So, now you start accept to send some sample machine.
How do I order some?

We have only one available now at 812USD. More will be available at 30/8 at a price of 4500RMB(731USD at today's rate).

Price is to high to be competitive.

Rockminer is selling the same for much less.

Contact me for wholesale price, lead time is 20 days, price cheaper with extra miners, control panels and wires

Nobody's gotten the BE200's under 1w/gh, huh? This looks like a great miner - but power costs by me are just too high for anything less than ridiculous efficiency.

And what else can you go for which is in hand?

Well -  that's where it all falls down.

I have an S3, but it looks like the lead times on those have gone way way up. Then theres the TH of existing BE200 equipment i have :-P

If I had any more amperage to give in my apt - this looks like a compelling product.

I have a pair of Corsair CX750 power supplies (4 pcie connectors and rated for 46A on the +12V rail).  Thoughts on using the two supplies to power one unit?

Thanks!

I'm currently doing that, its fine. 2 blades per PSU.

Not including shipping cost? It is not worth enough to ship only 1miner now.
So I will wait on the end of August.

Our sample machines will cost 5000 RMB per each, 900G/1050W, without power source and shipping cost. Sample machines can be shipped at the end of August. For big orders around 500 sets, the lead time is 1 month and the price is negotiable.

HashRatio Team
For questions, please contact [email protected]

So it will be ~800USD + shipping ?

Yes, for sample. Bulk buyer can inquire the price through Email or Skype.

Considering the combined market of both USD and BTC. BTC payment seems to save some money.

Possibly, its a big $ amount but small in terms of btc when you think we were doing 10'ers for Avalon chips not long ago.

Hi Dogie, Thanks For your great wirte-up. I am Dong Zhao, the founder of HashRatio(Galaxy Dragonfly).  Currently, we are not focused on selling devices, but deploying large volume of miners.  Right now we've deployed 3 big mining farm in China (Shanxi, Neimeng, Sichuan), and finished deploying 3000 devices which using ASICMINER's Chip, and we have 2P Hash hashpower right now.
We are producing large volume of miner devices by ourself at a very low cost. We have good relationship with big ASIC chip manufatctor in China(ASICMiner, Avalon, Gridseed etc. )
We have lauched the "United minining" project, which accpet investment from all over the world. You could mail to [email protected] for more information.

So you don't sell to home miners ?

At this very second they don't, but they'll be looking at selling to consumers in the first half of September.

Get 6th/s into this power package and now were talking Wink

That would weight ~40KG!

It would, but it also wouldn't take up much space at all. These things are S3 sized and stack even better as all the connections are front facing. You could stack them in a 3x3 matrix if you added a box fan to the rear to make sure they're not choking each other if you really wanted to.

They are based in the same chip as the rockminer miners right ?

Are you facing the same problems as with the rockminer products ?

How is the long term performance ?

Same ASICMiner chips, yes.

No duplicates at all, on the controller or pool side so no problems. Stability is excellent, its not budging at all. I'm very, very surprised.

It even handles 300Mhz (OC mode) like a champ which no other BE200 product has as of yet.

Great write-up!  Interesting miner... 8 PCI-E connectors? Heh, that's a lot of cables. Power consumption looks decent though considering everything.

But again, here we have another miner that does little for the latest difficulty and th/s required for bitcoin mining.  I wish these latest antminer copycats (hashratio, rbox) would understand that more chips in a smaller form factor does not really help at this point.  Get 6th/s into this power package and now were talking Wink

You can run off 4 at stock clocks with a 16AWG PSU as that's about 220W per PCI-E, else its absolutely recommended to run both PCI-Es. Definitely when overclocking.

Am I just not noticing a link or is their website only written in Chinese?

Its in CN atm, but they'll be looking towards consumers more towards the start of September. I'm sure they'll get some distributors on board or an ENG site to cater for that.

Spondoolies, Beam & DAGlabs
Everyone knows shipping from China is dirt cheap. It would cost ~$200 to ship 40kgs. How much does Spondoolies charge for shipping per KG? IIRC they charge something ridiculous like $400 per sp30.
$300 per SP30
For bulk orders, it's considerable less

True... I think in terms of hashing though they would go after spondoolies at this point and not bitmain.

I can't make out the chinese on the page, so who knows how much this thing goes for?

Why would anyone want to buy from Spondoolies after their massive failure? (and failure to compensate adequately)

You would have to be insane to purchase an sp30 for almost $1/gh shipping in 2 months when you could get an s3 for $0.9/gh shipped in days.

