I think you are a newbie in this market. When you invest in a project, you have to use your money to buy their token that means you will own token and they will own your money. And your profit and risk will depend on them if it is a good project or it is a scam project.

I think it will bring a huge impact in the cryptocurrency group many peopls will not trust the cryptos since the ICO fails and shutdown;
and that is not great for the investors and business in cryptocurrency.

If you are lucky, you will get your funds back. But it depends on the team and on their decision. I have met projects that said that they will continue their development and will reduce the bar of the soft cap to continue their job.

If it means that all the ICO processes will end, then I think that these processes will be replaced by new processes, which all the same will be collected on projects, this is a normal reaction of people in general.

To the best of my knowledge, if an ICO project is unable to reach the soft cap they ought to return or refund the investors. That is quite dependent on the team and if the project in the first place wasn't a scam. If it is a legit project, you would be refunded.

Normally fair ICOs make full refund to all investors and bounty hunters receive tokens that cost nothing (I have many such) or don`t receive at all.
SO better to chose ICOs that had already met soft cap.

It depends on the team and I heard a project (I forgot the name) giving back the money because it was not succesful. If the project still goes on even they don't reach their soft cap then expect for a hard development and exchange listing will take so long or if they list the coin expect for a dump.

It also depends on every project, most of the "serious" projects that i saw that did not reach the softcap, gave back the money to the investors.

but there are also a bunch of them that are not even giving a single dollar, and they just disappear from the map.

That is what is common nowadays, because of the bad market conditions too.

If ICO fails then it is expected that your effort and hard work will be wasted and we have to face it because it is also our fault to have not carefully studied or research the ability of the developer to sell the project, it is not so easy to accept but the life of hunters sometimes you earn or nothing.

If an ico fails there are two things involved, it is either the project returns investors money due to their ability to reach the hardcap, or they are scammers and decide to call it a success and make away with people's money. It is that simple.
In the case of scandal it is mostly hard to track down the stolen funds due to the anonymity the blockchain. So it is best to be careful about ico investments in general.

Yes we need to be very careful while investing in ICO project because there are lot of scammers in the market which we might not know but we need to be very careful and investing partial amount in ICO. If ICO fails there is less chance of getting refund so choose right ICO forum which will help you to make profit...

Of course and these scammers have used various ways to scam the investors. Remember when you have invested your money in the ico which doesn't complete all of the regulations and then it's a bit difficult to get refund for our money.

For all investors that have spent their money into the ICO, commonly the developer team will be responsible if they are not scammers. They will return your money. However, probably there will be some steps and rules that you should do such as filling the form, contacting the team, and others. Just follow the information on the telegram or email or whatever they inform.

High chance they will not get back your money. Because mostly the ICO are not successful they did not back the capital of the investor even a little bit capital . Your lucky if the ICO are failed and you will get back your investment that you invested to the ICO.

what do you mean of failed ico? if you mean they don't reach the soft cap they usually refund their customers if the team is faithful or simply try another round with traditional vc companies

Only invest in trusted ICO or on a location where you can access them so you will know the character of these people if they are legit and honest, they will refund your investment, if not they will run with your money sometimes they intend to make the project fail so they can run away with investors money.
