Someone should just buy (or rent) a subforum of Altcoin from site owners, and the forum is simply "tied" to it (it can even be placed in a completely different domain). Thus, the administrators of the current site should not have managed it, and the owners of new forums could manage and even sub-organize it at their own discretion.

I think if people want to advertise their latest altcoins, pay at least one banner and support the site.

1. Under which section should I post an airdrop announcement?

2. I want users to comment their Waves address to that thread, to verify they own the account.
Will that be ok?

Thanks!

Hm, blocking giveaways, to say truly I have never won any at giveaway, so I think it's better to try you in bounty, or even airdrop will be more effective, but people also saying the want participate in it, so If you made, for example sub forum it will be better)

Good News but, Most of users now a days are in alternate coin section only for giveaways, So they will be not coming for this site & they all will go to any new giveaway service forum.

honestly, i came to this forum because someone posted on another forum that someone here was giving away free coffeecoin.. or something or other...
however i need 20 posts before i can be in the running to receive any... this was a few days ago now, not sure if the deal is even still on.
but i have got caught up reading around... and only made a few posts.

Serious news. I'm watching the forum administration is tightening the screws! Well, it's for the best, you need to fight with the flood.

I agree with the decision, please, the point of the Alt Coin section of Bitcointalk was so that you could have basic conversation about whatever coins you wanted here. Things like in depth coin support and discussion, and giveaways are far better off on their own respective coin's forum. Kiss
Others are misunderstanding the meaning of discussion. That's why theymos decided to say that this section to have no more giveaway threads because there's a right thread for those things.

Also he wants to emphasize that bumping such threads for rewards isn't allowed so be careful if someone tries to offer you that type of offer.

Don't break the rules of the forum and live happily through discussing about alts here.

perhaps by purchasing the Altcoin subforum from the site owner and requesting the forum to just 'link' to it.
Purchasing a board here in forum? no it can't be done.

By way of the site admin currently does not need to manage it and the new forum can manage and even control as desired.
He's working very hard for the sake of each members here.

Am happy that something has been done to prevent this from happening. Too many topics where been made just to promote and give coins out for people to use and try creating   lot of exposure and good vibes about coins when most where just worthless. If people want to do a give away then at least do that give-away on their own site or a place where it can be done. Maybe make a section up just for coin giveaway to keep stuff in one section and no everywhere.

It depends on the purpose of this forum.

If this forum is only about Bitcoin, not allowing any other coins, then make it clear and ban everything except bitcoin

If not, then make of clear policy stating details

There must be a better way than just banning.

Thanks  Smiley
lets not forget the main reason why giveaway threads are done:  eventually make money off the coin they're giving away (i.e. initialmined a shitton and hoping it gets pumped)

Can anyone ask if anyone wants to have a subforum ?
When you want to ask things regarding about the forum itself, you should post it on Meta. And are you telling that Altcoin cryptocurrencies needs another subforum? It already has categories where you can discuss and ask different things about altcoins.

Here's the link for Meta.

I believe airdrop is conducted via twitter and other mediums.     One exchange I was on was distributing coins to holders of bitcoin, not a fork it was a totally seperate blockchain.   Just the  foundation for that coin wanted to equally distribute the coins, thats an airdrop I think.  Where this rule is saying you dont conduct anything directly on the forum, they can still mention or refer people elsewhere.

You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

So what exactly is the difference between a giveaway thread compared to a "free airdop" coins thread, for example?
