Ico does nt have particular legality in any country they are running on unregulated space so we cant legal or illegal
Yes ICO are still legit, I believe there are still some legit ICO out there though it is also a known fact that there are fake ICO out there whose intention is to defraud people of their hard earned money but this doesn't mean all ICO are fake and unreal.all you have to do is to be careful and read the whitepaper well before investing in any ICO.
I am confident that this industry is just beginning to develop. And it seems to me that in many countries ICO will be legalized. This will have a positive effect on ICO.
it's not that easy...personally I put my money only in ICO after an accurate investigation of:
1) team
2) whitepaper
3) social network
If they seems good and I like the project I will invest, otherwise not..

Ico are always legit only some rare are scmmed , investor just need to research proper and ask questions about everything that bother them , if the answer satisfy the investor then he should think about investing in project otherwise don't risk money ,so always instead of following hype investors should ask questions,
Yes there are still a handful of legit ICO out there, though there are some fake and scam motivated ICOs around too but that doesn't mean there are no legit ICO out there. All we have to do is be careful when choosing an ICO to invest in.

2. Check their white paper
3. Check the team members profile
4. Check their ratings and how comparable their bonus is
5. Then determine the logetivity of the project their total supply, if the left over tokens will be burned

There were of few legit ICO and the truth is you can hardly determine what it is. Even it is legit you will struggle also witg the track it is going when placed on an exchanged. Ico legally otherwise would have long ago covered all this market. There is not a deception which often occurs with projects.
A lot of ICOs still try to scam people but there are some which gives you quite good gains. To find this kind of ICOs you really have to spend time and research about the idea/product, team, roadmap and token metrics to sort out the gems.

A lot of them may be legit but there are so freaking many of them now that I would bet only 10% of them will be successful, go check out an ICO listing website, there are literally 100s of ICOs in the pipeline, its become so saturated now that I just can't help but laugh

You must remember, nobody will tell you which ico project is legit or fake. We can only analyze projects and predict which will be the best to join and try.
So you must read as much as you can about any ico and determine yourself if it has potential and it will be worth your time
