PROS: there are actually great projects that need funding and hide huge potential. Chosing the right one is a hard task but if you manage to do it, you'll be in green.
CONS: it really turned the other way around. That great idea started to get abused and more and more meaningless tokens appear. 99% of the ICOs are trash and scams.
Be careful what you invest in. Do a solid research before taking any actions.

Investing to new ICOs is like gambling, you wouldn't know if that ICO has a future or not. But the only thing that can be sure is to know the backbone and the core team because advertising and marketing has a better role to promote ICOs and investors.

ICO is still a promising thing for investors who have a lot of money. ICO can be spelled out promising because its profit can reach 1000%. And now more and more large companies are entering the world of Crypto to seek opportunities through ICO. But, ICO have Big risk .

Off course it is. Because the amount of startup doing ICO is hugely increasing, you must be aware of the core team and also check their whitepaper to see is it a scam or not. If not, your investment might be doing well over time.

There is certainly still the good the bad and the downright ugly. You will always still find some ICO's that is worth the time to invest in.
Due diligence is just way more important today. You can't just simply check the website and invest. Spend at least an hour even more just checking up on every claim and team member.

This market will soon die out.
It is already almost oversaturated and brings a minimum profit to its investors.
I don't think so, as long as there are legitimate ICOs people will invest. There are a lot of ICos around the crypto world but as investors it's our responsibility to ensure we have invested in the most promising ICO, if we fail that is when we loss our money.

I do not invest in ICO projects, but I participate in them in signature campaigns. I can say that most, about 80 percent, are successfully settled, some are not brought to the end because they do not raise enough funds, and the units are scammers. For example, the BeOne campaign seems to have been promising, but it turned out ... Now the ICO campaign is being conducted by the Milkcoin campaign, it's interesting that they do not issue their medals, invest in agriculture in the Voronezh region, Russia, and pay for the airwaves. This is something that is not very similar to ICO and smacks of fraud. But in general, I'm pleased that I participate in different ICOs and consider them necessary.

Hi, everybody!
Yes, now there is a sad situation on ICOs market at the moment. Most coins after tokensale are traded with price lower than ICO (exept pre-sale price maybe). Even great projects have the same problem. Some projects which don't have any lock period for their tokens after selling meet with the situation when coins are sold on EtherDelta at a lower than ICO price right during ICO! Shocked But 2-3 months ago such tokens would be sold x3-5 minimum. So, ICO market is dead now, I think.

Not all Icos trade under sale price - only the ones that are uncapped or over estimate how much they need.

Check out ASSETRON ENERGY - price is currently in pre-sale at 2.5 cents, and this company will use their Tokens on the investments platform, so the price will only go up as more projects go online, thats why I invested a lot into it.
There are, of course, some exceptions. One of them is in my signature. Grin
The ICO market will have to change in the near future. Most projects will have to reduce their cap 5-10 times, maybe more.

The whole point of an ICO is to get in on a project early, before it gets big. In that sense, ICO's are extremely promising IF you choose the right one. As you can guess, everybody wants to own the next Ethereum.

Do your research, get in early, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

That's all you need when it comes to investing in general.

I think you can trust those tokens that have visions. those that honestly enlighten their audience about their visions and not just make coins that aims to enter a well established area.

From the investor's point of view, the profit from ico purchase is the main one. There are some projects that just want their sales to work and eventually move very slowly in every project update after the coins appear in the market trading, this is a big problem, not all investors have a "dump" mental, if the coins they buy have a prospect then they will keep it.
