My journey started on Sep 21, from Boston to NYC, flight to Egypt then Turkey, back to Boston! Carrying $100 just in case and 3 bitcoins in my wallet!

Fuck If I will ever carry credit card, or cash any more:

1- I used Localbitcoins for cash! Search for best local currency rate!
2- How much I save from credit card fees and Fiat exchanges: $305.
3- Is it save to deal with Localbitcoins in person overseas? Yes, so amazing nice guys, you are making friends Smiley

You should try it! & $100 stayed with me! and I spent less than 1.9 btc in both countries!!!

Really admire someone who is currently enjoying their hard work and continue to enjoy because they still have btc to invest.

Hoping to experience the same life you have now. Good job.

Congratulations and I'll take this as an inspiration, I'm planning to travel with my partner too next year and we both are planning to use Bitcoin and just a little amount of cash in case of emergency but still planning where to travel. We kind of made a plan to travel just somewhere in Asia and hopefully there'd be restaurants who would accept bitcoin as payment.
I recomend Bali is great. Bali is the land of Bitcoin. The biggest exchanger of indonesian bitcoin is located in Bali bitcoin.co.id . There are many hotels and restaurants accept bitcoin. Even small stores of merchandise in Bali accept bitcoin payment. YOu can buy flight from your country with bitcoin.

That was an awesome travel to have to, if only I have that amount of bitcoin I could really love to travel in some countries also. I agree that you choose localbitcoins.com they really have some good rate when it comes to local currency exchange. Right now I know even you just have bitcoins and a little amount of money in your pocket that is a lot that you can survive for a long journey.

That is really great to hear mate...i am planning this kind of trip ( with other destinations) for a long time now..maybe next year
Yes almost everyone of us want to try it. If I had already saved enough maybe I will also have the time to travel just like he did. I'm not sure of next year but as soon as I have the time and money I will make my dream come true and enjoy it.
Yeah, we all will like to try it not only for the adventure but because that will mean that we are so well off economically that we can afford such a trip, at this moment I do not have the funds to even travel within my own country but I will do my best effort to keep getting as much bitcoin as I can.

This might be a little step for our community , yet a big step for the wold !
Being able to travel around the globe only carrying small amounts of cash thus not fearing danger that can be caused from it , and just having to use localbitcoins in a very easy , secured and cheaper way ! Let's hope that in a few years this will be the travelling model of all people across the world .

from your story i have an idea to make a travel agent that will make a traveling package to country that accept bitcoin, so people just bring their bitcoin and traveling
That the wonderful kind of idea travel agency that accept bitcoin, believe me the one who will take initiative to this sort of business more likely he will progress in days and his company will be known as multinational and also attracts international users to it so take initiative and earn as much as you can and they earn profit, set a trend get the followers the will do same.

The good thing about here was, the maximization of bitcoins truly support him in terms of answering his financial expenses. Almost some countries now are beginning to accept bitcoin as a medium of payment for their services. Your trip is a living example on how an individual can survive and sustain himself when using only bitcoins, and it also saved you from converting it to btc-fiat due to the acceptance of these retailers. Maybe this would encourage some retailers from other countries as well to start accepting bitcoin as payment in order to spread its influence more.

But the amazing thing would be when you don't have to use localbitcoins for all your payments, uses and bills.
Gotta ask, how many vendors throughout your journey actually accepted bitcoin? Any tickets, bookings, restaurants or anything?
You gave new idea to the bitcoin users so that they have no worries to travel across the world putting aside all the worries and all this is just because of blessing of bitcoin, I suggest that traveling companies must accept bitcoins as travel expenses so that they can also expand their business worldwide and this will be also a ease to the user.
That's good to know about your experience though. Could you give more details and specific booking you got from your travels? It's really interesting because I also love to travel but I don't know how to do it first. I mean the things to prepare first and how it goes. I live in Asia but until now I haven't travelled from far places or countries. Since then i keep on hoping that someday I can travel even just one time before I die. I want to live longer so I can travel many places but that only permits my life until when.

We need more stories like this. A lot of posts on this forum are about holding bitcoins or trading to get more profit. This thread shows that Bitcoin being used in its intended purpose. Once people start to realize that Bitcoin will replace credit cards and other services, that is when Bitcoin will catch on and go mainstream.

I really think this is great. However, it's a little difficult to travel anywhere without cash, because not all countries and retailers honor bitcoin for payment. You're lucky you were able to find ways to use your bitcoin for travelling. This sounds like a great idea! I hope someday I can do this.

Wow that is great. By travelling 2 cities with 3 bitcoins and only $100 WOW. This is the new revolution or the new era of cryptocurrency. We can go out now without any fiat money! Hooray for BTC>
This is going to get a lot more common in the future, I think we are going to see a lot more of this kind of travels, I will not be surprised if a daring individual tried the challenge of traveling all around the world using bitcoin only, that will be an amazing journey that I will be very interested in reading if someone tried that.

Congratulations on your trip. But in reality isn't it possible that you probably just got lucky that someone wanted to buy your bitcoin at the time you needed it? Or another possibility is that you posted your selling price too low not to be ignored by someone to buy?

Is this story legit? I mean if you just landed at an airport im assuming you need to get a taxi to a restaurant or somewhere right? Or did someone coincidentally want to buy bitcoin at an airport? Lol. You said you still have the $100 intact and i don't see how when you said you traded with people in restaurants.

What if nobody was buying bitcoin when you landed at the airport? Would you wait for days until someone contacts you for a trade?

1- Please do read before you say stupid things.
2- Its all about research and planning, it was bold adventure, i  had cash as backup and didn't use.
