Hoffenheim should not be an opponent that can make it difficult for Leverkusen in the next match because if you look at its quality, Hoffenheim is different from Leipzig, Hoffenheim is an average club that is trying to perform well but Leverkusen is not an easy opponent for it so even though playing at home Hoffenheim has a very small chance of winning compared to Leverkusen.

Source: Google

I will still favor Leverkusen to win this match even though they just lost against Leipzig but I'm sure Xabi Alonso has fixed his previous mistakes so as not to repeat careless mistakes again, Leverkusen has odds @1.58 to win in my opinion this is a pretty good odds.

If we believe in the accuracy of this assessment, then the odds for Leverkusen to win do not look attractive, after all, the probability of winning is not much higher than 50% and the odds are very far from 2.0. But on the other hand, considering the difference in class, +58% for a simple victory for Bayer looks reliable, since no one expects Bayer to lose points two games in a row, especially against a clear underdog.

There are no player cuts at Bayer Leverkusen at the moment, that means they can still show the same performance but because the schedule plus the Champions League certainly does not guarantee that they can break the unbeaten record again. In terms of quality I remain convinced that Xabi Alonso with his ability to manage players is always able to make a difference from the Bundesliga team. If you look at their rivals Bayern Munich then everyone will be looking at the new coach whether he is able to answer the doubts of many people or not. Considering Bayern Munich reputation this season is at stake in Kompany hands especially his target to win the Bundesliga trophy.
Leverkusen would have had a chance if they had only been focused on the domestic league. However, since they have shifted their focus to the Champions League, they are unable to devote the same amount of energy to their home league, which would have resulted in significant differences. In my opinion, Leverkusen lacks the energy necessary to maintain a strong lead in either league, and the Champions League is worse because of the level of pressure they will face to effectively manage both. Alonso might be in a tight condition this time around we know Alonso might be the one with the brains but this is about capacity and a lot of clubs are looking more capable this season, it will look more challenging.
It is indeed not easy for Alonso to be in a situation like this where the burden is quite heavy in the domestic league and the Champions League, but I think last season they also went through it quite well because the two leagues they focused on such as the Europa League even though they failed in the final, Leverkusen was quite optimal and could balance both at the same time, The current burden is only focused on the quality of strategy and the renewal carried out by many teams in the Bundesliga, because it is very unlikely that Alonso will use the same strategy to win again this season, other teams must have studied them, so in the Champions League Leverkusen must really be able to surprise again with something new to compete because in the Champions League are top class teams and is a prestigious league.

Bayern Munich are the one people are even expecting more from because of their new coach and they are positive that with their new coach. Will be at their rescue and they will be able to get back at their feet.
Kompany looks like still does not look like who is going to win the Bundesliga for now their are more reason to this his new and this is first attempt of leading bayern and this might be a season for him to fix and Improve the club that should be like the starting point for him, to focus on winning the trophy might just look like a set back for him. Everything is boiling down to the point that if they don't choose now just because they want to impress people and when they start that way they won't be able to keep up that show for a while but the outcome won't end well.
I don't think so, Bayer Munich is not so expected with their new coach Kompany, I see that more people doubt Kompany can bring Bayer Munich to victory, his dark history with Burnley makes him not so expected, but I think for these first 2 matches Kompany is not so bad and I hope Kompany can silence those who doubt him until today, the league journey is still very long he just needs to do his best.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Football is one game that produces shocking results especially when they're least expected so even when I know it's very unlikely to happen, I think Real Madrid is still very much beatable.
Their first UEFA Champions League game of this season will be against German club Stuttgart and I would've given Stuttgart a chance in my prediction of that game if they'll be the host but since it'll be played at Santiago Bernabeu, I think it'll be an easy win for Real Madrid.
Clubs and teams like Real Madrid are always the favorite in every game they playing in the league or in the international Cups.
Nobody was thinking that Frankfurt will win back 2 years ago in Barcelona in the European League and they did it.
But this is to much off topic here as we here in the German League thread , maybe we can discuss this in the other thread where it belongs.
Anything can happen and the German club Vfb could cause an upset but who knows if it will happen, even though Real Madrid is the favorite in every match they are bound to lose in a bad run of form.
What is clear is that Real Madrid will be evenly matched with Bayern Munich or Leverkusen.
What is certain is that their Bundesliga representatives will at least make it to the semi-finals of the UCL.

