An altcoin might even be the reason why bitcoin would be dead. In this world, the bitcoin users are still a minority. There exists 99% of the world who aren't bitcoin users at all. As a matter of fact, they don't use cryptocurrencies at all. They might have heard of it but wasn't really interested. In terms of features, bitcoin isn't really ahead of altcoins. The only thing that's keeping it at the top is the fact that it's at the top. In other words, if an altcoin and bitcoin has an equal amount of hype, the altcoin will take over because it is ahead in terms of features.

But that's all beside the point (lol). The truth is, even if bitcoin is the base currency of altcoins, when it dies, it dies alone. Altcoins do not rely on it. They are already existing so even if bitcoin just suddenly disappeared, they will be okay. Their entirety doesn't depend on each other. People might get the idea that bitcoin's death is the death of cryptocurrency but it's actually the opposite. With bitcoin's death, altcoins are going to be pumped since where else are people going to invest.

This is also one of the reasons why banning bitcoin is totally pointless. Bitcoin's throne will just be replaced by another cryptocurrency even though they hypothetically ban bitcoin (yup banning bitcoin is impossible unless they buy all bitcoins which is impossible as well).

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

I personally think that it would become hard for bitcoin to die completely. Lets say that all the big mining farms went offline at the same time. That would still leave all tje people who mine at home running the network like in the early days. Now if something did kill off bitcoin completely i would imagine that it will be some new coin. If that is the case then i am sure that alt coins will be backed up by this new coin so they should be safe i think.

There is a huge percentage that altcoin will be affected but definitely, it will not die.  I believe cryptocurrency are independent of each other that is why whenever 1 altcoin dies, it does not affect the others.  And since Bitcoin is the most popular among cryptocurrency, it will have a negative impact if it dies but it does not mean altcoin will die too.  Different developers, a different set of community and supporters.

You can interpose a lot of the coin charts and see correlation. So if Bitcoin falters, so will other coins. There's a weird effect where alt-coins drop a little when bitcoin rallies but it tends to correct.

Bitcoin is still what people hear because it's the pack leader. A few coins could survive without Bitcoin though, Ethereum, Monero and Ripple being some in my opinion.

I guess if bitcoin dies, an alternate coin will take over because cryptocurrency is a advance technology that requires advancement and i believe that it wont die anytime soon. If another alternate coin will surpass the milestones that bitcoin has achieved then that alternate coin will be useful in our future.

If bitcon die, i think it will not make altcoin die also. If bitcoin will die all bitcoin users will switch to altcoin, because there many promising altcoin that has potentials. But still i don't think bitcoin will die so just stay calm and enjoy bitcoin.
I do not think so.  I guess if bitcoin dies so as altcoins as the latter's price are based on bitcoin.  If people lose trust on bitcoin which we all know is the most trusted digital currency then people will think twice before they switch to altcoins.  Bitcoin seems the mother of all digital coins.
I agree with you, bitcoin is the mother of cryptocurrencies, that is why other coins are just considered as an alternative coins because bitcoin is the main. If bitcoin will die, which is impossible for now, most of the altcoin will also be affected because most of them have been created based on bitcoin. As we can see in the market the price is being affected too.

Most probably yes, as altcoin's price are hooked to BTC so they might also crashed. Just incase Bitcoin vanished, I guess 90% of altcoins will disappear or will cease to continue. Investor might leave the blockchain and look for blockchain alternatives like IOTA.

Its very hard question that if bitcoin die all other coin die. Bitcoin is the mother of all other cruptocurrency. ETH has great position after that bitcoin. So I think it will stay other altcoin.

If Bitcoin collapses then all altcoin might collapse as well. The only circumstance in which you do not see this happens if another cryptococcus rises to the top and Bitcoin falls apart. The new cryptocurrency will act as a new benchmark for all other cryptoes. In this case, altcoin may be affected in the short term,

in my opinion, if bitcoin dies then most of altcoin will also die (if the altcoin can only be traded with bitcoin only). maybe people will look for alternatives to search for altcoin trading center referrals, may be able to move using ETH, WAVES, or maybe with USD. There will be alternatives, but I'm not sure if this will last long.

I only think of a limited scenarios in which Altcoins won't die along with Bitcoin and that is when all Bitcoin holders have migrated or shift into the next big cryptocurrency available, but that is of only Bitcoin failed by itself. But if the government have dofferent views otherwise then Bitcoin and other altcoins will die together because Bitcoin is the biggest cryptocurrency in terms of market share, and other are only trading altcoins to earn Bitcoin in the process.
The total eradication of bitcoin will surely affect the existing other altcoin since most of them depend on bitcoin as being the strongest cryptocurrency in the digital market. If the government will ban bitcoin from the market and dies eventually, along with it other altcoin will die, unless bitcoin holder transfer their coins to a much stronger crypto that is allowed to circle in the market by the government.

You think if bitcoin dies because of loss of attraction and consumers. ETH will take over Bitcoin because we know that ETH is the most popular after Bitcoin.

I believe that if Bitcoin sieze to exist that will not mean the end of altcoins. There are really cool projects, which have a huge growth potential.

Straight forward answer is yes. Bitcoin is like the heart and blockchain is the brain who computes all the data/transaction. So anyone between the two dies. Everything else will follow.
