In order for this to happen, you need to protect yourself. Choose carefully the crypto currency. And also reliable, safe wallets. And always keep all news and events under control.

Yes, I was hacked once and I lost 10 different coins there, although the amount was small. But this was the fault of the current, I did not include 2fa authentication and the exchange did not raise any questions. The main thing is to monitor the security of your wallet and include all security measures. Neither of which sites it shine its passwords from exchanges also install an antivirus and update the system itself.
Not using all the available security is the reason why hackers have successfully been able to scoop a lot of people off their funds. If go for an analysis with every situation then you may find this very easily. Yes, being lazy with protecting ourselves is the reason here at most of the times.

It is a digital world, and you always have to find a way to stay secured. It is just like having a bank, and then you decide not to put all the necessary security measure to secure the bank or rather talking about building a house and not doing the same. Being secured is purely within our hands and we must follow all the prescribed measurements very keenly all the times.

Security is always paramount if you want to keep yourself secured from invaders and in this space, hackers are looking for those they can invade and if you stay vulnerable, you easily become a victim.

It is correct that hacking is one of the problems crypto facing nowadays. It is always been a burden thing that must be eliminated. However, it only happens on centralized platforms. Some are done through malicious phishing sites. So we must be wary.

It is easy for us to avoid it if we will just focus on the security, but for those centralized platforms like exchange site, then it is a burden one.

Very well said this is true, but if you want to protect your fund you need to use a hardware wallet and dont hold on any exchange sote because the tendency to hack your account is very risky, the very important you need to understand the exchange site is only for in and out system not for longterm holding.

Recently CryptoHub platform was hacked and hackers stolen big amount of BTC, LTC; ETH, DOGE; XMR, WAVES
Platform will remain disabled until vulnerability found.

Hacking is one of the biggest obstacles to the cryptocurrency market.
1- Ever been hacked?
2- Lost your coins in an exchange hacking?
3-Did the exchange pay you back for lost coins?

Please share your story, and give some TIPS on how to avoid being hacked.

I think that some percentage of users was hacked, but only because people do not use hardware wallets to protect. You have to buy Ledger and protection from hackers is assured.

Hacking is not a new phenomena. The first instances surfaced in 2011, when Bitcoin was just 2 years old. And we need to remember that in a huge majority of the cases, the hacking incidents turned out to be insider jobs.

correct. hacking can be helpful in making network more secure. losing money sucks though for those who have but hacking in itself is not really a bad thing, it makes developer work harder to make their network more secure. We've had exchanges who've shut down and kept all the money and I think that is much worse.

My answer is no.

Speaking more constructively, I can say that hacking is a catalyst for progress. If this did not happen, cryptocurrency exchanges would not improve their own security, and we would not have a good secure antivirus. This is important. The victims of hacking are soldiers in our global cyberspace.

It does. It is one of the major things that hinders the growth of the market since people are always losing their coins to hackers and so he new people that should be coming into the market are scared of getting hacked and losing all of their coins so we are missing out on a lot of new adoption because of the hacking. We have to find a way to curb the hacking menace and we all need to be more careful

Yes i do have experience. My wallet was hacked but the amount was very small. I would say, it was my mistake as well. I entered the wrong URL. Went into a fake URL. When i just left logged in for an hour and i did not notice the money was stolen. Later an hour i checked out the account and had no money. No transaction history as well. Very sad.

How was it not transaction history? The blockchain is built so that all transactions are available in clear form. If your wallet was used to transfer funds, there must be a transaction.

It's enough to observe basic safety rules if you keep your money in your wallet and everything will be fine. With exchanges it is more difficult, you should approach this issue more carefully if you are going to store a significant part of your savings.
Good advise, before doing something with regards to your money better to make good assessment, if you will missed doing this it will be a tough regret
when you lose part of your investment because of hacks, knowing advantages using a safe wallets and make your own extra securities will gain you good
advantages against those who don't have, hackers are always present so better to be well prepared against them.

Yeah and for hackers to have a significant effect on the market itself, they would have to break through major security walls that's quite hard to breach. Exchanges are one if the main targets of these hackers that can have a big effect either directly or through fud but these do have pretty establsihed security protocols.

This is not entirely true, because hacking affects not only the crypto currency, think for yourself, if it were not for hackers, then we would not be able to build such a security system today, it seems to me that it is hackers that contribute to improving security.
Even so justifying that hacking activities is not a right thing. I mean if they want to help improve the security why dont they report the hole or bug they found to the technical teams?
most of company will even give a compensation or reward if they feel get helped by the report

I've been hack in my exchange wallet but it seems they not doing any way to resolve it they just ignored me  and did not reply to any email I provided to them so for now I'd learn, I don't use those new exchanges site which is less widely used. I must prefer those exchanges site that many know it and users.

I honestly think hacking is blown way out of proportion.
Of course it sucks, but as far as it killing the market?  nah.
And the post was made a year ago and hear we are in 2019 with a market that has bee totally sluggish.

Has it been this way because of hacks?
No, it is a result of low volume and an inevitable crash after unsustainable growth back in jan.

Also, I have very little sympathy for those who do get hacked.
If you follow the basic ways to secure you coins you will never get hacked.
When I see someone flashing their new phone around while they travel in the poorest parts of central america, I don't feel sorry for them when it gets stolen.
Paper wallets are totally free to make an entirely secure, why won't you have them?
