Is it true that ..?? . If that is true then you have a very good advantage and it can make you rich! . But before taking it all get I know where did you get your Wallet.?? Because I'm not sure if you get it in an easy way! . From experience I know, all of which have a number of wallets are above 1 BTC definitely has a pretty elaborate security and confidential. I think that you cannot use these funds, because I see that you are logged in the blockchain and using the demo account. If true then it's just a sweetener only friends

It was a private key, i found it in a forum.
Not in the darknet, in the clear Internet.

Best Regards!

So, it depends on yourself dude. But the new car already waited for you. Just take them if there is no someone else try to claim such amount of btc. That's worth for $42.000 and good amount for everyone in here.  Grin
It's yours now but since you do not make an effort to have that amount, it would be very nice to shower your blessings here or to the people who really need money, FYI I'm one of them, so you can include me. lol.... Seriously, that money is yours now but do not just spend it but rather do consider using it for another investment by transferring to another wallet and hold it longer, the price now is increasing, you'll have great rewards the longer you hold.
If he gives anything away, he should avoid giving to moron beggars - so that leaves you out.  Giving to moron beggars promotes some of the worst behavior in bitcoin community.

Oh I am green with envy... I think the possibility of such luck is very small.

I am aware that at least a few enthusiasts have already scanned through and imported all private keys that have been published on forums into their wallet.dat. Every time a deposit is made, the fund will be automatically transferred out to their addresses... One of them will get the coin, depending on the speed and fee...

Please consider donating to projects who supports the community, they really deserve this, and without them, bitcoin is nothing, and you wouldn't be able to exchange, trade, play, gamble ...
I wouldn't exactly say that donations are pillar of any community. Especially cryptocurrency community.
It doesn't' work like that, any form of donation is an optional goodwill manifestation and shouldn't be viewed as compulsory payment.
There is always that feeling of uncertainty when you have no idea how your donation is gonna be used. I don't like that.

It is hard to believe that someone posted private bitcoin keys on some forum and they lied there untouched since 2011.

How can you be so lucky? Or you just say a story? Actually people can't be so silly to post private key to let you get today, hackers should get it in 2013.

Hi,
i have found a wallet with 40 BTC.
The last transaction was 2011.
Can i take the money?
Or is it not legal?
Please Help!

Best Regards!

You found the keys to a car. Can you take the car? Is it legal?

Don't be an idiot.  The money is yours.  It is not illegal to transfer bitcoin if you have the key to do it.  Having the key means it is your bitcoin.  Take it and transfer it to another address before another key holder does that.

Not really, what i would do is to donate 39 BTC to people who needs it. Like donating to projects everyone use, but no one donates to, like UNOMP, BCOIN, and many others. I would keep 1 BTC as a reward for fair distributing the funds.
But the question is, how did you found a private key in a forum, with 40BTC in the wallet ? normally as it is existing since 2011, it should have been aleready emptied.

it is still illegal. who knows that one day, the owner want to take his bitcoins, but he finds it nothing. I just suggest you to look for the owner and ask for permission, or people who knows him. because there is also the other possibility why he doesn't take the coins, that is death. however, taking the other's stuff without permission is illegal.

I am agree that taking someone money without permission is illegal, even though is the owner mistakes that he/she put the private key not in the proper place, but if you took it then it is illegal, and to find the owner is a bit difficult because all the identity is hidden, but still I won't take the money even though it is very tempting

Man what makes you think that you can ever get that 40 bitcoins? And what's the matter whether the transaction came from 2011, the important thing is that 40 bitcoin is legit on that wallet. Don't be stupid that you can get something that you don't own.

Such a funny drama. Today you said you've found 40 BTC probably tomorrow you will say you've found 100 BTC for the sake of getting attention due to lack of attention I guess Roll Eyes, whether you're lying or not, who knows?
but 1 thing that I'm very sure of it, your post is a damn bullshit, LOL.
Have fun with your http://directory.io, just waiting for people here murmuring and say "he played us like a damn fiddle" LOL

I was in the forum where you were, and I also found a private key that contains 150BTC, last transaction dated 2010, I wanted to post here but as you just done it, I will just see the reaction Of poeple before reacting.
Had found private key that contains 150 BTC but have defaulted loan?  Roll Eyes.

Wait so you've just found it out on the open? in the forum? hm... Well I don't think it would be illegal since you've found it, but it would be morally right to either return all 40btc or keep them if you don't see anything wrong. But that's someones wallet who gave up on btc back in 2011, so if I were you I'd keep it. :p

Found is different with steal. Found is legal, and steal is ilegal. It is same like you found a money in the street that wrapped by paper and there is nothing information like identity card to call. Then it's yours, and you free to do anything with that.
But I wonder is it a true story or just a dream. Because you know, bitcoin wallet is not same like mainstream money (paper money) wallet that you can open with just your pinkie. Bitcoin wallet always made safe and of course, with the password/pin to safe it.

legal?,  or ethical?, . I would transfer it to another secure address of your own and then try to find the owner, .. shouldn't be hard to do, . (ethical thing to do) .if you cant find the owner, just hang onto it in your own account for a few years and then if no one is looking for it, . .its yours, . . just like finding money on the street.

Assuming that I believe that you have found a 40btc . Yes you can just take it . Why? The private key symbolizes ownership so if you have the key it means that you're the owner . As you have said the last transaction was on 2011 so its probably from an early adopter who gives up on bitcoin .

But what you have said just now is too unrealistic, First is you have no proof . Second your a newbie whos probably just trolling . Third is you did not state how you got the private key .

First I do not believe that you have actually found the priv key and are only trolling.
Second,This is a debatable issue as there is no law regarding this. If you have conscience donate them as leaving would not be the best option.

Oh well let us think as it is, no need to believe or not, it will not benefit us anyway Smiley.  If you found the priv key, its yours, now brag it here and sign that address that have that 40 BTC (well of course after moving the funds out).  I will be the first one to be happy for your fortune Smiley
