He's a crucial player in the middle-lower order and Team India would like to get him back in form otherwise, things could get tricky in the WC as India has a long tail.

I guess, he needs to go back to basics with the bat, which he does successfully in the red ball cricket. He still has a few more games to get his mojo back, the sooner the better.

Just checked the weather for Colombo, it is mostly cloudy for today. Hopefully the final match won't be interrupted by rain as per the weather update. The team that bat first will actually enjoy the early bat friendly pitch which some how becomes spinner paradise as the match progresses. Expecting this match to be a close one otherwise it doesn't interest me if a team dominates the match.

Used to just watch IPL, but interest has rose again because world cup is coming. In between, Asia cup is fine entertainment, been only watching highlights tho, which is none less entertaining. After sticking to IPL since long, 50 overs seem uff at first, I know I'll be fine by world cup.

Indian team looks super, especially the batters. I only judge them from their IPL performances. Gill still phenomenal.


Resting players were the reason behind loss anyway. VK, Bumrah not playing is big deal. Also, when you have already qualified, you tend to lose bit motivation to play better, and opponents were also Bangladesh, I'm sorry but it's just the way it is . It's good captaincy on Rohit's part to give other players chance to prove themselves before WC.

Yes finally someone noticed Jadeja’s performance. Jadeja was backed because he is a good all rounder. But if you see the last 3 matches, then whenever the team needed him the most, he failed with the bat. He was the only senior player in the middle order for the team, to which all the Indians have hope against Bangladesh, but throwing wickets like that was very disappointing.
Nevertheless today India will go with his full squad and we will see a tough fight against Srilanka. I am predicting Rohit Sharma will surely make a century against his favourite team today.

Final match will start in less than 6 hours from now, but the weather forecast is looking very gloomy. And the organizers refused to change the match from Day-night to Day, despite the fact that there is a higher chance of rains by evening. They are just taking the fans and TV rights holders for granted, which will prove costly for them in the next cycle. Now coming back to the match, India will be feeling very confident about lifting the trophy. But then they should not underestimate Sri Lanka, with their quality spin attack and home advantage.

Bangladesh played very well yesterday's match, but even though they won the match at the last moment, they did not gain anything. They had to leave the Asia Cup. However, they beat India at the last moment and left the Asia Cup with some respect. At such a time India was not prepared to lose in any way. India lost some points by losing the match with Bangladesh. But India have really learned some lessons from this match so it seems that they will not enter the field without good preparation in the next matches

I was a bit surprised from the eleven that Bangladesh fielded against India in the first place because in that eleven against India, three of the main fast bowlers of Bangladesh were sitting on the bench and also experienced cricketers like Mushfiqur Rahim were not in the eleven, so after the toss, I thought maybe Indian. Bangladesh will be defeated by a big margin. The way Bangladesh started after losing the toss against India, I was sure that this innings of Bangladesh might not go far. Bangladesh lost four wickets for 59 runs from which it was a very tough tie to come back into the match but later Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy held the game firmly and the Tailender finished brilliantly at the end which saw Bangladesh get a great win against India.

India have few things to learn from yesterday defeat that they cant beat teams like Bangladesh without there main players like Kahuli and Bumrah. May be its time to give attention to performance of there reserve players.
India defiantly have upper hand in tomorrows final as compare to SL. But we cant rule out the fact that SL are also capable of giving surprise in tomorrows final. ODDs must be in favour of India for tomorrow final.

India beat the two best team Pakistan and Srilanka and lost the match from Bangladesh who has not win any match in the super four stage, this is something interesting and beauty of cricket. The reason for india losing this match was wickets falling. Shubman gill played a very good inining and he deserves to finish the match but out before finishing the match. Axar Patel also batted well . India was not looking in their own foam yesterday and lot of players was rested.

Final will be more interesting if rain not interept the match. Very good to see the Srilankan crowd. The full stadium is crowded of Srilanka fans to support their nation. India is looking favorite to win the final but Srilanka also has a good chance and they will be looking to retain the winner of Asia cup

It was again a thrilling match wherein Bangladesh was able to win against India. It has been a significant amount of years since Bangladesh was able to defeat the Indian team in an ODI match. It has been 16 years, the last time they beat India was in December of 2004 in Dhaka. Bangladesh after all was able to break the jinx of losing from India after yesterday. I wasn't surprised the reason being India was playing without its informed 5 players. Indian management I feel was overconfident that this new team would easily counter Bangladesh.

Chasing a target without star players has not been an Indian team specialty. Giving a debutant an upward batting order backfired. Not to mention going into bowling with only Axar and Jadeja did not work out. Axar has been struggling to get wickets whereas Jadeja has been struggling with his batting. As the match does not mean anything for the tournament it is better to take the bitter pill and relax.

Tomorrow we will be watching the final of this year's Asia Cup. I will come up with a comparison post on both the teams, the factors that can decide which team will win. The one thing I am sure about is the team that wins the toss and selects to bat has more percentage of winning the tournament.

Prasidh Krishna started shaky, bowled okay, and took a wicket. Tilak playing his first international match was tense and got out without scoring double-digit runs. That does not look good as it was not a pressure match, he should take some tips from Abdullah Shafique. SKY has not been at his best after the last T20 World Cup. He has a lot of potential but has lost his form or might have become overconfident with his unique shots.

These guys should be better on the bench than on the field in the World Cup. Once Jadeja starts playing in India he will get back his batting. Shardul Thakur leaks the most runs and I think he needs to work on it, getting 3 wickets at an economy of 6.5 is not admirable. Then again not being able to contribute through bat when needed most is not acceptable.

