Ever wanted to run your own casino? PM me for info
Buy more cheap bitcoin (cheap = sub 10k)
But how would we know its not a bubble like it was before! Many people bought in at 1.1k or more during that bubble because it went up so fast. And look were we are now... You gotta know WHY its going up, and if the same thing could bring it down again. Don't invest blindly just because there was 400% increase yesterday

I will just use it to buy a house.

I know that's very usual but with my current rent you can probably feed an african village for a month!

That is usual but it is one of the best things you could possibly buy and if you can get that from your bitcoin holdings then you made a awesome investment and you deserve to live rent free and maybe send a family in Africa a little something each month from the money you saved that would be amazing gesture and add to your good karma. I will actually do the same as you although i would buy my land and build my familys home over the next 2+years which is long but it will be ours so i have no worries plus i have many friends in the trade so i get to help them so thats good  Smiley

First I would check WHY it went to 1000$, if its a bubble I would just sell right then and there, however if it was just a consistent rise due to maybe increased adoption or use I would keep holding on until it goes higher.

Yay you would be buying my bitcoin if there was no reason for the rise to 1000+ if there was a reason then i would most definitely hold but anything else it is time to unload my holdings until the next drop then i will be back with a bigger stack. Smiley

What would you consider a valid reason for the price to jump to $1000 from the current rate just below $300?

I'd buy MORE bitcoin :-)
We could probably see a correction again after 1K but we will surely go way above 1K next time due psychological factor of Bitcoins proved resilience to recover.

...

I started into the BTC world after BTC had backed off its all time highs (over $1000), I started slowly buying at around $700 and having been buying more on the way down.  For the moment I have no plans to spend them.

That would change if BTC goes back up to $1000 or even above its earlier all-time highs.  I will mention below what I will likely do further below, but here is a chance to tell people WHAT you would do with some or all of your BTC if we have a BIG price rise within, say, the next year or two:

If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do?

*  *  *

1) Buy gold!

2) Look for a good investment in the BTC community

3) Very possibly hoard the rest

If I have 1 btc worth 1k? Maybe I will wait for another week for it to rise a hundred dollars more. If not, will be selling it as soon as it hits $950.

unlikely.

The first run to 1000 was fueled by capital flight from china, which was eventually neutered and what was likely an inside trading bot at mt gox.

a second run to 1000 from here would be straight fundamentals. a lot of money from gemini and coin, gbtc, dont really move around. There would be a legitimate floor for bitcoin barring some zero day attack.

It was back to how many bitcoin that we have
If it has 1 btc then it will be very little we to allocate anywhere coins will be used
If so, it might be better in part used for needs that we want and partly to invest in gold or in bitcoin or altcoin

I would buy it now if I had any spare money, since I don't I can't. If it got to $1000 I would do nothing, maybe spend part of it, but a really small part of it.

1. The obvious choice: hoard like a squirrel before winter.
2. Start personal mining project since it's possible to profit then.
3. Invest some in loans/projects
4. Celebrate.

Ignore all these options and prepare for the inevitable sell off and profit taking, I always try to use Bitcoin as a currency, but we aren't there yet, only until I see the Euro collapse will I do anything with Bitcoin to celebrate Cheesy

I'm just going to lament the fate , why I do not buy bitcoin from the first , when the price is still very low.
