Hello, i'm new to the bot and i'm searching for right configs. If someone could share great profiles, or give me the way to go  Roll Eyes

I'm currently doing btc/usd bot on btc-e with 5BTC with following configs :

Configuration - NewBot

Safeties :
     Dynamic adjusted drop-loss safety (Adjustment: 95,0 %, Update timer: 10)
     Dynamic adjusted roof-out safety (Adjustment: 125,0 %, Update timer: 10)
Indicator :
     MACD Indicator (Trend type: EMA, Short 12, Long 25, MA Cross-over) (2 minutes timer)
Insurance :
     Overcome fee costs -Insurance
     Price change -Insurance (Wanted raise: 1,0, Wanted drop: 1,0)
     Avoid Buy/Sell Walls -Insurance

Is that a good way to go ? I'm running this for a little more than 12 hours, it seems to work (made few bucks with buying/selling on 5$ margins), it also sold during the last crash and bought back when under 700, and mow the price is 745+ and it's holding so i guess it's not bad, but I would like to make it a little more "agressive".

I don't care about losing money, cryptos are gambling so if you have some suggestions don't hesitate to give them i won't blame you if it make me loose sometimes

Also, i would like to know how to configure for alts on cryptsy, let's say dogecoin for beginnig, with a very aggressive profile.

Thanks, and keep up the good work Stephan !

No, they dont know what each other are doing and are isolated from each other.  Just make sure you have enough BTC to fund the trades.

@SmokedMolex:
I am sorry, but i have no suggestion for BTCChina at the moment. There API is giving some very strange readings. Sometimes the prices get read and sometimes not. Even the fail-over is sometimes not able to solve this (you can see this in the log) I asked BTCChina for information about this but they have no answer yet. My guess is that they are changing there API, but this does not match up the strange readings. I am a bit i the dark on this, but i keep track of it too. (i trade also at BTCChina with the software)

BTW just to tell.... i have not seen terrible problems because of this. In the past i have seen exchanges progressing orders way to late with a lot of losses, this does not seem to happen at BTCChina. If such things happen i will directly submit a warning to everybody.

Edit: A full stop, is a great idea, i will add it!

@eyegoatboy:
Can you send me some details on that? Maybe can you send me the log with a support ticket at the website. This way we can have a detailed look what has happened, because this looks very strange now.

@smlu:
Next week i will start working an a innovation for the software (something new) where cancelling orders become really important. So i have the feature to cancel orders planned for next week to be added.

A converter is indeed a good suggestion, i have added it to the list here. Smiley

@Stephan,

Feature Request:

Single Click Stop All Bots Trading

I noticed the sell offs today and some of my safeties weren't working the way I had planned.  I had to stop all the bots manually and sell off to hold my position.

EDIT: Problem with BTC China was my wallet wasn't synced to exchange.  I am addressing that then hope to be using HTS there. TY for your support and software!

UPDATE: BTC China Wallet synced and bots see it.  I will set up a small trader and see how it goes over there.

UPDATE 2: I spoke too soon.  I can see the wallet amount in BTC but I get this error on console.

2/6/2014 8:56:33 PM Polling failed, no prices are availible for BTCChina at BtcCny.

I tried resetting the API keys but it didn't seem to help.

Do you have any suggestions for me to try?

Thanks!

Hi Stephan,  I have two suggestions:

    would it be able to add cancel button in open orders overview page, so you could cancel particular open order?

    And another suggestion it would be cool if you could have currency converter for Total profit made entry.

Thanks

Another suggestion - have an (optional) ability to request user logon / password to the web interface....

@trubar:
That request will be granted, i have added it it manually to the startup here but an option might be a more elegant solution. Good thinking!

@SmokedMolex:
I have it planned the benchmark to be released on monday, if all goed well. (btw there is already a huge benefit in running the simple benchmark of the indicator, i am not sure if you have seen it)

@orac69:
I will get back on that idea, i like it and it can be very usefull i think.

@papasmurph:
Great to see you are making some good trades last night. At the moment i am adding the fee costs the the log so it must become even better to read.