I know this is a German Bundesliga thread but I was responding to the content of the post about Stuttgart's upcoming game against Real Madrid. That being said, I understand the point you're trying to make and have taken it into consideration as I'll try my possible best to discuss more if German Bundesliga related issues here instead of engaging on posts that'll make me go off topic.
To a more German Bundesliga related issue, do you think Bayer Leverkusen will be able to retain the league title this season or will the bookmakers' favorite Bayern Munich win the German league at the end of the season

Bayer Leverkusen still has the oppurtunitty win the Bundesliga because the league is still young. They still have the quality players since they retained most players who made them champions last season. What is certain now is that they will not maintain their unbeaten run this season since they have already lost a game. The Xabi Alonso side was defeated by RB Leipzig making them to lose three points. The league is competitive with good sides like Bayern Munich with some of the best players in Europe. The surprising leader of the table now is Heidenheim, while Leverkusen is in the eighth position.
Yeah there is still much hope for Leverkusen as the league is merely beginning so it is too early to tell that they won’t be a contender this season. They are just 3 points behind league leaders after losing their last game to Leipzig at home, it’s a shame if you ask me but but i believe they would definitely improve their game and correct any mistakes they have made.
They really have the advantage by retaining most of their players despite various teams showing interest in their players and also they are lucky to have not lost the coach as well Xabi Alonso that received lots of offers from bigger clubs but still chose to stay.
Let’s wait and see how they will react to the loss after the international break, they don’t look sharp like last season but they still got the players and the potential to still challenge for the title.

I don’t understand why people are so hopeless. Only two matches have been played. And already keep saying that Leverkusen might not have a chance to win the Bundesliga? That is really unbelievable.

By the way, I will definitely say that Leverkusen might actually not be able to play as well as they have done in the last season. Because now the other coaches know what to expect from that team. So they are obviously going to be ready for Leverkusen. But just because they have not been able to win both the starting two matches of the season, does not mean they will not be able to win the Bundesliga title. The first two matches of the season does not prove anything.

Alonso is so much determined, so let's see what will happen.

Good Luck

It is clear that Bayer Leverkusen will no longer maintain their unbeaten record, last week they were defeated at BayArena by RB Leipzig. Now the problem is how Alonso evaluates some of the shortcomings in his squad, he has work to do. In addition, Alonso needs to give more trust so that their striker, Victor Boniface, will return to performing well and score goals in the upcoming match. It is very important, because this player has the potential to become a more established and productive player in scoring goals. The rest, the back line is his concern to be fixed. Well, however, Bayer Leverkusen is a team that is not easy to beat, they are able to get back on track and provide tough competition for their rivals. As for the Champions League, the competition has not started yet. Before visiting Feyenoord's home in the Champions League, Leverkusen will compete first in the Bundesliga. In the Bayern Munich camp, Kompany will do his job to bring Bayern Munich back to the top of the standings. Whether he is capable, only time will tell.

Bayer Leverkusen's surprising performance and achievements of last season I don't think can be repeated this season but I believe they can still have an impressive season. Playing in the UEFA Champions League is very tasking and now that teams will now play 8 games in the first round of the competition makes it even harder. Bayer Leverkusen for the first time since the start of last season lost a league game last weekend but I believe they can still bounce back to their best again.

Of course, for sure for this season Leverkusen must sweat more because of the tight schedule unlike last season where they only focused on the Bundesliga, and of course this situation will affect the sharpness of their performance which means as you believe that it is unlikely for them to return to an unbeaten record.
But I think it doesn't really matter, or what I mean is Xabi Alonso doesn't have to be excessive to pursue an unbeaten record like last season because the situation this season I think is not very possible, and the most important thing is to defend the title in the sense of finishing at the top again.

For Bayern Munich, I don't know whether they will be much better or not after Kompany's arrival, because anyway I think it's too early to conclude whether they will be much better or otherwise when they are still in the adaptation phase with the tactics given by the new coach.

What is certain is that their unbeaten record in the Bundesliga has been broken and cannot be achieved again. Currently, their focus is to compete to become Bundesliga champions with other top clubs, which is certainly not easy this time. But, they will be always struggling.

And for UCL, well, in their first match, Leverkusen will play against Feyenoord,

Speaking about their unbeaten run, I didn't need a supernatural power to know they weren't going to make it with such a record this season, I just knew it normally that they are going to alter that record this season of which the season didn't go half way when they already got it altered. Looking at the champions league they have a good chance at a very good and probably healthy start and this is because their first opponent isn't a very tough one, they have an opponent that are relatively competitive so if they have their tactics right, Leverkusen would be able to kick off their champions League journey with a winning game. As for feyenoord, the are a big team in their domestic league but have very little champions league experience let's hope they have what it takes against Leverkusen.

I agree with you, they lost the game in good time because now they have god enough time to find weaknesses and know what why they lost this match. This will definitely give them a good chance to have a better performance in the next games.
I think Bayer Leverkusen will have much harder games during this season because of the Champions League and this loss will definitely help them.

Well they have already lost a game so what do you think? They can definitely not repeat same feat again, I mean do you know how hard and difficult it was for them to actually go the whole season with just a single loss, I mean I really don't think any team would be replicating that anytime soon I mean whatever they did last season that made them so resilient to defeat I think clubs would also look to that and rectify it so that they can win them.

I don't expect an extraordinary performance like last year at Bayer Leverkusen this year. They already showed this in the match they lost. After scoring two goals in the match, they couldn't maintain this advantage and conceded three goals. That's why they left the field with a defeat. Sure, the other team is strong, but they will be playing against stronger teams in the Champions League. If their goal is the highest, they should compete better this year than last year.