There was no win-or-lose equation in the Asia Cup Super Four match against India. Even in victory and defeat, there was no matter of profit or loss for Bangladesh. Only the two teams entered the match of regulation. However, the match between India and Bangladesh is now a battle of prestige. And in that fight, the red-greens snatched a thrilling victory. That's why Rohit Sharma was under the fire of Indian journalists. Many people say that five changes in the last match is one of the reasons for India's loss against Bangladesh. However, the Indian captain also gave an explanation behind this. According to Rohit, the main reason for such a decision is to prepare the team for the coming days. Rohit said, I wanted to give some time to those who have not played in this tournament so far. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the larger interests of the party. I want to prepare them for the future.  Many have the potential to play in the World Cup. I wanted to prepare them. But I didn't want to compromise on the quality of the game. On the other hand, the wicket of Colombo's Premadasa has always helped Bangladesh's bowlers. Due to which the strong Indian batting line-up was under a lot of pressure. Tanjid-Mustafiz's opener Shubman Gill was able to stop, but the rest were on the march. That is why the Indian captain praised Gill in the press conference.

Shakib Al Hassan is one of the best white ball all-rounder of current era even his contribution never helps his team for having important wins but still we can regard him as one of the best product of Bangladesh with his performance they were able to stop Indian aggressive team in this Asia Cup, and now they can feel much better with having not much success in this event, but we need better things from the BCB as well because here they are also completely fail to have enough success into their domestic system even they have few exciting cricketers, but they never won anything in this game which is matter of shame.

Now we have few days left into mega event ODI world Cup which is going to play in India, and we will have no good hopes, still few individual performances can bring good entertainment for the Bangladesh fans.

Overall many positives for India so far but if dig more then few concerns as well.

The obvious one would be bench strength, this didn't pan out last night. Sky, Tilak and Prasidh Krishna all looked cooked but India's major concern should be Jadeja with the bat. He's doing alright with the ball but not much with the bat, he surely needs some runs under his belt.

5 of the top Indian players were not available for the match and this impacted their prospects. But the outcome of the match was irrelevant, as India is already in the finals, and Bangladesh is out. The only benefit for Bangladesh is that their ODI ranking in the ICC table will get improved, as they have defeated India. For the selectors, now I hope there is more clarity. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav failed once again, while Tilak Varma also failed to make use of the opportunity given. Among the bowlers, Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna didn't did anything extra-ordinary that could get them back into the Indian team.

As bad as Bangladesh have been in this Asia Cup tournament so far, I hope all their sorrows and disappointments are washed away with a win against India. This match of Bangladesh against India is not only a victory, it is the emotion of crores of fans. After 11 long years, Bangladesh defeated India on the stage of the Asia Cup.

It was not easy for Bangladesh to win against a team like India with a target of 266 runs, but Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan deserves praise. The way he changed the bowling when needed and took responsibility was really to watch, the commentators were praising Shakib's captaincy time and again and at one point an Indian commentator said that Shakib is the best captain in this Asia Cup. If this team can play fearless cricket then it will do a lot of good in cricket.

Bangladesh was able to win because of excellent spin bowling. Kohli is not only the reason for Indian team  loss. There are multiple reason but most importantly Bangladesh won because India had rested most of their players for this match. Just imagine if Bhumrah & Kuldeep Yadav were playing yesterday would Bangladesh batters would have scored those runs. India only wanted to test those players who have been on the bench since the start of this tournament. Now the selectors and the team management are aware who to be called upon in case of an emergency in the World Cup.

Inda lost this match by 6 runs only Brilliant innings by Shubman Gill but Bangladesh proved to be too good for India. Without Virat Kohli it looked more like Bangladesh was stronger than India. Although It was a dead rubber pitch India won't mind but a morale booster for Bangladesh after a below par Asia Cup performance. Going into the World Cup it will give Bangladesh pretty much confidence. Congratulations Shakib ul Hasan and the Bangladesh team for this amazing victory. Bangladesh did what Pakistan couldn't win against India. Excellent death overs by Mustafizur Rehman & Tanzim Hasan made Bangladesh Successful after 4200 days to win an ODI in the Asia Cup.

At last, Bangladesh won in another close match. Good bowling by the Bangladesh bowlers unfortunately, Shubhman Gill's 121 runs could not help the Indian side. They started off very badly with Rohit getting out for a duck followed by the debutant Tilak Verma for just 5 runs. Bangladesh spinners utilized the pitch to keep a good check on the Indian batters. They expected This kind of performance when playing against Srilanka in the Super 4 match. Yesterday's win does not impact anything but will give them a morale boost for the World Cup.

It does not look good for Tilak Verma as he was out cheaply in a non-pressure match. There are too many contenders who are looking to get a chance to wear the Indian jersey and play for the country. The opportunity that he got is hard to come and if it does come he should not destroy it. I was expecting him to bat and score double-digit runs whereas he had other things in his mind.

Shakib Al Hasan played the biggest role in scoring runs for India to set a target of 266 runs. The importance of some bowling was not less especially after dismissing India's most reliable batsman Rohit Sharma for zero runs, Bangladesh's Tanzim Hasan Sakib also dismissed Tilak Burma for five runs. In the beginning, the Indian team lost two important wickets for 17 runs and was under pressure, but Shubman Gill (121) played an important innings of runs from that pressure, but India could not get their desired victory in the last minute. However, in yesterday's match, Bangladesh's batting and bowling played a role in winning Bangladesh because there was enough balancing.
