You should say active coins. It is somewhat misleading for me since when we say project we might be talking about ICOs in here. If it's ICO, some ICO project are only staying active until they manage to stop collecting money in their ICO and then they'll going to run away.
It means only active projects because a project can always fail, no matter if it's still ICO or already a lauched coin.
ICO is own category because it is high risk.
Coin is already an established project, where also work was delievered after collecting funds.

It is hard to predict if a project is active or not and how are you going to check this? There are enough dead projects that have a good trading volume, because they want people to invest more and keep the value stable, without any updates.

Invest in the most active altcoins, do not but inactive altcoins because for sure it could be a shitcoin. There is a demand in an altcoins if it is active. Always consider the 24hr volume before you buy.
It is not good to buy inactive coin because it has no market participants meaning its value is continuing to depreciate because there is no willing buyers. Just buy altcoins that belongs in the top 15  in terms of volume.
what I consider to be inactive project are those with no progress at all and having low volume it's threatened of being delisted by the exchange, buying coin with low volume is always a bad idea let alone inactive coin and whoever put there money into such coin is insane or not educated about how investment works when it comes to altcoins

top 15 is guaranteed to be around for a long time so it will be a wiser investment for people who seek safety rather than taking a huge risk for literally nothing
There are now many tokens that been delisted because investors are not patronizing it anymore. If you buy a coin with a low volume (shitcoin) you are prone that your token may get delisted. Just buy altcoins that have potential in the market like ETH, XRP, Bitcoin SV and etc.

Here is a good source to decide which altcoin to invest in. I would never buy a dead altcoin with no development except Doge. Doge is unique and will be successful without much development.

Yes, I think that is good information as a recommendation before we buy Altcoin. do not buy coins that the trade volume of the coin you are buying is quiet or dead. maybe it would be nice if you can also provide the latest information such as trade chart images above for now. dead market volume in my opinion, maybe because the coin holders are bored with the coins they hold because they may not be profitable anymore, so they will turn to look for other coins, which they feel that the coins he bought, are coins that better and more profitable than before.

This is easier said than done, because we never know when a particular project will become inactive. In the past, I had come across a few projects which suddenly became inactive, after a lot of hype and market activity. It is very difficult to differentiate such projects from the genuine ones. Personally I have invested in a few such projects and lost my money. One example that I could give is that of the TMT (Traxia Membership Token). That project was faring really well.. until one day it suddenly crashed at the market.
That's kinda true. There'll always some project that seem really active and after the funding's done then the team will just left the group or become silent to the community. That kind of thing is what pisses me the most they are around just to squeeze the money out of people's wallet and be done with it that's basically the same as exit scam. Also usually when a token is crashing its price as you said the developers will lost their motivation and become somewhat lackeys to their project and that's not a good thing at all.

Do not expect that you can increase your investment in inactive project, there are a lot of active project where they usually upgrade and develop their product quarterly. It is better to invest in these kinds of project because of the opportunities may we get.

I think Doge still has a good future because until now Doge is quite attractive to many people and its volume is also quite strong. Doge is one of the active coins which has shown good value in certain times and now price for Doge is relatively cheap, before the price rises to the highest value ever achieved.
but doge price movements are not suitable for short-term investments but if used for long-term investments they have the potential, you can invest in doge because they are cheap and people who have small capital can buy them and invest in them

yes I agree, I also will not buy dead coins because in my opinion it's a waste of money. I think, many dogecoin still use it to invest, transfer balances to other exchangers, and sometimes there are gambling sites that use doge

what? Verge is dead? I do not think so. It is only at this point that it has not fully realized its potential and it needs more time to get a market of its own.
At the moment, I still believe that Pundi X and Verge will have a brighter future in 2020 when bitcoin halving takes place.

Dogecoin has a very acrtive developmental team behind it which has been supporting it ever since. I think dogecoin will continue to progress and continue to develop as long as it has a very hard working team behind it. We just need to wait this year and by the start of 2020, we will surely see dogecoin attain new heights.

The whole idea of what to invest in and when has a greater contribution of decision from the investor.  It is to an investor's peril not to first consider an extensive research on what a particular projects tends to solve as a use case and/or if it still exists and the status of the project. It is not enough getting to know that a project has a use case but its very important to know how committed the team is to achieving that project.

It's a good source that will surely help those investors who have problem in choosing the right project to invest in. Dead projects should be buried so other investors will not fall victim to them.

I am not a fan with Doge but as I see, it is currently ranking in number 28 base on coinmarketcap so it is still a good choice if you like to invest to it. But I prefer investing in top 5 only in coinmarketcap so I can lessen the risk of my investment especially that the market right now is nearly at the bottom.

Most people will rather throw their money at scam projects and cry later.  Cheesy

Investing in a dead coin is the greatest mistake every investor could ever make. I for instance will never throw my money into a coin with low volume on exchanges because the possibility that such coin will soon wash out from the surface of the market is high
investing in coins that do not have a lot of volume will make your funds go to zero, it takes courage to invest in coins that are still at the development stage. because the risk is very large if the project successfully develops there will be benefits but if it fails then the investment will lose

There is nothing wrong with investing in coins with a small volume. That means it will be easier for you to get a better ownage of the market.  Buying in the development stage is the best time for true believers. Though people invest in anything it seems. Most coins are not developing and will never be more then they are at the moment.

Actually the market is unpredictable so no one can say which coin is good for investment purposes, 75% it depends on your luck and 25% on your market research or survey. Invest only in top 20 coins and nowadays bitcoin is the best option for investment.
I think you are a little mistaken in the calculations. 80 percent of success in this market depends on how well you analyzed the tools in which you want to invest in and 20 percent of your luck

Projects that are at development stage bring the most profit if invested in them, but they can die very quickly.
Working projects will bring less profit, but are more stable to problems.
so the question here is rather how much the investor is willing to take risks Smiley
