If you are confident in the project team then why not buy it. Now prices for altcoins are very low, so you should buy something. The most important thing is to be sure of the project and the coin personally. I myself no longer hold any altcoins, only btc.
I think that just choosing Bitcoin as a long-term investment is more than enough because the market has been on a rising trend in the past few days, and Bitcoin nearly reached $10,000 yesterday. In my opinion, there is no need to invest altcoins because these coins often depend on Bitcoin prices, and you cannot be sure of anything because the risks of altcoins are huge.

Holding Altcoins can pay off if people are patient. I have noticed that some masternode coins have been performing very well against Bitcoin in the past several months like StakeCube, Midas and Flits which have all done very well just to name a few. So holding Alts can be very profitable, its just finding the right ones at the right time before they explode.
You must be careful when you want to hold a coin because when you hold a coin then you must be able to be neutral and not be affected by anything because sometimes some people who do hold it until they are still easy to be affected by the situation at the exchange place.

I think Holding altcoins must be better if you choose the right one. At this moment  I am holding many altcoins, also some of my capital I converted into Bitcoin and USDT! Now i have Xem, Ripple, Ada, Energi, trx and some other coins are available. If you want to buy and hold, then you can Buy Neo, ETH, XRP, and zec! These coins have a high potential to be x3 to x5!

Which altcoins are you hodling?

I didn't sell any altcoins that I'm holding lately (i probably should), however, is it a smart idea to buy them now or wait a bit more?

What are you holding? and what will you do?
I currently hold NRG, KMD, ETH, XMR and MMOcoin. Selling your holding now is not a wise decision if emergency situations do not occur and some altcoin is a good idea but i will personally prefer to accumulate more bitcoins instead of altcoin which market is highly manipulated.
There are thousands of altcoins some useless and shitcoin, holding altcoin for long term is very risky, if your trying to invest with altcoin it is wisely to invest with small amount of portion of your fund in crypto currency and only invest what you can afford to lose .
It's not very risky to hold altcoin. Did you think people will actually buy shitcoin when it comes to invest in the altcoin? it's better for you to see the fact if there are a bunch of altcoins that worth to invest. A lot of major coins were also coming from the small altcoins too.

Thats true altcoins are profitable if you happen to invest in a worthy coins. Thus finding that kind of coin is what we need to do to gain profit from holding alts. Top alts are often the good coins for long term but there are not popular coins with potential as well, just do some digging to know it.

Yes and that is what I mentioned in here a couple of months ago about having a mixed portfolio of top 100-200 coins and some potential coins outside the top 200 that look to have a active dev team and working products which the coins I mentioned above do have and continue to work on the projects which is why we see some coins out side the top 200 perform well and not many people know about them.

The trick is not the act of HODLing but the type of altcoin being HODLed. Not all altcoins are worth HODLing and this is why it is very important when it comes to the choosing of an altcoin to HODL. An extensive research is needed to choose among the many the very few altcoins that have higher chance of rising within the period of time set by the investor.

I am holding some coin in my wallet and i think many traders holding too. Everyone waiting for the next bull run. which preserve come about anytime, but unfortunately, we should to be serene for the reason that the bull move along motionless not comes in this month. If you would like to bad buy the altcoin, I presumption you notwithstanding gain time to make that, but you prerequisite to evaluate additional to recover possible altcoins. You tin good deal the uppermost 10 coin slant and handhold it until both coin be capable of increase, but that will hardship extensive currency to purchase entirely of them.
Just invest properly and choose the right time to buy, you will surely make a huge profit from this market. I think altcoin is always the right choice for everyone and in my opinion, should consider investing in the top 10 best coins.

However, you do not always make a profit as the crypto market is very volatile, and even a small mistake can cost you more than half of your assets in a short period of time.

top 10 altcoins might be an option for me to buy it and hold it like ETH, BNB and Chainlink become my choice to buy it

Those coins are overpriced and there was no reason for people to invest in those coins except ethereum that is still having a lot of potentials to touch its ATH again. As long as people try to hold the trusted coins and whatever rank that already achieved by the coin and it will always very profitable.

You can't say they are overprice, these coins have already dumped many times and yet they still survive and grow a bit.
they have not fully recovered yet from the dump, so I guess they are a good buy IMO, of course except fro BNB which has made its ATH last year.

for you it could be overprice but that is your opinion, that is why everyone may have different outcome in investing because we don't have the same opinion on a certain coin or project, invest what we think is right, besides we are all betting here.

Alter coin holding is never a smart idea for me.I think trading is a smart idea. Some earning is possible through it.I have held many altar coins.
I didn't get anything good out of it.However, if there is any stacking, it can be held.It seems possible to get something good from there.

Well I would prefer to trade Bitcoin than holding any altcoin now because it might get to where it won't be able to recover again. One needs to thread with caution so as not to lose heavily.

If Bitcoin moves sideways now that halving has been done, do you think altcoins won't spike up in price? Many altcoins dumped massively while BTC was on uptrend, especially in satoshi value. As for me, right now 60% of my portfolio will remain in BTC, while the remaining 40% will be in 3 altcoins. I already bought more ETH and BNB today, hoping for the best. Soon ETH 2.0 news should cause an uptrend for ETH everything being equal, just my opinion anyway.

it all depends of course on the type of altcoin itself, if indeed the altcoin that we will hold is quite potential and has a high trading volume then it is possible that if we are able to hold for a long time the altcoin we hold will be able to provide benefits in the future, but before that we have to be careful and more observant in choosing the type of altcoin that we will hold because there are already many altcoins that have not been able to survive for a long time because many are leaving to invest in related altcoins so that related altcoin projects cannot be trusted for the future.

ETH is best option. Day by day others altcoin are fall . I also lossed much usd by holding altcoin without eth. But LTC also good. If you hold long term you will choose it. I earn some usd from LTC.
ethereum and litecoin have price movements that follow bitcoin price movements price movements are very stable while other altcoins are very different, or maybe you can try on bitcoin cash which in my opinion has a fairly stable price movement too and you should know that in cryptocurrency there is a risk of movement price so you have to take advantage of that movement to be able to get a profit.
