I'm asking out of curiosity, are you guys experiencing a surge of gambling ads on youtube videos lately? this past week I've experienced an increased encounter of gambling ads on videos I watch on youtube. it's not that it bothers me, I am just surprised because I don't remember getting this many gambling ads on youtube videos in the past, but this past week, I usually get a gambling ad from 2-3 out of 5 videos I watch(it's just an estimation because of how often I get the ads). I don't know if it is because I recently watched several videos of streamers gambling or it's just a coincidence, I've watched streamers gambling videos in the past but I have never gotten this many gambling ads.
I have started disliking YouTube because they have choose to increase the rate at which we see ads on there platform. I don't know whether the numbers of there customers had increased so far but I think I have started seeing increase ads whether I am using the platform. This is even more annoying when I use my TV to access the platform. Sometimes it keep showing ads every 2 minutes of using the platform which is very discouraging. How I wish there is available platform like YouTube that we could use and get what we want like the kind of videos we are looking.

I recommend that you use alternative accounts (Gmail) to watch Youtube videos related to gambling and those associated side things.

I have not seen a single video related to gambling or YouTubers, although it is a "regional" situation for each user in their browsing habit, but in relation to that type of advertising it should not be frequent unless their habit is.

It is something targeted, so when I use one of my YouTube accounts that I use for related content, I may not get advertising but the channel recommendations are associated with what I see, they are somehow showing you the way to consume the content that frequently you follow.

In fact it happens with streaming accounts if you watch murder movies those are the recommendations. Then...

Same here, not seen one single ad for gambling on Youtube, pretty sure it would be illegal, I mean it's an adult thing and you don't want to get in trouble advertising casinos to kids, feels very weird they'd get the ads.

Then again, I don't know what YT or Google does outside my region but I even use VPNs of different countries and never once got a 18+ ad on YT. But crypto shilling ads, yech, all the time.

Also, I use adblocker, maybe that's why.

YouTube algorithm works on your choice of video. If you are watching gambling or betting content its algorithm would bombard you with more such content. Depending on your behaviour it will start showing advertisement relevant to your viewing habit.

You can manage what kind of advertising you want while using any Google service. You can read this [https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7403255?hl=en]article[/url] if you want to reset the advertisement.

I also experience this recently. I thought it's just me. But I guess the number and frequency of gambling ads became more and more noticeable in YT and in other social media platforms such as Facebook. There are many advertisement nowadays about gambling even if you are just streaming a random vlog, song, or meme. It appears in the mainstream media more often and sometimes i feel bothered about it since there might be someone below 18 who are lurking around.

We should just Know this that stopping the effect or appearance of these ads may not stop because it's one of their own promotional efforts in getting their services and products being advertised, we also need to be careful not to fall of victim of any ads we come across by clicking them, ads has its own advantages in it's little way because it aid fast information dissemination across the world through the social media platforms.

I believe it is not my algorithm talking since I'm not really much into watching gambling related videos or even viewing gambling related content. There are even many so-called influencers who are advertising gambling nowadays. So most probably, gambling just become more and more known and became a means of sideline to some.

You don't really have to be gambling video inclined person before you can be receiving their ads, they randomly selects platforms they advertise on and the things we often watch while on YouTube, all work together with their precision and set ads on videos we watch etc.

I also observed that if you watch any video, there will be an inflow of related ads based on the content of the video you clicked on. Maybe the system. is programmed that way.

In my country, there is also an increase in gambling advertisements after the covid-19 restrictions and this has led to more endorsement deals for many influencers. These influencers are now spreading the news of both crypto and other online fiat gambling. I am terrified to give my children my phone to watch their favorite children's comedy because these adverts sometimes pop up, thereby exposing them to the risk of underage gambling. There is a need to control these adverts to ensure that it gets to only matured targets.

That's most probably because of the algorithm of your most recent browsing history or like you've said, those Youtube videos you're currently interested with. I think the algorithm was read through your browser, I'm not sure of it, but that is one thing I have noticed since I am also seeing a pattern on what the facebook ads is showing me based on my most recent search history in the internet using a specific browser. I think everything you open with that browser that shows ads will going to show you the same algorithm.  However, Its undeniable that the gambling industry are becoming more and more popular nowadays - so I can also say that there is an increase of number in gambling ads that we can see in the internet. Most content creators here in my country are even advertising several online casinos within their video content run time, in-stream ads are also different.

