Your idea is good for holding altcoins but your idea of holding forever is a big mistake. You have to determine when you will sell it because the altcoin price will not go up forever

Sometime i think if you will need urgent money you will sell all you can to get money for urgent needs, even if your coins are low, but maybe you will never happen so situation or maybe you have enough money.

If the project dont have future development and developers team looks not active anymore, i am prefer sell it. Better loss than earn nothing. We can trade it with others altcoin and recover our losses. I think we should never attached with our coin or token

If the project is bad, you should understand that the price may not grow at all. If the project is not interesting or deceives investors over time, its price will only worsen. You must have a strict plan of what you will do when setting the price for your project or you can lose everything. Of course the price is sometimes revived, but this is a rare case.

You can take them to the cemetery. But what you'll gain out of that? IMO, no amount is small. Even if your coin has gone down by 99%, I would say that you can sell these coins and get the remaining 1% in your wallet. Why do you want to lose this small amount, by keeping them with you? In crypto, sometimes we need to take very tough decisions. But if you get emotional and refrain from taking such decisions, then ultimately you will end up losing money.
Of course, why sell the altcoins we have if we receive losses. It's better to keep it for a long time and just pray who knows that someday the price will increase to be expensive.The famous crypto currency is not stable because prices rise or fall very quickly, of course it gives a chance for coins that have fallen down to rise again. Only patience and confidence make the altcoin owner whose value goes down to survive.

Why would someone sell his or her alts for loss? I do not see an economic reason or benefit behind the decisions and a rational man will always quest to maximize the profits and not incur losses rather. One could rather take away profits when the market rises and bull is pretty set right we are having theses days though bull run is not yet full set. actually I don't want to sell it too, but because there are important needs, it is better to cut loss. if it's not like that, I will definitely follow your way with the hodl of all my altcoins. indeed sucks, seeing all the altcoins now prices go up.

Selling any of my altcoins at a loss, would be the last thought on my mind especially now that the crypto market is facing some buiish trend. I would rather prefer to use this opportunity and accumulate as much altcoin as i can before bullrun.

Of today, we are at loss means tomorrow or in near future we will be in profit. At this stage, we can consider the situation as an opportunity to accumulate more. Long term investment gives good profit for sure.

In this world of rapidly developing technology, there could be a situation that some projects may become outdated. So we have to be very careful and need to keep ourselves up to date on the current news and updates.
We have also to decide how long we can wait until the price rise? Or our investment could become zero.

I would also not sell my altcoins for such silly prices, because this is just the beginning my friends. Imagine if BTC has grown so fast within several weeks, what is going to happen till the end of 2019? Only the sky is the limit for crypto currencies.

Great idea but not also good calling people names because they decide to sell .
Is their personal decision and same as yours not to sell, every one has option their them selve and not someone business and also they can sell to rebuy and even have more token to what they have , so holding for 2years is good but also must have lost some benefit when to sell and buy again and why we have short , medium and long term investment , just choice from that and feel good to go.

As a trader, I sell altcoins when I'm in profit especially when I hit my target. As a crypto enthusiast, there are some altcoins (my special picks) that I'm holding for long term. Example include Eth, TRX, XLM, ZIL just to mention a few. Sometimes people sell not necessarily because they want to dump at loss, but maybe they've waited for long and there is no development for that project. For instance; I bought into a coin, I've been patient for long and it kept dumping, I was still holding since I liked their MVP. Then recently I dumped because the team announced an AMA, only for them to publish just an article on medium saying they can't disclose their identity, they have reasons to be anonymous, so I lost hope on the project.

Hummm I think this is a bad idea, if the altcoin you hold is going to stop working, do you think it will sell them or not. For me, I will sell it right away, because if only a minute delay will make me lose more
