My major hold has always been bitcoin,with that I am at rest even while it's dipping but holding several altcoins makes me uneasy so I rather buy and sell once I see profit and then move to the next potential one that is rewarding, but at every point in time,I have some Eth and binance coin.
I chose HOLD altcoin, I once bought NXT when the price of NXT was still very high,
and now if I sell I lose 99%, so I will hold back until the price returns a minimum 50% of my capital

There are a few old coins are still in my wallet. I'm holding those coins since 2016 and those are: eth, waves, neo, Dogecoin & Decent. Be careful about decent coin cause i realise that was a scam coin. But others are good & can expected little benefit from those

IMO, alts are good only for short term profits.
I remember when the ico participants of ethereum have paid $0.2 for each ethereum.

for altcoin i just hold ethereum and several alt in the TOP lists my friend

Obviously ETH is the best altcoin in this market, but I believe it will not bring you too much profit because its price has gone up too high. It is better to choose a few other altcoins at low prices, among the top 10 are the best options to buy
Ethereum used to be the best altcoin in the market, but that is no longer the case. And the Ethereum developers can blame themselves for this. Back in 2017, there were even talks about ETH overtaking BTC. But then the ICO market crashed and ETH lost as much as 95% of its value. Then even the developers abandoned the work and the failed to fix the bugs and security issues on time.
at this time the only ethereum. I think, if it's not bitcoin, then ethereum is a very good choice. however, many people choose USDT nowadays. however, seeing prices back as low as $ 6k, I think people are looking for assets that are likely to rise. however, if you are looking for altcoin, ethereum is always the first choice.
Ethereum is the best altcoin to invest, not like other shit coins, Ethereum had more high chance of rising like the last bull run. For me bitcoin and ethereum is safest coin to invest for long term

I currently hold NRG, KMD, ETH, XMR and MMOcoin. Selling your holding now is not a wise decision if emergency situations do not occur and some altcoin is a good idea but i will personally prefer to accumulate more bitcoins instead of altcoin which market is highly manipulated.I didn't sell any altcoins that I'm holding lately (i probably should), however, is it a smart idea to buy them now or wait a bit more?

With that been said, despite the risk in crypto market due to market volatility in nature the altcoins i mentioned are good to go.
When bitcoin or ethereum starts to rise/drops which they usually do after 6-8 months of halving I think that would be the best time to buy alts (if you trade using BTC) because during that time mostly all the alts would be in red.
It seems like the people holding back Ethereum are now smiling. although the increase isn't that big, but it looks like it's good enough. if its development can reach the price of $ 250, then other potential will be seen. at present, more people are suggesting to hold ethereum because of this potential. I also held ethereum because of some people's recommendations.
for now, I hold a bit of bitcoin and also a few other altcoins, given the current unstable crypto market the steps I have to take is to wait for the crypto market to rise again, after the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world is lost it's likely that the crypto market will increase again.

In my opinion, holding on dearest life these days is a good decision specially now that ethereum is increasing little by little so we could say it could continously increased. Patience is the key for a much big profit so I would like to suggest that if you hodl some altcoins be wise and learn where to invest the best.
Altcoins can be a great investment if you do your research
If you are confident in the project team then why not buy it. Now prices for altcoins are very low, so you should buy something. The most important thing is to be sure of the project and the coin personally. I myself no longer hold any altcoins, only btc.
I like the first statement. It is believed that before one become confident in a project means a thorough research has already been made on the project and its coin. There are many altcoins with great future on the market which are equally good to HODL with BTC. Especially the proof of stake coins. Jump to:
