I mean, it surely must get messy as hell after a longer period of time, especially with those useless tokens that are not listed even years after their creation. After a while you probably come to a point when you want to clean up your wallet and send those tokens to some random ETH address just to tidy up the space, or maybe not, some people are prone to hoarding I suppose.
Therefore, when you want to buy a new token, you have to pay attention to the concept being developed and as much as possible they have a prototype so that it can provide confidence for investors and traders who buy the token.

it doesn't matter as long as the token still has value, and moreover, you don't attach importance to it or consider it a necessity to get profit.
so it's okay to collect it even if some of the tokens are worthless later.
unless you buy a token and intend to profit from it, then you must research it first.

When I was a newcomer here in cryptocurrency, I always wanted to collect every coin that I see in the market because I assume the more coins I buy, the double the profit that I will get. But when I finally understand how the crypto market works, and not all coins will be able to give you profit. It is why I only bought coins that has a potential to grow and coins in the trend for me to earn profit.
Coins in the trend is not really a good choice to buy because they can be dumped at any time so just going with the moderate growth coins along with the total crypto market is better than sudden bump and dump coin.Anyway no one can make perfect decisions and everything can be learned from our previous mistakes.

I I believe the ultimate aim is to earn and have sufficient fiat to take care of one's bills. It would be out of place for one to have several valid tokens in the wallet and broke. One has to make provision for the needed fiat to keep one going. No doubt, some tokens could be set aside for investment purpose.

Do you have a preference for collecting tokens instead of selling them?
Currently in my wallet there are more than 200 tokens with different values and I do not sell them every time it is listed. I keep them and watch them every day. I was fascinated by the fact that there were many tokens in my wallet and not paying attention to their price.
Do you think this is a crazy hobby?
Everyone has their preferences and I can't judge right or wrong. For you, you want to look for a big dining opportunity, so you want to look for rare and special things. I used to be, but the strategy doesn't seem to be very effective. tokens usually die after 6 - 8 months and I realize I spent a lot of time and money on that investment. So now I work more meaningful, speculation and coin trends and that is better for my finances. You should also consider and change your strategy in the future.

Actually, I can’t understand Why would an intelligent person do such a thing! I think you are not aware about newly launched altcoin’s roadmap, most of the altcoins are live around one or two years, after reaching goal they are just collapse their market, So if anyone want to make profit by holding altcoins they should be hold worthy tokens and they should be sold within the stipulated time, Otherwise rest assured you will lose your capital.
Yes you can do that and yea they paid you with their tokens, but they didn't list their tokens/coins on any exchanges that means they didn't give you any chance to actually sell the rewards you have gotten so far. That is why most of the bounty participants have so many leftover altcoins there because they don't have a place to actually sell some.

LOL, you won't get anywhere mate!
I have done it since 2017 and collected more than 300 different tokens in my wallet but most of them are dead now, some of them never added to anywhere exchange, some of them have exited the scam , don't fall in love with them, and sell them when you are in profit!
well, coin collecting also needs to be selective. it's pretty good to have a lot of portfolios in the wallet, but if all the coins die, I think it's useless. after all, I also have 5 to 10 coins like that. to be honest I got it from bounties and airdrops, and until now I still keep it and hope one of these coins can have a big price. yeah, but I don't focus on things like that

There are 2 types of people here in cryptocurrency first is the long term holder this is the one who holds the potential coins in which He/she thinks that will give a good profit in the future. While the other one is they've just collecting coin without doing any research about it so in the end most of the coin they get doesn't have any value, time wasted.

There is nothing crazy about if its not a collection, but a long term investment.
I don't know if numismatists do their hobby because of potential profit one coin can grant them, but something tells me its not about profits at all.
If you're collecting digital coins just like numismatist - its up to you, I guess, but I can claim it sounds a bit strange.
I do not sell my tokens just like as you don't, but I do it purely for my profits and because I really believe in some projects I've invested in

You are really amazing in my opinion, by holding more than 200 tokens without selling them. Very few people do that,
indeed your hobby is strange, because it is different from the majority of people in general. But I don't think you're crazy,
even if it's Bitcoin managed to return to the all-time high price, some of the tokens you save the prices will go up. And big
chances are you become a millionaire, just do what you think is right, because everyone is free to do anything. As long as
it doesn't break the law, please expand your token collection. Grin

You're right, the best moments of new altcoins are only a year or two after their platform was up and running. there are moments when their prices are at their best. and we shouldn't miss that. holding on too long can make us miss the moment.

yeah that's crazy, really crazy. It's even crazier when you hold for a longer period then when you happen to see the price, it goes up many times and you get a big profit. I thought it would be crazy but it could give a chance to make a profit. because it's the same as investing in the tokens you collect.

I like to collect tokens but to sell them when they get a profit, not store them in a wallet. because I am a short and long term trader. It looks like you don't need money so your hobby is just buying it and leaving it in your wallet
