I don't like rasberry's - I wonder if I can run this thing without the rasberry - they're unreliable as far as I'm concerned

I assume it would just be a case of opening it up & unplugging it? but yeah, no word on what the software is yet so can't be sure

it's possible they use cpuminer whihc I don't like because it has no api for monitoring and I use cgwatcher to monitor my 20 gridseeds and my 4 blades.

we shall see.

for me there are a  lot of unanswered questions.

1 -instruction for setup - where are they?
2 - does this thing come with a built in rasberry controller? - unanswered
3 - power plugs on back are 8 pins - do we plug our 6 pin gpu plug only or 6+2 when possible - unanswered
4 - can a static IP address be set - unanswered
5 - is this thing using controlla software - if so - where the link to the new software

many questions....

does anyone know these answers?

#2 is right there on their site

WHAT IS INCLUDED:
1 x LUNAR LANDER WARP 1
1 x SD CARD ready for Raspberry Pi with HASHRA CONTROLA firmware.
1 x USB DATA cable to use with Raspberry Pi
1 x Raspberry Pi Power cable for standard Power supply unit (4 PIN Connection)
1 x Raspberry Pi
1 x 24 Pin Power Switch connector to be used with your Standard Power Supply Unit.
1 x Ethernet cable for Raspberry Pi to your router.

for #3 I didn't really understand why Hashra said you need 2x 6pin because to my understanding 1x8 pin provides about the same amount of power.

The others I can't comment at all sorry

I don't like rasberry's - I wonder if I can run this thing without the rasberry - they're unreliable as far as I'm concerned and I did not like having to apply that boot patch they all required,

it took me about 1 week to deep six the rasberry on my gridseeds.

Now I just run my seeds and my blades from a rig with one Gpu card in it...

I downloaded the BAMT on a stick from ltcrabbit and then downloaded and compiled the gridseed version of cgminer and they run perfectly and never ever go offline. I love this setup.

Simon promised by month end as he's delivered.

for some perhaps. It's almost June 2nd here & I've heard nothing :/

Also no word on what they will do for not living up to the promised hash-rate, just a mail 2 weeks ago with some suggestions of what may happen. I'd like to here something concrete on what is happening for that pls. In the same mail they said they'd have fantastic discount for us early adopters in batch 2 but w/out receiving the first unit why would I ever double down & buy another one?

Agreed.  I have no tracking number an no communication since early on the 31st.  I also find it, um, curious that the Web site which used to claim full refunds for late orders no longer says so.  It is in this thread, however.  If I were Hashra, I'd find a way to honor that pledge or do something equivalent (free miners?) - or I would suspect clientele will flee.  It's a bit of an opportunity, honestly, if Simon and Hashra can actually deliver miners and on their pledge to make earlier adopters whole, they may find themselves with a loyal customer base, strong references, and an open door to the lead in the scrypt ASIC market.

I did just get a tracking number today.  And the box appears to be moving.  So that is progress.  I guess I find it somewhat encouraging to hear that everyone was delayed by the holiday.  Seems like a rather obvious oversight for a company at least partially based in China - sort of like forgetting Christmas.  It's a huge, 2-Day holiday.  Came at a pretty interesting time with the May 31st shipping promise...

no real ulterior motive. It was really down to the wire with Simon - I've been keeping in touch with him my email and he's been working day and night to bring this all together. Nothing he really could have done pulling this thing together from scratch in ..what's it been - about 6 to 7 weeks?

Perhaps.  I do find it curious that the Web site used to say full refunds if orders were not sent by the 31st (as this thread does), but now that language is gone from the Hashra site.  I also find it curious that there was that egregious of an oversight on the holiday.  Hey, I'll be happy to get my miner, and hopefully this was all an innocent mistake.  But it does seem like a rather convenient mistake that bought Hashra three days - and why did the guarantee language disappear from the Web site?  Just... curious.

I would only surmise that it's because he got all Batch 1 orders processed by the end of May.

But it you placed an order and feel you want a refund instead of the unit post it here and let Simon respond. Seems pretty simple to me. What type of Unit did you order in Batch 1?

I ask because I know for a fact there are people on this forum masquerading as customers who really work for competitors and seek only to discredit competitors.

which one are you?

Like I wrote earlier - I'll be happy if I get my miner (Warp 2) after a few days delay from an innocent mistake.  I'm an enthusiast.  I'd like it to work and have a reliable, trusted source for ASIC miners as I will likely order more.  Listen, we're all a bit nervous - lots of rumors, lots of stories of companies not delivering and not honoring guarantees.  The tone and prior evidence I found on Hashra did seem to indicate they were trustworthy and I made an investment.  I want that to be a fruitful investment.  I do think it's to the benefit of the community for the facts to be laid bare.   As I wrote earlier, there is a huge opportunity IMHO for a vendor who proves reliable.  But there is also a huge risk of grift.  I'll be honest about my experience on this thread - right now I'm hopeful with a tinge skepticism.  Updates to follow.

Nobody in this thread seems to be overly harsh on them in my book. Although you seem to be promoting them a bit harder than just an ordinary person might normally do so Wink

this is true - I'm so used to being fucked over by so many of the vendors out here it's refreshing to deal with someone who treats me like a real customer should be treated.

which is why I like Simon and Hashra

yeah, i can understand that.
still haven't got my own tracking number so I guess it'll have to be tomorrow (hopefully)  Perhaps I have a high order number or something

by the way - I'm also a big advocate of https://minereu.com/ and http://mining-asics-tecnologies.com who I also says great things about and let's not forget member Cablez who has made all my power cables.

HASHRA don't plan to design a new ASIC which will mine for scrypt-N too ?
I know  Lighting Asics and Flowertech want to do this.

well - I would not count on that for a while since they're asic resistant.

it's the whole idea behind those algo's - like X11 scrypt-jane etc.... is to keep us out!!!

we're bad and must be punished for using asics - we don't eat enough electric and our carbon footprint is not big enough to be allowed into their exclusive little club of coins...LOL

we're able to mine to without having to 'git' and compile - we're the peons of mining - the interlopers... we're bad for the industry.
