I think that no method will help if fate is destined to die. You just have to put up with it and not think about the war. It will calm your nerves.

If you are scare you can move to live in some wild island, you will be safe.
Pray and store food with long shelf life, like rice, flour, salt, canned beans, etc

Best thing to do is start to build a underground bunker in the back yard to protect from nuclear disasters
