~snip~ I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

I have a monthly spending budget, and I never spend more than what I set out to do for gambling…well…almost never actually.

My gaming standards aren't the best either, as I still need to be more disciplined about schedules, as sometimes I spend all the money I've set aside for the month in the first two weeks and then I have to deal with withdrawal for another 15 days.

I always bet on football, I have some favorite teams and championships, that's where I place my bets.
When I make a profit (which is rare) I end up spending all of it on games of chance (not sports games), because my intention is never to make money, but to have fun.... so that's my reward when I manage to make a profit. profit from sports games.

It's difficult to self-regulate from discipline because gamblers probably won't think about being disciplined with time, in fact many gamblers forget the time when playing gambling, so I don't think that alarm clocks can help us fully when we have to start gambling and when to stop gambling , it all has to be from our own self-awareness to regulate emotions from the heart so that we can control everything.

I think the most effective way is to limit the budget so that it is not too wasteful and waste money on unnecessary gambling, when the budget money runs out always remember that gambling wisely and always consistent with the limits that have been set because with that it can help us be more disciplined during be lived consistently and this is a healthy pattern of gambling.
Discipline is such a hard thing to do especially if you are on the adrenaline of a winning streak.
Just recently I felt it when I hit 3 times x400 in my favorite Keno game. 6 numbers, that's all I need out of my 7 picks. (7 hits will be x800) I kept on going thinking about another x400 will come out but even after all the winnings were depleted, it never came out again. Again, discipline. Knowing when to stop. Giving the time to rest after a win. These are hard things to do when you are in the moment of feeling lucky.

I have a budget too. That's given. Once it's depleted, I will never chase a loss. But it's just sad that we can stop there but won't be able to withdraw in our winning moments. I think learning when to stop after a win should also be learned so that we can create a budget for our next gambling session and not just be out of our personal pockets all the time.
Discipline is most important thing with gambling. This is the place where most of the gamblers end up their hard earned money. The start and stop point in gambling is very important. In between we should also know when to take a break, at the very beginning of wagering we can understand whether this gonna be good day or not. If something is disturbing to stop wagering just do it. Never gamble by force.

Nowadays people are much into sports betting which doesn't lead to addiction all of the sudden as it is possible to enjoy wins based on the information we've got related to the particular sports and team players involved.

I don't have a gambling addiction, but I acknowledge that there are issues with my gambling habits that need to be addressed and corrected. One of the effective ways to tackle this is by observing, imitating, or modifying the patterns of other gamblers to suit me best. I'm curious about your own gambling lifestyle. Do you set aside specific times each day or week for gambling?
I observe my gambling activities regularly. I try to do it every week or some times two weeks later and learn about my activity and other's gambling patterns. Because I think I don't know everything. If I can learn something from others, it can influence my gambling activities in some positive way. I also do research in advance on certain matches in sports betting and try to place bets accordingly. But in gambling I can't bet according to specific time. However, research can be done in advance and I am able to conduct betting activities at any time during the match.
It's so much better when you can control yourself to gamble only a few times a week to stay away from addiction in the long run. It's not easy to control yourself to set up gambling patterns like you because usually gamblers will lose and chase losses and come every day at gambling to find profits and cover losses. but I see you have positive thinking here when you can consistently stick to the plan that you have set before betting.
and you have the right choice when choosing to bet on sports because this type of bet doesn't really trigger adrenaline which will increase the feeling of emotion when you lose and you just have to place a bet and watch the match. I admit that if you set a consistent gambling pattern, you will be able to avoid addiction.
Many peeps plunge into the dark abyss of gambling addiction, never setting boundaries. The whole "chase losses and find profits" business sounds good in theory, but it's a surefire way to kick-start a spiral of doom

Kudos to our buddy here who's got a grip on this slippery slope. His "few times a week" strategy is a refreshing change, like a cool lemonade on a sweltering summer day. And yes, sports betting is a different animal altogether; less of a crazy adrenaline-fueled rollercoaster, more of a cozy ferris wheel ride. A subtle awe fills you as you wait for the outcome while watching the match

Even though it can't help us completely, at least there is a reminder for us to know when to stop gambling. And if we continue to practice stopping, we will not be affected by gambling and can even manage our time to gamble and do other things.

