but Bayern Munich have quite big odds.

Grin Even 1.1 is not a guaranteed outcome, believe me I lost a lot of money on such "guarantees". Yes, on paper Bayern's victory is certain, but this is a German classico + random Dortmund + Bayern are doing too well.
If we remove everything we know and just evaluate it on paper, then 1.68 is easy money. But for me personally it is obvious that if there is value in this game, it is in the opposite outcome.

This time the competition for the bundesliga looks already settled, Kompany has done a good job bringing his team this far and able to withstand every of their opponents, zero loses and and several wins for Bayern Munich. Dortmund getting back to the top four is difficult to tell for, except Leverkusen fails to hold their position, Frankfurt and Leipzig are just being dominant with the best they could while Dortmund and Leverkusen are roughly struggling to come on top.

I can't tell if Bayern will be having their first loss in the next game which is against Dortmund, when two big team like this meetup there is always this strong opposition that automatically initiates the players to perform better. Since Bayern are on the run to keep points, straight wins and no loss yet, i believe they will have their way playing against one big rival.

There is no reason to assume this before the game Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich has not been played. The biggest advantage that Bayern Munich has is that all other teams are not performing well. That's when you always look good no matter how you play. But while I get the point and I agree that Bayern Munich is probably going to be a 90% winner of the Bundesliga this season, I still think it makes sense to wait for the Saturday game as both teams have been doing their homework in the last weeks and Borussia Dortmund is unbeaten at home. If they can show the best of their best, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be able to harm Bayern Munich and perhaps win the game.

If the other teams are able to capitalize on any weakness Bayern Munich show, the table would already be looking more exciting again.

The reason why people are assuming that the match between Bayern Munich and Dortmund will end in favour of Bayern Munich is because Dortmund has been inconsistent this season they are a weak team when compared to Bayern Munich this season so there is a good reason to pick Bayern Munich as the favorite in the match against Dortmund.

Dortmund beating Bayern Munich will definitely give the league a new chapter because the league will be open for more competition, but Dortmund can not be trusted in this match because they are not a match for Bayern Munich team who has been doing very well in the league this season.

The points gap between Dortmund and Bayern Munich is now ten units after both of them have played eleven matches this season in the Bundesliga. This is clearly seen in the current Bundesliga standings so that the level of difficulty in surpassing Bayern Munich is more real this season because several other teams will also not be able to break Bayern Munich's dominance this season so teams like Dortmund, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Leverkusen will only compete for second place because they certainly will not be able to beat Bayern Munich this season unless Bayern Munich experiences bad conditions during this season.
Dortmund is not Bayern Munich's competitor this season because the difference in points between the two is very large, even Frankfurt who is in second place is already 6 points behind Bayern. Dortmund really need a win to get back into the top four, this time they are facing a team that is tough to beat, especially since their front line is on fire. Kompany will continue to try to maintain his team's performance to widen the gap with competitors and make their position more secure at the top of the standings.

At this point, I don't think that Dortmund can catch up with Bayern Munich because the difference is a little bit wide. Again, Bayern Munich are in great form this season, and I can't say at this moment that they may drop form. In fact, I don't think that Dortmund are concentrating much on the Bundesliga competition, as they seem more focused on the Champions League. Even last season, that was what they did, and I think they are trying to do the same this season.

The only team that may have an opportunity to catch up with Bayern Munich is Leipzig. However, even Leipzig is not consistent enough, so I don't see them as a real threat. As far as this season is concerned, Bayern Munich have a big chance of winning the Bundesliga trophy.

If we look at Dortmund's performance under Nuri Sahin, it's hard to say that they will be a strong contender this season. We know that Dortmund is 10 points behind Munich, they have suffered 4 defeats, 1 draw from 11 matches in the Bundesliga. Dortmund cannot be said to be stable in their 11 matches, especially since they have several players who are still absent due to injury, even Dortmund's performance and productivity are inferior to Frankfurt who are in 2nd place in the standings, although the difference in points from Frankfurt is not that significant. It is possible that at any time, Dortmund will overtake Frankfurt's position as runner-up, but on condition that Dortmund must appear with much better performance and win their matches, including this week against Munich. Unfortunately, it is not easy and will be quite a tough job for Nuri Sahin to defeat Bayern Munich even though they are acting as the home team. In addition, Munich can be said to be in the right form in the Bundesliga. They have not experienced defeat in their 11 matches, as well as being a much more productive team in this competition. Nevertheless, the match between the two teams will be very interesting to wait for, what is certain is that Dortmund will try to perform optimally and try to steal full points at their own headquarters. let's just wait for the results of this match, after all in football anything can happen and no exception if Dortmund is able to steal full points so that they maintain or increase their position on the Bundesliga standings.

If we talk about Dortmund chances be championship and stopping Munich this season, of course it is a difficult and even impossible thing for them to do, so far they have fallen far behind due to their inconsistent performance and even their distance will be even further if Munich wins the der Klassiker match later, Dortmund only hope at the moment is of course to end the season in the UCL zone, But with fierce competition happening and also good performances from teams such as Gladbach, Freiburg, Leverkusen, Leipzig and also Frankfurt of course Nuri Sain also have a tough job for achieve it, last season Dortmund was lucky enough to qualify for the UCL after the Bundesliga got an additional quota from UEFA, but this season I think that luck will no longer be repeated if they do not try to get 1 ticket to the UCL next season.

