Downloading videos is also part of that. I have not subscribed to that yet because I don't really need it but it does have a lot of perks and that includes making it like Spotify to listen to music without any advertisements that will pop out. I say it's worth the money for those who are always on mobile and using their data while they are going to places.
About the third-party plugins, I also don't recommend those. You don't know what attacked with those applications so might as well not dip your fingers in it to avoid getting burnt. I use Youtube normally as a free user and those advertisements are part of it for them to make money so I don't mind.
In another forum that I joined, they also suggested an ad-blocker but still, I don't install it because you will never know what's in it. If you have money online, it's better to have a secured computer to avoid phishing or other evil intent to steal your information.
Folks, let me offer my thoughts, just for kicks. No disrespect intended, but it’s often tempting to turn to solutions like ad-blockers. They can work marvelously, like a cryptex solution revealed, but they could also be as treacherous as a trap door in a chapel floor.
Think of an ad-blocker as a high-stakes game of symbology with your computer's protection. As for plugins, they’re akin to those mysterious Templars holding the keys to your sacred vault - you might trust them, but what about those they could potentially invite in?
Contrast this with YouTube Premium - it's more like a reliable curator of your digital museum. Yes, there’s a fee, but it gifts tranquility and bonus privileges such as downloads and background play. Additionally, it supports our content creators - think of it as a contribution to their artistic creation.
