Many of airdrop is scam, but some of them is legit, especially if the altcoins have reputation, they give the reward. I've joined many of airdrop until now, most of them are not giving the reward, its up to you if you work on it or not or if you join or not.. the choice is yours.
There are some airdrops that are still very valuable, but now most of them are worthless, and very hard to make money, So I gave up and had to find a good project to follow so I didn't lose the time I spent.
If you consider most Airdrops to be worthless, it means that you can conclude that all Airdrops are no longer valuable except for Airdrops with certain support, and for the actual project too, because not all projects can be successful now.It's not easy to make a project successful because it takes a lot of effort,
besides that, of course there must be a good team because that also affects the success or failure of a project
You will hardly see any airdrops these days that are worth the effort. Any strong team would be better off keeping the coins and running a successful ICO or IDO instead of dropping the coins for free. It used to be interesting a few years ago, but not anymore.

Yes, because most of the scam is that some people have decided to no longer participate in any Airdrop except in Airdrops supported by popular exchanges, because Airdrops supported by exchanges are different from Airdrops in general. 
let's try not to despair, on average projects that distribute free coins do not pay a lot or are scams but still there are projects that will pay you and even if you are lucky maybe you will get paid in large amounts. You just have to try and keep trying.

95% of all the airdrop are mostly a waste time and don't worth the effort you put in to do the airdrop, I can't remember the last time I join any airdrop campaign, most projects only focus on other campaigns instead of airdrop, in the past airdrop use to be worth something but not any
Airdrop is a free and it is used to stimulate the transactions. Why would you angry with free money and not delivered to you ? Do you know that stellar also was airdroped. If you really want legit airdrop go to coinmarketcap then you go to earn tab then answear the quiz there. Its legit airdrop.

Airdrop task are simple, participants doesn't need to work hard for most of the airdrops. I have participated in some airdrops to observe their success rate. Well, a participant really need lots of patience, cause the project team release the payment after so long. And very few of those airdrop gets real value. Though most other airdrop doesn't give payment. I have received small amount from most of them but I also got decent amount of money from one or two airdrops. The amount is really less than the valuable time which we spent to complete the tasks of any airdrop. But it's all about free money and we shouldn't expect more.You have to wait a lot and work harder than hard for earning a small amount of money.

I've participated in some pretty good airdrops in the past (my favorite probably being the Energi one).. however, I also came to the realization one day that airdrops for the most part, are worthless. These days it's gotten even worse. I joined about 10 of them a couple months back and just like you, never got a single token. It seems these days most airdrops are just a waste of time and they're just using you to get some free promotion.