If you want to improve i can advice to use the high/low price indicator, i did better on DOGE with that once last night with this indicator. If you look to the prices of DOGE you see it evolves around 0.00000150 and its stable enough to use fixed prices. This advice applies to almost all the alt-coins. If you see the pattern, use it. The software is made just to do exactly that, monitor and trade on the prices 24hours a day.

BTW I also have the change log on my website now, this way everybody can see whats coming next or what has been planned/changed.

Wow lot of very good suggestions here, i will have a look to them all. Especially that one of orac69 gets me thinking...

At the moment i am working on fixing MtGox, there are some problems with that and they are a little bigger then expected. I also got a lot of confirmations of that the user-interface was not updated at everybody. So i will be making a quickfix to solve this problem as soon as i get it fixed here. You can expect to see version 0.9.6.2 being pushed real soon.

--------------

I think i can explain the RoofOut the best by calling it the reversed DropLoss. As you all know the droploss acts when a price gets lower then, the roofout does the same but when a price goes higher then.

The idea behind is that you can jump out with your investment when prices are off the scale. At a moment when the market is going mad. For example, we all have seen the high peaks of (what was it exactly?) $1200 on Btc/Usd before. Well if you had a RoofOut set at $1150 of even the $1200 then you are the ones who have sold just in time. So before the peak and before the big drop where no orders gets progressed anymore. In plain words: then you can call yourself rich i guess, depending on your investment of course.

The RoofOut should not fire directly after activation, i can confirm it happens to the dynamic one and this is a big bug. (btw i do recommend to use the static one anyway, then you know what will happen)

I will be back soon with the news of the update and to answer any remaining questions.

Edit:
I just updated the Trade Server to version 0.9.6.2

It solves the problem with MtGox, it solves the interface for those who did not get it the first time and i have added some additional alt-coins (Cash, Leaf, Meow and Vtc).

Stephan,

I know that with the simple bot licence, you only get 2 trade bots..Right now if I try and add a 3rd I simply cant..

However I think you should allow unlimited trade bots - so people can set them up for testing for example.   I want to set up more for testing different exchanges etc.  Right now I cant as it would disrupt my active bots..

So I think the licence key should restrict ACTIVE / TRADING bots, not the total number of trade bots added...

SAPG Pre-Sale Live on Uniswap!
@Stephan,

Could you please write a little bit about how the safeties work?

I have tried looking them up in trading dictionaries but I am not able to find what "RoofOut" means etc.

I presume it is when the signal turns 90 degrees to fall, the bot would sell out before the signal reached the base line.  Is this correct?

Thank you
RoofOut - this is a dangerous function! If you activate this function, DO NOT immediately start activate the bot, you need to give him a At least 10 minutes to work offline. I had already twice that after restart, bot sold immediately at any price. I have already lost at this 0.5 BTC
@Stephan
this is normal or is there a solution?

I think I see what I've done wrong with my indicators.  They were set on a really conservative setting.

So I changed that and the bots are more aggressive now.

Also I noticed my Doge wasn't getting traded out. Turns out I forgot to get the exchange on the indicators.

I should be all set now, I hope.  Smiley

Thanks for explaining that.

I've given this thing 20 LTC as a test on BTCe.  It's turned $.50 in profits.

So I definitely don't have something right but wanted to make sure I had the right kinds of safety before I start telling it to do something....extremely stupid.

No. I don't think thats how the 'RoofOut' works.  I just looked over the Indicator.  It looks more like its a 'Limit Sell Order'

Notice in the static Roofout it asks for a price while the Dynamic Roofout asks for a percentage above the buy price.  That tells me it works oppisite of how a stop loss does.

Roof Out would be used to secure profits in a gaining trade.  Since we can't know for sure how high a price will gain in a trade some like to limit their outcome by selling early to secure a profit.

Nice improvements   I really like the additional info on the "Trade Bot List"

I've been quite for I have not been using things till the Benchmark Tool goes live.  Waiting for that  Grin

Keep up on the good work
