Currently, ICO projects appear more and more. It is a form of real capital mobilization using electronic money. In addition to the benefits and especially the benefits to investors, it also has risks. More and more ICO projects show signs of fraud and are not trusted, many investors have suffered heavy losses. It has been argued that the ICO is a form of money laundering. China has also issued bans on the ICO. However, not all of them, there are still successful ICO. The important thing before investing is that everyone needs to thoroughly understand the ICO-related information, everything must be transparent, clear and be chosen by many people.

Investing in ICO still holds promises provided that these icos are successful. Though it may have some potential but it will still require some risks. I think when you invest in icos, you just have to be careful in choosing which icos to invest on.

If they get on mainstream media like BBC, CNBC etc I think that is one sign of credibility. The people behind it are proud to show their faces publicly. Still no guarantee of success, depends on concept, market size, does it address pain points, etc.

Problem starts when People on both the side (Investors & Project owners) look at making quick buck. If if either one of the party did the research, the risk around ICOs could be mitigated. Having said that, it is quite a young market and it will eventually stabilise. Till then, choose where you invest, look for the background of the founders, their previous track history and experience. Start your shortlist criteria to be Projects with a working product & you should be fine.
I cant entrust my investment or money into ICO as of now specially for long term since most of them do really dump as of now easily unlike on past projects which do really have good  plans for long term but now devs or coin owners are becoming greedy for money which i do observe most of them do really dump as of now on a short period of time this is why it is really very risky.Ill rather decide to go for active profit taking after joining an ICO.

Of course ICO is still promising in the future as this is the trend of the future ICO market. I think if you want to participate in ICO projects we need to know very well the information because if you do not find out clearly you will lose your profits.

Some ICO are obviously hopeless, but they continue to collect more and more investments, so I agree with the opinion that the main thing is to choose thoroughly and to look on three steps ahead, and it's not about scam in many cases.

In picking ICO where we can invest we need to be more practical and careful because almost of them are scam.. Ive been scam on joining a campaign and the manager didn't updating us.. so i stoped on them .. thankful also because I knew it early than later..

From the investor's point of view, the profit from ico purchase is the main one. There are some projects that just want their sales to work and eventually move very slowly in every project update after the coins appear in the market trading, this is a big problem, not all investors have a "dump" mental, if the coins they buy have a prospect then they will keep it.

ICOs can be very profitable. But recently there are hundreds of ICOs and choosing among them is way too tough. I invested in Monaco ICO and was able to gain approximately 20x profit. So, yes there are investment worthy ICOs. But before that one need to understand the project, team and whitepaper efficiently. Lots of scam ICOs are coming everyday. We need to be cautious with our funds.

If you are wanna investing in the ico and please, don't consider the ico as the place that to flip your money to take decent profit just in some days. This must be forgotten by everyone about the definition of ico is not only short-term development.
As you can see the fact that most of the ico from the previous year already given decent profit to the investors. That depends on the how the investors are arguing about the definition of ico.

I will only invest in project that already has working product/ prototype , like bankera already has spectrocoin , Monaize already has working apps etc. Project that only has whitepaper is very risky and I avoid it at all cost unless the team behind it is really trustworthy and capable.

Even though investing in ICO is risky but still profitable. The only thing we should do, isto have a smart choice of ICO'S before having an investment because there are many promising ICO's at the start but in the end it is totally a scam.

ICO nowadays just became a way for whales to acquire a huge amount of coins and then dump it once listed on exchanges. For an easy profit. I think its better to let the project prove itself first and establish the price in the market before jumping into it.

ICO will remain a promotional medium. indeed today many ICO's are scam. But not all projects. investors really are investors who are ready about the profit and loss. Everything has been taken into account. even the losses to be borne have been prepared. so it does not affect their finances.

Check out Assetrons Pre-Ico Sale, really like the project, and the tokens are only 0.025 USD compared to the 0.04 plan for end of ICO. They are in Australia and are regulated by ASIC. As soon as Token Sale ends, these can be traded on the WAVES DEX, so they are already on an exchange.

(Yes I invested 3 BTC into them)

I am a person that gains profit from investing in ICOs but now I'm having second thoughts. I know some ICOs are potential scam so I am really picky to where I put my money.
Anyway, considering with what happened to Ethereum price and with the nearing Aigist 1, do you guys think that it will still be profitable to invest on ICOs mostly on ERC20 tokens and those accepting btc payments?

I always see ICO as a promising investment but you are right, there are some scam ICO and need to be careful in choosing the right one.

But even if there are scam ICO i still find ICO very profitable.