Dortmund can't compete with Bayern Munich this season. I agree with that. They have a new young manager Nuri Şahin and still have a long way to go.  Sad

They were never great in defense though. But the current situation is beyond that. Conceding 18 goals in 11 games already? That's crazy and alarming for the long run.

I can't say they have bad defenders by the way. Especially Schlotterbeck is very promising. I believe it is all because of not bonding enough with the manager yet. When Nuri Şahin becomes successful with that his system would start working much better.

This is what needs to be changed and if Dortmund wants to compete with Bayern Munich then selling talented young players must be stopped and they do not fully think about business in football. Dortmund is indeed one of the strong teams in the Bundesliga, but we regret the attitude of management who always run business and do not think about the success of the club. Dortmund has always succeeded in changing young players to be more talented and we do not doubt that ability. This season will be much more difficult for Dortmund to compete with Bayern Munich and I don't have high hopes for them because what we see is that their focus is only to qualify for the Champions League and be able to show the talent of their young players to other teams.
I Agree with you, If dortmund want to compete in the championship, their should no longer be in business as a team selling players, but actually what we see is not as easy as what they are experiencing now, friends, we know that there are several teams that survive only by selling young players and their stars so far, because of their poor finances and Dortmund is one of those teams,  So far they have been trying to stabilize their finances by finding, fostering, shaping young players and selling them as stars and just imagine if they stop doing it, while the prize of becoming a champion will not be able to sustain the club finances?

There are still a lot of matches left this season and everything is still possible to happen so I think it is too early to write off Leverkusen as a contender for the Bundesliga title this season.
Leverkusen still has good strength this season even though they are now a point behind Bayern Munich but there is still hope for Leverkusen to catch up considering the journey this season is still very long.

1 point behind? Have you not seen the latest standings table? Leverkusen is 9 points behind Bayern Munich so it is increasingly difficult for Leverkusen to catch up with the considerable gap if Bayern Munich continues to perform consistently and if Bayern Munich loses in the next match the points difference between them is also still quite far so it can be said that Leverkusen's chances of winning the title are quite small but at least they still have a chance to improve their performance in the remaining matches and my prediction is that Leverkusen will finish in the top 3 this season.

Maybe Op made a slight mistake in looking at the latest points.
Leverkusen this season is not playing like last season, they have experienced some declines so that they have gotten less than optimal results in several matches they have played in the Bundesliga. But I myself am not surprised by all this, because maintaining what they have shown last season will indeed be more difficult to do, than starting a very good performance like they did last season.
But the opportunity is still there, with the note that they must be able to improve their performance this season. That is the only way for their opportunities to be even wider.

In fact, Dortmund has the capacity to be Bayern toughest competitor in the title hunt, but because the management prioritizes money by selling quality young players and then bringing in new, cheaper players, Dortmund always has difficulty winning the title at the end of the season. This time Dortmund will also have difficulties again when attending Bayern Munich due to inconsistent performance this season, besides that, Bayern Munich has actually found its identity again with a series of positive results achieved. On paper, Bayern Munich are the clear favourites this time around, but Dortmund also have a chance to spring a surprise.

Come on man, you should know better. "Selling young players must be stopped" can't be more wrong. They have no choice. These players want to go to bigger teams, BVB offers them better contracts with more money every single time but the players and their managers (advisers) get super greedy, want more and more money and want to go to a bigger team. Dortmund can do NOTHING about that because often enough these players, when coming to Dortmund, want an exit clause in their contract with a fixed sum. Once a team is willing to pay this, and the player wants to go, Dortmund can only watch and say goodbye. That's the business. BVB might be a big club in Germany but they are still a small club compared to the real big clubs with the big paychecks. Can only hate this but that's how the business works.

Dortmund is not really bad this season; they are in good shape in the Bundesliga; they are at the top 5 in the table right now, although I can’t really say they will take over the top 4 over Leverkusen since Bayer Leverkusen are also doing well, and Leverkusen are also fighting for the top if the standings are correct.

However, you are right, Dortmund are selling their star players, and that is why they keep performing less every season, and sure, if they stop the business of selling their key players, they will go higher and even do what we don’t expect from them, as we can see they are doing well even now.
Yes, Dortmund have been quite fluid in their play this season in Bundesliga thus coming close to the top teams most of the time. This proves that the team still has abundant power in competitiveness despite they lose star players frequently in each season. Still, Dortmund can perform competitively and needs applause for the way they manage to maximise the existing players and make young talents they have. They now remain as how they adapt to competitiveness of the other teams like Bayer Leverkusen through the regular matches, cups, and leagues.

Therefore if in future, Dortmund is able to hold more of their star players then this means that a greater result is an open topic for this team. Perseverance from the leadership to young players and sustainability of long-term initiatives may bring them to the next level, within the domestic league, as well as European tournament. What they have done now is to show that with a little more solidity, Dortmund can become a far more dominant team and offer fans a nice surprise.

Dortmund is playing good football this season and trying to get the maximum contribution from each player. The point we all criticize is that Dortmund sells their key players at the end of every season. If they hadn't implemented this kind of transfer policy, they could have been a club that dominated the league for many years.

The fact that they are in the league race most of the time despite selling their important players shows how high quality the club is. I think they will be in a better position this season than they are now.
