Rather than stopping ICO which means stopping new innovations, why dont we start think about how to control it instead?
In this new developing market, there are plenty ways to make money and a lot more ways to be scammed and deceived as well. Apparently this is the weakness of decentralized community, there is no authority or whatsoever to keep everything in place. Just eat or get eaten. I hope there will be time where this wild jungle is going to be tamed for good

ICOs are not a waste of time, they are trying to offer new tech, or new innovation to our society. Obviously not all ICOs have the same concept, and they simply want to scam you, but you need to be careful.
I don't think there is a way to stop ICOs from popping out every day as it is like an idea that comes into mind every time and you dwell on it so much and ask people to buy your idea until it becomes a realization or until it becomes the next big thing in the world of altcoins. ICOs for me represents possibilities as long as it is well regulated and not a scam to cheat people off their cryptos.
You never know when the next bitcoin or ethereum will appear in the market if you stop ICOs just like that. I agree with what most have said that, at the end of the day, it's really up to you whether you would invest in an ICO project or not so it's too early for me to dismiss them just yet because again, your ICOnmight turn out to be the next big thing in the cryptocurrency world.

I dont know how to stop ICO, ICO is really great for all of the people here in cryptoworld because if we can participate on great ico i am really sure that we can have a great future, because joining or participating a great ico can totally help us to have alot of money or profit so for me ico will run for many years.

ICO's wont stop growing and appearing anytime soon because cryptocurrency is one of the best way of earning money besides working or having a active job. People who create ICO's of their own have the knowledge and is will to risk everything and put on everything they got into that project to become successful that's why many ICO's are popping out anywhere because they are willing to try to be one of those who success in cryptocurrency. As long as they have investors who supports them, they won't stop growing.

While I do not like regulations, there is no doubt in my mind we need to regulate icos to a certain extent, but governments seems to only be interested in regulating icos to charge taxes and nothing more, while they should do a lot more to protect people from falling in scams.

For now, the ICO market really needs some regulation, otherwise it's too messy, and many ICO projects are fraudulent.

i dont think we should stop the ico and its true many new ico coming and gone. but if you think investing in ico is not profitable for you. you just have to not invest on any ico. the truth why many people still investing on it is cause its profitable and good for investment.
I think you can't stop people from making ICO for real. The only thing you can do is just spotting a scam ICO and stay away from it.
It seems to me that the statement of the question is incorrect. Why stop ICO when you need to stop the scam. And they are developing this. Any innovations are subject to time verification. And this time is needed to regulate all those issues that inevitably arise in the process of becoming. So we'll see how it will be solved. Most likely the government somehow will enter into this topic. Once the question of taxes has appeared, there must be guarantees. Although here we lose the main advantage of the unit goal - decentralization.
ICOs can't be stopped unless everyone just decides not to participate in them anymore. I highly doubt that will happen since some end up being very profitable.
ICO will still goes on and goes and because the different ideas that people have is enough to create those. as long as this negotiation exist. ICO will still goes on. even though there are lots of failure ICO.
in my opinion there will be no one could stop the ICO because ico is one of the infrastructures or bridge for investors who put some capital or money on a project that could be worth a thought to manifest in an effort done but if his work is worth a success then the ico will succeed with success but if not otherwise.

That's fact but I believe how ICO survive is not our problem, we only need catch opportunity make profit and leave it before too late. Become scam ( no value ) and stagnant is our risk and that's why stop loss and money management needed. ICO make crypto world more interesting, learn it and find the right moment to get profit & leave. See you next time.

Many ICO's struggles to get a momentum like SunContracts, a good project I watch for some time but not big enough to gain that traction it needs.
Killing ICO is simple if there are too many projects and no one interested to participated weak medium ones will die.
Failure can have any ICO without working prototype (beta version of working software) or bad marketing / introduce blockchain to a less popular category like BitJobs (STU) has everything to succeed but lacking hype/popularity.
