Good Morning,
in the forum post are a lot of private keys (i think so 10000 pieces).
the forum post is from January 2017, i have taken me one pk from the middle of the list.
And it worked,
i have now the money, and i donate 75% of this.
Thank you for your replies.

Best Regards!

EDIT: I donate 50% , i take me 25% and i will give the owner 25% back!

I call bs.

You're looking at a forum post with a 10000 or so addresses that were probably just generated for fun. You managed to luckily hit one and get 40 bitcoin, which in itself is literally one in a million in a million in a million. You then proceed to say that you'll send the money back to the owner, and anyone can tell that you don't know who the owner is.

If that private acces key is posted in one forum around the net then its legal totally.NO one can complain if he posted here private key in a forum and somebody went over through it and stole it he posted it unless the key was stolen and posted by someone else thats what you called illegal already. But since it was posted i think it is legal
though I really doubt that he is talking about it for real, I mean if someone left the private key on the forum to be accessable for everyone he would not have found it because someone would have already taken in 6 years

If this is true, it will be the most outstanding scene in the Bitcoin world. However, I doubt that it can happen because it is hard for someone to forget about his private keys for 6 years
I think you should split them into two parts. The first one you should donate to some charity organization. You can use the second one for yourself but remember to use it wisely

This is just a made up story, though it let me read through the posts, somehow it is entertaining.  I like Glebs post LOL, gave me a tons of laugh.  Anyway just for the sake of OP's question, it is yours.  You have the key, you can access it, the package is all yours, that is Bitcoin rule, who ever have access to the address, is the owner of the Bitcoin on that address.

Hi,
i have found a wallet with 40 BTC.
The last transaction was 2011.
Can i take the money?
Or is it not legal?
Please Help!

Best Regards!

You found the keys to a car. Can you take the car? Is it legal?

Don't be an idiot.  The money is yours.  It is not illegal to transfer bitcoin if you have the key to do it.  Having the key means it is your bitcoin.  Take it and transfer it to another address before another key holder does that.

Not really, what i would do is to donate 39 BTC to people who needs it. Like donating to projects everyone use, but no one donates to, like UNOMP, BCOIN, and many others. I would keep 1 BTC as a reward for fair distributing the funds.
But the question is, how did you found a private key in a forum, with 40BTC in the wallet ? normally as it is existing since 2011, it should have been aleready emptied.

You can't even attempt to say that if you have the opportunity to make $40,000 USD you'd just go ahead and donate $39,000 to people because you're such a wonderful person. That's just something us humans would never do, and with such a high amount of money it means that I would really never go ahead and do such a thing.

I love donating money to good causes as much as the next guy, but not that high of an amount bud, that's just you attempting to crave for attention.

reading this thread makes me further lose my faith in humanity

most of you are complete trash, parasitic pieces of shit. i can't believe anybody could pretend using the key OP "found" is OK. if you agree with that, i really suggest you kill yourself tonight. jump from a high place. it's not complicated. just end your worthless life and leave the world behind

I really don't know if this is the right place for this question. If not, please someone should kindly redirect me...

How do i log into my btc address again on blockchain. I haven't been able to do that since yesterday and I didnt change my password. What could be wrong. I always get the confirm from the email with each attempt I make.

What is the error you are getting, if you are getting error as password incorrect then it means one you have forgotten the password or your computer got hacked and all your passwords are changed, kindly go through forgotten password procedure and if you are not receiving the email for new password then just think that you got hacked and no more you are having hold of your blockchain address.

I always get this message:  Please check your email to approve this login attempt.

I have made several attempts totalling over 20 since yesterday from my email. Very frustrating

Please I need help on this from senior members of this forum. Your advice and direction will definitely help
Well, just check the log-in confirmation on the email that have being used on that blockchain wallet account because its really normal for blockchain to request log-in attempt specially into a new ip address or browser. If you dont have that email address then that wallet isnt yours at all.
Back to topic. this is just a troll post since theres no picture regarding on that wallet which contains the 40 btc.

I do get the log in attempt confirmation mail in my inbox each time I try logging into block chain. But all that has still enabled me to log into my btc wallet
what you mean you can still log in on btc wallet? If you dont have access on your account because of that log-in attempt? Quiet confusing here mate Smiley
@topic as i mentioned before this is just a troll post since even on my dreams i wont find any wallet that contains many btc. hehe

I mean I get the log in attempt sent to me through my email. If I try following the link from my inbox, it still doesn't open my wallet. It keeps referring me ro my email

You can take the money, if, you can fight your conscience, because taking all that 40 bitcoin and transferring it all on your bitcoin wallet is really not a good idea. I know that we needed money but taking it just like that is really not necessary because 40 bitcoin is not that easy to earn, it will take some time for a person to earn it, so, if you want money, PM whoever the owner of that bitcoin wallet, and tell him that you just found his bitcoin wallet address, and in return, because of your good deeds, who know he might give you 2 bitcoin. Smiley

How did you found it ? Using the block explorer, or on a hard drive ? If it is on a hard drive, yes you can take it, lukcy you ! If it is on a block explorer, you can not, since you do not own the private keys.

I don't understand why you will need the private key, OP said that he found a bitcoin wallet with 40 BTC, so obviously, he already been inside that wallet and saw the amount on it, also, he can do whatever he wants on it. He will be just going to need the private key, if, he just have heard to someone that, that bitcoin wallet do have 40 bitcoin, so, if he wants to hack that bitcoin wallet, private key is needed.

This guy is just trolling. The address has been asked multiple times already and he keeps on avoiding it. Maybe Betwrong is right, OP will post a malicious link soon.

If it was true, you wouldn't be here posting "hey i found a wallet with 40 btc, is it legall to take it? " Come on man, who  would join a forum to say such thing. If I found a wallet with full access, I first take the 40 btc and I wouldn't post this story online, I would just enjoy the free money. Also, are there stupid people to post their keys somewhere on the web ? It's worrying

I guess the OP has found the address which have 40 BTC and have the last transaction from 2011 and which tells us that the address was not used again since 2k11 and the owner must be from early adopters and lost hi faith in Bitcoins in very early stage and he lost his password/key/wallet etc.
And this user has found the address and wants to transfer the bitcoins to his address without they private key.
OR if he found an address with priv key then he is going to rich :p

That's what I thought too while reading his post and replies. But now I think he's not so stupid, he's just lying like a rug IMO. If he just seeks attention that's okay, but if he's going to post malicious links afterwards he should be banned for doing that.

And I don't believe a word from this:

I almost believe the first part of what he claim though but donating 50% is something I can't  Grin

Once this dude gets his money, he'd realize there are lots of things to buy like a whole bunch of asic devices so he can mine himself after. He won't just let his btc be gone in the end after spending all that 25%.  He'd rather buy some more investments like that MLN or ICN. Later he'll see that he needs a huge place for his mining devices to work so he has to renovate his backyard to make room for them. 40btc is never enough.

People really don't care whether you will do something good out of it, you can even gamble on dice site with these 40 btc. Enjoy yourself. No one knew you anyway.