Yeah, I'm not sure about that algo but it seems that it's the system that learning about your previous visits and those recommendations relied from how you use the information, more on an AI thing that direct those recommendations and ads for your references and interest, personally, it's annoying especially if you are not really a fan and you just mistakenly press the site or the ads, then suddenly it will be on your recommended site to visit.

Well, I don’t get same adverts when I watch YouTube videos

YouTube algorithm has been programmed to show you ads relating to things you search mostly on google (apparently, google owns YouTube)

So anything you search more often on google, you get ads relating to it on YouTube videos

It also applies to the things you watch most times on YouTube too

If you watch football videos on YouTube more often, you start getting ads of football betting sites

I dont notice this as I am using adblocker on my PC
There are different types of ads.

there are the ones that are monetised by Google. But can add blockers on your phone or computer block that type of ads. I do not think so. They are not add when browser but when watching YouTube videos.

Another one is the ones that some YouTube content creators included into their videos, no ad blocker can edit a video or fast forward the part of the video that contains the ad.

I noticed this on social media mostly like they have a video in front and in the middle or at the end of the video they will put a local casino or gambling platform that they are showing that they are playing and winning on that casino, which is pretty funny that they do it so that you can watch it, but again, I don't mind it, I will just scroll more, but it is kind of annoying if the kids saw this. But on Youtube, I don't see this kind of video that they edit and in the end put a casino as it is against the terms, I think, and it should be a video alone with that platform.

Not recently, I have been noticing gambling ads in YouTube channel videos and Facebook shrot videos for a long time in my country. All these ads are mainly promoted by the casino platform through YouTubers. YouTubers get huge profits due to this promotion. However, in my country, advertising increased a lot for a while but now it has decreased a lot because a few days ago a YouTuber was arrested and fined for posting this gambling ad in his video. Because gambling is banned in my country it is a heinous crime. Because of this fear, people have now stopped advertising gambling in videos.

I have never seen a Youtube Ad about gambling. Grin By "gambling" I mean actual online casinos. I've seen sports betting ads in the past(maybe it was last year). Nowadays, I mostly see gaming ads promoting some sketchy apps on Google Play. No gambling ads whatsoever. What kind of settings do you have in your Youtube/Google account? I want to allow gambling ads on Youtube. That would be fun to watch and analyze(from a marketing perspective). I want to see how the online casino are promoting their business and how they attract customers.
For me by gambling ads I mean youtubers promoting on their live streams gambling sites and gambling on them. I know they get a daily budget on which they gamble and every profit from it they can keep(this is how they pay them how they say). This is very popular now and good investment from casinos.

I did not observe a spike in gambling advertisements on Youtube videos or whether they were still the same as before.
Maybe there could be a spike along with the development of the gambling business, which is now increasingly popular.
But that's just an advertisement and if the advertisements on Youtube do not easily tempt you, you will not click on those ads and play gambling.
But I realized that some streamers try to upload their moments playing gambling in a casino and I don't know what Youtube's current policy is.

It might be a combination of different scenarios...

I do not know how long ago did you watch online gambling streamers, but if it was before the Covid pandemic... then it might explain why you received less gambling related advertisements. The online gambling scene exploded during Covid, because people were forced to stay in-doors.

Since then, online gambling has increased and the Youtube algorithm has targeted you with more advertisement, because there are more online gambling sites that are paying for advertisements on their platform.   Tongue

I think google ads are mainly about your interests and/or search history for sure. In other words it tries to catch your attention so it can classify your interests somehow with some sort of algorithm for sure. Its pretty much known that Google is fine with gambling ads, YouTube is owned by Google so, complete the puzzle here... As some others already said gambling companies may have paid a lot to Google as well. I think YouTube is one of the best websites on internet to advertise.

That would be surprising because google ads doesn't allow gambling related ads nor casinos. If they however changed their Gambling policy, then you can expect a lot of those ads going to flood depending to what you have been doing online.

Just as you said, Google or anyother adnetworks do have bots that personalized ads to users viewing a page. These bots collect browser data and check demographics to serve ads.

in the past years I experienced this but since I stopped visiting random gambling sites in my search box? i noticed that there are fewer gambling ads from my youtube watching .
maybe you are commonly checking gambling sites?
and also I only visits youtube limited times lately so I don't bother checking this thing nowadays.

You have two choice use Brave or pay to have an ad-free experience, and expect casinos to spend thousands of dollars from their advertising, the competition is very stiff, and Youtube is one platform where you n find a lot of gamblers who like or have been watching videos about gambling and they are pouring their ads to these users.
