I know some people who use ICOs as a chance to get big gains. However, things have went wrong at times ie. Team disappearing or funds going missing. It's not free money for the consumer as they have to put in something, but I can see it being free money for the team who's creating the product. Like everything, just be sure to do your research.
Free money ? Well if any ICO would give me free money for sure , I would have invest in all of them , right ? I think it's up to you to decide wich ICO can be trusted and can bring you good profits. Myself I like CEDEX a lot.
I do not know why! I only think that Ico project is a more modern Ponzi method right now.

I think yes and no some great projects, started an ico and they turn out to be one of the top coin in the market, but I believe majority of the ico are scam project so you must check and do a research if you are participating in a fake project as an investor or promoters.
SOmetimes its a new way to get free money. Thats when theres an fake ico and the devs go away with the money. Happens a lot, so watch out for scam ICO's. Always read the white paper and analyse the project!

Not at all free money nor anything like that. There are very serious projects out there, it is just a question of taking some time to research into them and, frankly, have a little bit of common sense and experience. If some people just throw their bills at anything that moves is just their problem.
everyone of us are enjoying this opportunity that this forum had given us. Most of us are participating bounty campaigns and airdrop in order to get and earn tokens and even money. While there's an ICo there is money in it and the higher the rank then the higher of money we can get.
For this year there was a huge amount of ICO. Really good ones can be counted on the fingers. To find a really good project you have to be very scrupulous, diligent and lucky. 
I generally know only about a few really successful ICO projects. But participation in these projects gave a huge profit.

I do not like, that now there are many ICO-scammers. Because investors, who invest in the project at the stage of ICO, become less, as they are afraid that their money invested in ICO can disappear. Although of course, now with the help of ICO can earn a lot of money. But promising Ico-projects now hardly manage to attract investors' attention, as investors prefer to buy new tokens after they are released to the exchange.

Modern Ponzi, maybe. But, there are a lot of filters for ICOs. Ther are a lot of websites that review ICOs, the team, the project and background of everything, this way the risk of getting scammed is dramatically reduced. Of course, there is the Government involvement with this in order to attempt to protect their citizens.
It's not just free money. Now to raise funds you need to prove that the project is real and all money will spend on budget . Also investers want to get their own benefit.
A few people I know very much want joining ICO crusades as opposed to signature battles since they surmise that the vast majority of the benefits are here. I have never taken a stab at joining efforts in ICO yet I am especially intrigued joining in light of the great criticism my associates give me. Most of the ICO is a scam, but I still get involved. Why is that? Because it's good, even if you know it's a bubble, i get involved.

Well said sir, even if ICO is a scam it requires time and effort to fake it. Plus many pay advertisers, bounty campaigns or even some news to post they articles so that they have their voices heard out. I don't say that it is good because many are fake out there, it is sad for crypto community since this field is not regulated and simply it can't be regulated. In some countries your government will try to track down fraudsters if they want to run with bag of cash after ICOs but I don;t see this as being the case with most of them out there.

that's sure, need knowledge too of course. to be online in bitcointalk and join ico also need internet quota and not free. but if here is discussed is about a large initial capital to start trading bitcoin or investment, ico is best way to get bitcoin.

Not agree that you are getting free money. The investors in ICO take the risk knowing that now days 80% ICO are going be a scam. Also now from good ICO's its very hard to get some coins. So, now its not a free money. Investors are struggling for it.
