Well I experienced the same with my SegWit address. Seems like you cannot verify messages signed with SegWit online, you can do in only in your wallet.
Found this discussion on the subject >
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/about-possibility-to-sign-messages-in-segwit-address-in-future-2885058

Well, it is a known issue and afaik, electrum is the only one permitting to sign it. However, the previous message is not signed with a segwit address. I think The-Real-L1nk should avoid extra space / return to line..

Sorry sir.

Do I need to do it again?
so sorry my mistake for date
Is my account now safe?

Thank you
Your signed message was verified, you don't need to repeat this procedure again.
But you should know that signed message from staked address doesn't guarantee safety of your account. It only will help to recover your account in case if it will be hacked. You need to use unique strong password, avoid phishing websites and malware to ensure safety of your account.

I cant verify my address because I don't hold my private keys, I used coins.ph as an address that's why I cant provide a signature as well as signing a message, I do stake my BTC address at tomacage post.
I don't know if it's a general observation or just my ignorance, I can't sign a message from a wallet app from Android playstore. Does it mean it is not possible with an app except we go through the web page?
I suggest both of you making new bitcoin address.
Use the best wallet as well, the recommended wallet you can see at miss Lauda thread at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/general-bitcoin-wallets-which-what-why-1631151

I also suggest that you check the OP for all the wallets that do and do not support signing a message.

i my full member account hacked.i locked up it and i want to unlock it. i have a posted btc address. its bittrex address. can i make a signature from that bittrex address?

Sorry to say, but NO, you can't use Bittrex address to sign a message because you don't have access to the private key of addresses belonging to exchanges.
You should have already stacked your address here : Stake your Bitcoin address here because if you did so earlier, you would have realised this and used some other address.
Without proof forum administrators won't be able to help you.

This tutorial is one of the best written and updated tutorials in Bitcointalk and should be taken as an example for future tutors. I had some problems with the sign and verify using Blockchain.info wallet an this is how I found this thread. This all awarded merits are not wasted for sure and OP deserved even more. Keep up with posting such good tutorials OP because this is the real value of this forum.

Hi, I am new here, I mean I am new to everything, don't know why I'm here... Might sound really stupid, but I read the post, I understood the need to sign a message, I understood the examples given (Still don't know why I am here, doesn't have anything to do with the reply, just stating the fact that....). My question is can I be here and have no idea of what the entire bitcointalk forum or what bitcoin really is? Can I understand it here or do I have to figure that out myself? Is there some grand post hidden that helps complete newbies? I mean complete newbies without the knowledge of bitcoin, but would like to be part of it? I don't even know if anyone would understand this...   Undecided

Isn't it obvious that you are interested that's why you are here. Just like at school, we go to class everyday without knowing what would be the topic but we understand every small information being given because we want to learn. Same here! And also you understand what is written in the post because it can easily be understood and it is in the form of pictures.

Since someone already posted the the link of the right board for newbies above I still like to add one thing. It is not enough saying only, you understand what was written! Also try to sign a message...  Wink

Hello shorena,
I translated your thread to Indonesian language, here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.31915126
This thread very helpful to newbie.
Btw, I suggest you! create how to get private key on blockchain.info
as pandukelana2712 explained

Luckily for me, I found this thread in my local board: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cara-mengetahui-private-key-di-wallet-blockchaininfo-2107937, this thread give a simple tutorial on how to find a private key of blockchain.info wallet address.
Firstly, I make a backup of blockchain.info wallet using wallet recovery phrase, then I write 12-16 "magic word" at notepad.
Two, I download this tools: https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39, then I went offline.
I run this tools in offline mode, I fill my 12-16 "magic word" to BIP39 Mnemonic form, and I get result privkey instantly.
Video mode: https://youtu.be/xwksiStDZD4 (with Indonesian subtitle)

After I have my private key, I follow this step https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18991565

And yes, I can export the priv.key to electrum 3.0.6 too, and both of them have same result signature.

EDIT: at step 5, remove "colour address" and fill it with priv.key
Its works for me and some user at my local sub

Big thanks for this thread, shorena.
I'll translate this thread in my local sub if you dont mind and give me permission for this
And I'll big mark Dos and Dont for warning, then put additon from JeremyB's and me.