Hashratio is more focused on large scale buyers (10+ units) and their site is pretty useless.

AM will begin selling this exact model (maybe upgraded?) for less than $0.65/gh.

0a) What to Expect (top)
HashRatio's Tsunami is the first implementation of ASICMiner's open source x24 reference design. It features 4 hashing boards each with 24 BE200 generation
3 chips, arranged around a central aluminium core. Lightweight stands at each end allow the units to be stacked and 8 miners can be daisy chained onto one
controller. The entire design is extremely efficient and will be the new staple in mining.

Chips96x ASICMiner Gen3
Hashrate~830GH, 920GH (OC)
Rated Voltage12V
Rated Current75A
Power.Consumption~900W, 1025W (OC)

0b) What You Need (top)
You will need a few accessories and a power supply to get started.

Click your flag to find everything you need to get started at Amazon!

1) Powering (top)
Tsunamis do not come with a power supply, and you will need a typical computer PSU with 8xPCI-E 6 pin power connectors. Strictly only 4 PCI-E connectors are
required at stock speeds, however it will reduce cable temperatures by utilising all 8. We also need to tell the PSU to always be on, as there isn't a motherboard
to do this. Cut a paper clip into a U and insert it into the green wire and either black wire to the side of the green wire. Tape it up for safety. The power supply
will now be controlled by its switch on the rear socket.

The controller board requires a 12V 2.5mm barrel connector, 1A minimum.

2) Cooling (top)
A single 120mm Nidec Beta V TA450DC fan is used to cool the central aluminium core. Noise levels are very reasonable considering the 800W or so of heat
being removed with a single fan. A push arrangement is used as the Tsunami is designed for server farm use where the cold aisle provides access to the cables
for the user.

It is noteworthy that the end furthest away from the fan may become very hot to the touch extremely hot to the touch (including the handles) during
operation, so please be careful during handling and maintenance.

3) Case (top)
The central aluminium heatsink provides the core of the frame and structure of the miner, and is supplemented by radial feet at either end. Both are
constructed of low weight aluminium, giving an overall miner weight of just 6KG for a near 1TH unit. Tsunamis are stackable both side to side and top to
bottom. The addition of a rubber strip between miners would be beneficial to reduce vibration.

4) Configuration (top)
An external 32bit PIC board is used as the controller, and can handle 8 daisy chained Tsunamis.

Wiring:
  • Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller board to you router.
  • Plug in the three wired long cable from the miner to the white socket on the controller board closest to the ethernet port.
  • If you have more than one Tsunami on the same controller, see the troubleshooting section at the bottom.
  • Plug in all eight PCI-E connectors into the Tsunami.
  • Plug in the 12V barrel connector into the controller board.

Configuration:
  • Power on the power supply using its switch at the back.
  • Make sure or your router's subnet is 0, ie 192.168.0.x. If not then change it to 0, this is just temporary. ***If this is not possible, see below***
  • Using a browser, navigate to 192.168.0.254:8000 - this goes to the Tsunami's configuration page.
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Change IP to something memorable, and on your preferred subnet.
  • Change gateway to the IP of your router.
  • Change primary DNS to the IP of your router.
  • Change secondary DNS to "8.8.8.8".
  • Enter Pool URL in the format as below. **There may be some issues with some pools at the moment, ghash definitely works**.
  • Enter the port of your pool.
  • Enter your miner username and password.
  • Set ASIC clock at 270 for stock speeds and 300 for overclocked speeds.
  • Click update and restart.
  • Navigate back to the IP of the miner you set to check mining started.
  • You can then change your router subnet back to whatever you are used to using.

Alternative Subnet Change:
  • Unplug your computer from all internet sources.
  • Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller to your computer.
  • Navigate to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Centre -> Change Adapter Settings.
  • Right click on your ethernet adapter -> Properties.
  • Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4" and click properties.
  • Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the following:
  • IP Address: 192.168.0.1, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.0.254.
  • Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller to you router.
  • Restart the configuration instructions as above.

5) Troubleshooting (top)

ProblemSolution
How.do.I.set.up.more.than.one.miner.on.one.controller?                                   - There is a 5 bit switch on each hashing board which must be configured to be unique in order for
the controller to detect it. Set the first miner's boards as "MINER1" in the below diagram, the
second's as "MINER2" etc. The long cable from one unit should be plugged into the empty
connection on the other to daisy chain the connections on the other.
How do I reset settings to default?- Hold and press the black push button on the controller board.
My.power.supply's.cables.are.braided.or.aren't.color.coded- See below diagram for pin-outs.