They have to be a little bit loose in this season and every team will definitely win and lose games no matter the club and the competition, we have to know that. Leverkusen are one of the strongest team in Europe and whenever you mention the likes of Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City e.t.c, you have to mention the Bayer Leverkusen team because they have done what no team can do in a long while. Competing in the champions league will give them a new challenge and if Alonso don't manage this team properly like he did last season, I don't see them doing well because injuries can spoil the plans of the team.

I agree Bayer Leverkusen had amazing season last year but it might be hard for them to do it again. Playing in Champions League is tough and now they have to play even more games. They lost league game recently but that does not mean their season is over. I believe they can still have great season and play well again. They have good players and experience so they can handle the challenges of the Champions League and still do well in their league. It will be interesting to see how they do and how they will play in future.
I would not judge the team by its past merits, there are many examples when the team starts playing differently in the new season, of course Alonso tried to do everything possible to keep the team in the same squad, and even tried to strengthen it in the off-season, but if we remember the Europa League final, we can see that even in its best times Bayer was not ideal, and the Champions League is a tournament of a different level, I suspect that Bayer's results there may be worse, which by the way may also affect the team.

The opportunity is not just open to Bayer Leverkusen only but to every other teams in the league which is what is raising the dust about Leverkusen going through an early defeat for a team that had an unbeaten  streak all throughout the last season. Fair enough to say that they may not be able to repeat an unbeaten streak as it were but basically the early defeat just at the start of the season can affect their winning mentality.

However, I do agree with you that the season is still fresh and there's a much window of opportunity for the Xabi Alonso side to restrategize, not putting their guard down in order that they may prevail because it's really a challenging season as other teams ain't smiling which we will be seeing many surprising results this season in the Bundesliga.

there will definitely be many surprises, the Bundesliga has only been running for 2 more and that doesn't determine everything. but the strong competition will definitely be the teams that we can actually predict. like Union Berlin which as usual performed quite well at the beginning of the season and experienced a decline when the middle of the season started. several seasons their performance was quite good competing at least in the top 5 standings. but last season was very bad for Union Berlin.

maybe we will see a clearer mapping for our favorite teams when the season enters the middle of the season. I don't think this season will be easy enough for Leverkusen or Munich.

The victory of Leverkusen as Bundlesliga champions last season was magical which has boosted their confidence in the league but about this new season it's very obvious with how they are starting off that they can't repeat the spell of retaining the title no matter how they try because other opponents like Bayern Munich, Brussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig look very set and prepared for them, especially Bayern Munich because to them it's somehow a challenge that Leverkusen had to strip them of their birth right and letting Leverkusen retaining it this season is very unlikely.

Leverkusen have not been in good form this season. And we saw it in their performances in the first two matches. Leverkusen won despite not performing well against Gladbach. On the other hand, the team lost against Leipzig. As the team aims to win the Bundesliga title, Leverkusen cannot secure the title if they cannot continue their winning streak. Either way the team will try to get 3 points against Hoffenheim.

Leverkusen have won four of their last five matches against Hoffenheim. This group is not very strong. So if Leverkusen performs a little carefully, and if the defense is a little strong, then Leverkusen will be able to get 3 points from this match. However, Leverkusen's defenders must play well.
I think it's too early to say that Leverkusen are in bad form at the start of the season just because they lost against Leipzig last weekend, it can't be used as a reference because overall Leverkusen have played well, it's just that they were a little unlucky to have to admit their first defeat of the season so quickly.

Xabi Alonso is a coach who has been quite successful in building or improving the performance of the Leverkusen team since his arrival, so that will also apply this season.
There's no need to worry about anything and don't be too quick to judge the strength of the Leverkusen team, it's still too early.

From seeing Xabi current seriousness, it seems that he does not prioritize the unbeaten title or even does not really hope to get another title in the bundesliga. Because Xabi currently seems to prioritize the title in the UCL and will likely only try to survive to enter the top 3 positions in the standings. Regarding Leverkusen who will face Feyenoord, it seems that there is no problem for Xabi to try to survive and try to provide a strategy to stay consistent but when he has the opportunity he must score. Leverkusen current attack line has fast tactics and attacks that make fans not worry.

Although the next match will not be that difficult, Leverkusen must try to play carefully because unexpected things can happen where they will share points with their opponents. Looking at the quality of the team, it is true that Leverkusen is indeed favored to get full points, but they must be aware if Hoffenheim plays defensively and tries to counterattack when Leverkusen's defense is off guard. The defeat when facing Leipzig must be an evaluation where they must be able to create opportunities in the match and they must also play more consistently in maintaining the defense line so as not to concede goals.
I also think that Leverkusen will try earlier to score a goal against the home team when Leverkusen is a guest at Hoffenheim's home because in terms of condition, both teams have won once and lost once in the two matches they have played this season. So the Leverkusen team must be able to play better and also more consistently in every line for full points, because the home team itself will also consider that their next opponent is a difficult opponent even though they are not afraid to face it.
