With 12 BTC you can buy altcoins to make your money doubled or maybe more. Because with that amount you can easily get big profit by buying or investing on Altcoins but it depends on Altcoin you investing in it must be good coin like Ethereum, Cardano, and also NEO.

i Think you must hold 8 or 10 BTC and the reamainign Bitcoins you can invest it to other promising coins, like Ether , or NEO. There are also some good ICO that will be launched, take a look at Envion seems really interesting. but anyway holding 8 or 10 BTC for a 1 year or 2 year period will minimallyy double or triple your money.

what would I do if I were you:

- 50% of BTC to hold
- 20% to altcoins from top-10 (choose any with a strong team and idea that you like)
- 20% to ICO (choose any with a good rating)
- 10% to risky investments (mining shitcoins, trading, BitConnect so on)

12 Bitcoins is a huge amount, last thing I would do is to leave my job Cheesy

I suggest that some of the bitcoin you have invested in altcoin and ICO, to get a lot of profit, and the rest of the bitcoin in the hold just until the price increases again.

12 bitcoin is a lot! I wish I had 12 bitcoins. If you dont know what to do you can just give them to me and I will buy some nice cars with it! To be serious you should just hold it or sell.

Where did OP go? I'd love to hear his conclusion and what he did with the 12 bitcoins he had. This might be a thread we come back to read on the future depending on his results and Bitcoin's growth. Hopefully he won't forget to come back and tell his story Tongue

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

I personally don't think that you can start your own ICO with 12bitcoins, thinking of it, its too little for all the marketing purposes starting banner ads to signatures. I think the best to do now is to hold since bitcoin is currently skyrocketing significantly, and you might after some few years make some more profit, then you can consider starting your own project.

If you have 12 Bitcoins, you should try to invest a single Bitcoin in Ethereum to make a few dollars on it.

I say invest maybe half a coin in alts/icos of your choice. Spread the rest in different wallets and let it grow because the price will just increase as time goes on.

I think you should divide them. You can continue hodl 8 or 10 BTC. With the rest, you should find an good ICOs to invest. Spectre is my advice for you

I think you can put about 1 btc in Amor (amorcoin.org)? They are having their crowdsale now and they even have a 20% bonus offer for a limited time!

Surely here you did every work in the bitcoin to make money that why you turned 0.01btc+1000$ into 12 btc otherwise it will not possible .
Now if I will be at your place then surely I will use this money in two fields separately , half of the bitcoin I will sell for the fiat and will have bank money and will use that amount for the practical life business like having big shop or big services like having a petrol pump .
And half of to will use for the online services in the cryptocurrency or will use for the trading and investment again with this amount because if you can turn 0.01 btc +1000$ into 12 btc then why not you can change again that amount of bitcoin into another big amount .
Here will say best of luck for with you 12 btc , and I hope you will use it for the perfect work and progress .

I would suggest hold 50% of the coins and rest of them either you can sell to fiat or convert them to ETH or any other altcoins which are in their early stages. Even that would give u good benefits in terms of money and no of coins will also crease gradually. So its all upto you but still i would suggest sell the bitcoins not completely but partially and rest of them you have to take a call with the options given above.

Trade with them til the next fork arrives, by the next fork you may end up with 18 coins + theyr mirrors.
Simple maths and you could earn more than 80K.