Limiting money for gambling can also be done to prevent you from using excessive money because many people still forget to limit their money. And before the budget for gambling is exhausted, we must stop regardless of the outcome and not try to recover our previous losses.
There are many gamblers in gambling who lose their money even after winning big. Many of them do not know when they should stop. If a gambler can take a break whenever he wants, he will suffer relatively less in gambling. Moreover, every gambler should have limitations in gambling. In order to be protected from excessive loss, there must be a break from trying to recover the loss otherwise the amount of loss will be increased.

This all goes down to gamble responsibly and awareness of financial and bankroll management.  I also see people losing badly after getting huge winnings on the initial stage of the gambling session.  I often see many streamers getting huge wins from the initial bonus buys but lose them all in the end.  Others being triggered even spin their bankroll to oblivion.

Moderating our gambling activity will surely help us to manage our bankroll fund properly.  Since keeping ourselves moderated can help us to check on ourselves and urge ourselves to avoid excessive time activity and bets during our gambling session.

This is why I limit my self with option to only gamble when I have extra funds and at most 1 time(s) a week.

This can only be achieved when someone is able to retain a really good self control. The self control can only be learned by passing in different difficult situations that makes a person think cold headed and if he is not stopping even after such events happen to him then this is a very bad sign,it means he is completely addicted and he does not care about anyone or anything anymore, the only concern he has is to gamble.

In such case asking for professional help is the best thing to do.It is becoming increasingly difficult to stop gambling when we gamble online especially as that is easy to do and overdo and only in the end to see the bad consequences it brings to persons.

Gotta agree on the discipline part, mate. No app or reminder can substitute our inner self-control. We cant just rely on alarms to make us stop, can we? Alarms might just become an annoying buzz in the background while we're too busy rolling the dice or spinning the roulette. We might even start resenting these ticking clocks for being an unnecessary distraction!

Our brains can be our best friend or our worst enemy in this situation. A bit of a sad fact, but true. Its more about building that internal mental firewall that says "No, it's time to stop."

Budgeting is indeed key, pal. If you see gambling as entertainment, treat it like you would a movie or a dinner date. Set aside a certain amount of money and dont spend more than you can afford to lose. Then you'll be able to enjoy the ride without the morning-after regret!

Do you set aside specific times each day or week for gambling? If you enjoy sports betting, do you bet on games throughout the week whenever they're available? When it comes to visiting casinos, do you play at one today or this week and then try out a different one the next time you want to gamble? As for bankroll management, do you track it using an app, Excel, or any other methods? And regarding your environment, do you prefer playing at an online casino while listening to music in the background, or do you prefer a quiet atmosphere? I may have missed other aspects, but these questions should suffice for now. I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

There is some "freshness" in his approach, which is a classic on the subject of betting to discuss.

I think that I liked how you started, because having these types of problems that you mention does not mean that you are addicted, in fact it is part of the training and entertainment.

Knowing each other or getting to that in our habits is part of that whole, making graphs, keeping data, whether simple or complex, are part of that training and entertainment that we as habitual betting players must have.

OP:Do you set aside specific times each...?
Single, yes, curious but it was more organized before, now everything depends on the state of mind and time.

So, single, without commitments of life, family, work, etc.  It didn't matter how I felt, I fulfilled my sections, yes, I always established times per section.

I use software that keeps all my game statistics, they do everything, they are my coaching, that's still the same today, although as I mentioned, I don't play like before.

It with poker, with traditional casino games I don't use any particular app, just a win and loss column, Smiley

Sports betting is the best thing to do on my cell phone when there is nothing else to do

OP:Music?  Yes, before when I was single.

Nowadays I play watching a movie, listen to music and even check the smartphone.

It's hard to determine for yourself whether or not you're addicted. I also thought one of the most effective thing to do to monitor yourself is to watch over yourself on your gambling habits or your gambling pattern. I can you're just a casual gambler if you only gamble on weekends, especially when you want to relaxed from a stressful work, and also if you can manage to set aside a certain amount to lose in gambling. Winning does not usually matter as long as your enjoying the gambling experience. Visiting your favorite sports bar and placing bets with your favorite team twice or thrice every week, I still fine for me. Being a regular gambler IMO means closer to gambling addiction to me.

Yes, regular gambling leads to addiction and becomes difficult to control therefore, if you do not play regularly and see the gambling pattern, if you play occasionally for entertainment, the risk will be low and it will not become a habit. Of gambling addicts, it can be seen that their ratio of excitement after winning something is higher than that of normal people. They become more excited with small gains and are motivated to bet more again I am not very addicted to gambling and sometimes I see patterns.

And it is not like this is an arduous task or anything, almost every single person in the civilized world now carries a phone or a smartphone with them, and one of the most basic tasks you can do is to set an alarm to notify you about something you may want to remember.

