I just had a word with the president of the Barrie Amateur Radio Club. They are open to receiving assistance with accepting Bitcoin (and possibly others) in order to accept it as payment for membership. Once the Barrie CryptoMall opens, we will have our first business!

papersheepdog, Canada

You might want to talk to them about implementing protocols for transmitting CGB (and others) via Ham radio frequencies. Keep in mind that ham communications are worldwide and designed to be used in the event of local or, global failure of other communication systems. Devs could get together with them to create a special wallet that would easily integrate with their systems. This would be a real first and easily taken up by the millions of Hams throughout the world. Talk about innovation...

The thought crossed our minds! After all, it is possible to get a standard IP link running over ham radio. This is just another channel for real world adoption that we would love to explore. I have floated the idea of a digital modes special interest group within the club, and this would be right up that alley. I can already see a lightweight (partial blockchain) client excelling in certain use cases here. It's a function we have had our eyes on for quite some time.

My real concern imz seen as flybynighters
Been runnin on passion and pennies since day one -- bdisability pensioner guy and ovrworkef family guy

Me kneeling in scrub 500m from house. Half a bar of green intermittenly
In brief

Several aus governments squabbled over National internet covetage programmes. Result is a patchwork. Telstra Australia has monopoly. Is loathed by country folk cause some fell through the cracks.

IMZ will survive in reduced form. Can post Hello when in town.

Hang in there Mark! Do you have other providers? Satellite perhaps? I wish we could provide material support, but the steam is only just picking up Smiley I'd also like to note, there is no minimum requirement for a CryptoMall to function. Simply an online directory would qualify. When we get you back online full time, you can dedicate yourself better as a consultant.

Any Australian who wants cryptomall.com.au can have it. The situation looks bleak .

Mark, Aus.

Hey Mark, lets get on a call or something. I am still not totally sure what's happening. Last I heard you were having major internet issues, but is that the main problem? If its a funding issue, I know how you feel, but we should be picking that up. I would hold off on anything drastic for now Smiley Hopefully service improves.

As I have mentioned in the past, I will be looking into starting a CryptoMall here in Ontario once things settle down for me. Also the article should hopefully bring in some new interest.

Pretty good especially considering the domain changes.  Or do you think that has to do with it?  I'm not sure how those rankings are calculated.

'Proto merchant facility':

Set a small local merchant up with BTC and CGB wallets.
Undertake to mentor
Give the merchant two hundred bucks -- 'pre exchange'
Transfer CGB from your wallet to the merchant's for goods or services
When merchant has $200 of cgb she transfers them back

Clumsy, unprofitable, time-consuming; but it introduces a merchant to 'total crypto.' CGB becomes crypto home base.
Of course, everyone also develops Big Picture Stuff (like vericoin), but think as a libertarian. You are creating a real grass-roots crypto community attuned to a suite of coins, in which individuals can buy and sell the currencies for fiat and bullion and goods and services.

Payment processor???

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the numerous services? We will reach out to each to discuss CGB and the CryptoTown project.

Currently in development and i believe it will be ground breaking when it launches, would definitely be major plus for CGB to be included on this, maybe devs could get in contact with Byron about it?

Crypto Card Store - Global Store Featuring Prypto Cards and USB Card Wallets
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-global-store-featuring-prypto-cards-and-usb-card-wallets-updated-568463

I am officially announcing that Atomic Trade, LLC. will be creating a store to sell Prypto cards and other goods though a global distribution network.

Contact: Allen Byron Penner

A New Vision in Crypto Currency Conversion
Virtual Currency Card Store
    Barnegat, New Jersey, April 10, 2014 (updated April 13, 2014):  Atomic Trade, LLC. (Atomic Trade) in cooperation with Prypto Group Limited (Prypto) will be making a great leap forward in virtual currency to fiat conversion. Atomic Trade will be the umbrella of a new store that will allow easy conversion of fiat to virtual currencies by relieving the stress of Id verification, time limits, purchase limits and other banking constraints.
    This new store will sell crypto scratch cards provided by Prypto and allow customers to pay quickly. As of this writing, the current payment options being investigated are: merchant account (credit cards), PayPal, Google Wallet, WePay, Skrill, ProPay, Dwolla, Braintree, Stripe, and many others. Of course, charge backs are a common concern.  There will be a policy in place where all cards will be shipped with tracking. No refunds will be given unless a card is returned in the same condition as when it was shipped.  The selling and shipping of a physical product, frees us from quite a bit of the liability from fraudulent claims.
    The store will have distribution centers around the globe to ensure cards are delivered within days. As an additional option, you may be able to receive the purchased card numbers online, nearly instantly. The simple fact that we will be shipping physical goods allows us to work with payment processors that otherwise would be out of reach due to restrictions on buying virtual currencies.

    In addition, please remember the following:
* Site will be created and run with the highest security by Atomic Trade, LLC.
* Site will always run with complete financial transparency.
* Physical goods will be shipped to prevent fraud and decrease liability.
* Physical cards provided by Prypto.
* Multiple quick and easy purchase options.
* No bank account required.
* Run by an established trusted company.
* Global distribution system

_______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________

Current Progress
* Equipment and supplies ordered and arriving daily (completed)
* Software development (started)
* Global distribution system (started)
* Acceptable payment processing methods (under review, 1 down)
* Working to see how instant delivery would affect fraud liabilities (under review)
* Domain/Store name (up for vote)
* https://www.Atomic-Trade.com is now hosting CCS (completed symbol CCS).
* USB credit/biz card client wallets added to the lineup

Please feel free to post or contact me with any questions!