So you could set the alarm of your clock one hour from the moment you start gambling, and once you hear it then you stop gambling immediately, if you can do this consistently not only you will limit the time and money invested in gambling, but you will develop self-discipline and any chances of becoming addicted to gambling will drop considerably.
What you say is true because by carrying a phone, we can arrange the schedule we must do every day. It also makes it easier for us to remember what we can do after doing one activity. And by making a gambling schedule, we might be able to play gambling regularly and stop at the right time so we don't cross the line.

And with that schedule, we can practice discipline so that it will be useful for us and will not cross the line. Limits can prevent us from playing excessive gambling and we will stay on the right track.

No, I don't set time or day when I gamble, playing like roulette or slots is very difficult obviously when we do sports betting. For sports there are certain timezone that you need to follow just to be able to bet like on Tennis or Basketball or Boxing.

But for games like slot or roulette, I just play when I feel like to. Maybe when I got board then I just go to my phone and deposit and play.

As far as capital goes, no need to do excel spreadsheet, I never met a gambler in my life that tracks everything.

For not I prefer to play online, doesn't matter if I have music in the background or even talking to my wife when I play. But I do mute or lower the volume of my mobile phone when I play because of the obvious noise.

Good game pattern for slots play I think I'm a bit similar to you, because I only play slots to de-stress and have a good time, in slots I don't try to win, but to have fun, if winning is more money to keep playing, but whenever i play slots it's to relax.

Now for game stuff like dice I have a lot of play patterns, I like to play doing 2x, 3x, 5x and 7x, and yes I have a certain play pattern for that. I only do it once and for this I only spend a little time, not much, because I have determined that when I play a lot my probability of losing is very high.

Now as far as time is concerned, I like to do it at any time, but yes, when I'm in a good mood I have no worries, because I like to enjoy it.

A long time ago I tried to play with a bad temper and nothing, what I did was lose and lose, both in slots and in dice and in both cases I lost and I didn't see how I could win , so this experiment is something that made me learn I shouldn't play in a bad mood.

Now I know that there are many people who have enormous faith to play slots and to get money from there, there are great players who do many things to win and get those macro-profits and I really admire them, but the truth is here when it comes to slots is because those who win in ghrande also lose big, that is what we must Also Observe.

It's most likely the case 90% of the time for gamblers, when we say that we are going to quit then suddenly we go and play for more and then continue our losing streak. So it's very important that we should get ourselves and control our gambling otherwise we are going to fell on the gambling addiction category and that is going to be worst for us.

So maybe we can have schedule to play and when we lose then we live another day and not continue with our gambling.

That is the strategy for me right, specially when I go to traditional base casino, just bring enough money and that's it.
It's better to make a gambling schedule and always be within limits so that we don't get addicted to gambling and can avoid big losses. I agree to have a gambling schedule so we don't get off track and can manage our gambling. And as long as we don't lose self-control in gambling, we will be fine and be able to enjoy gambling. That is the goal we must pay attention to in gambling to anticipate gambling addiction which can be bad for us.

This is one of the unique examples I have seen that you use the mobile clock to indicate you to stop the gambling 😀

The gamblers should be sensible enough to know when to stop because sometimes you are in the middle of a game and you could not stop and their could be many other circumstances. I will rather say that a gambler should make up their mind to have certain amount of profit or loss and when they got that profit or suffered some predefined loss, they should quit the gambling.

Putting some limits will not hurt anyone, especially in the gambling industry which is mostly addictive for many players. My opinion can be simply elaborated with few lines, just don't pay attention to the patterns and change the game style to avoid getting caught by casino AI. It is not something that can be proven but surely many gamblers can talk about the weird feeling after losing big. Something goes wrong and you keep increasing the bet size to recover as fast as possible which never happens for obvious reasons. That bad feeling when you are winning can be controlled with mastering yourself and teaching your body or mind the succesfully mindset. Patterns will not give gamblers any advantage btw.
Well, less is more as they say so yeah it does not hurt but it was only beneficial to us most especially if done here in gambling. When we say pattern, it does not literally mean the things that we do when betting but it can also mean like a lifestyle of a gambler like what the OP is talking about. It sometimes better to have a fixed pattern so that we can do things right away.

We won't be confused anymore or waste time. Some says it's bad to do when betting because the casino is like monitoring our moves but there are no real evidence to back this statement. I still believe that casino doesn't control anything and everything works in random as long as it's legit of course.
